Sonic Game Guide Link
[edit]This link is just advertising for someones site, it is a horribly made game guide for sonic adventure/dx and it dosent even deserve to be linked on the sonic adventure page, so why is it here.
I have removed this link and placed it here. -RossyMiles 12:14, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:GGSonic2.jpg
[edit]Image:GGSonic2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Merge to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit)?
[edit]There seems to be disagreement about the existence of this separate page for the 8-bit version, so anyone with an opinion on it should discuss it here rather than redirect/revert. Personally I think that both could be served by a single article, and the "16-bit" article should be moved to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (currently a disambig page) to reflect the fact that it doesn't just cover the 16-bit version. - Is it an original title?
- Does it need to be apart from the main Sonic the Hedgehog article? - A Link to the Past (talk) 18:03, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- Are you guys kidding? They are 2 totally different games. Aside from starring Sonic and featuring Tails it has nothing to do with the 16-bit title. There are no shared stages and there is a different story.--MathUser2929 (talk) 17:39, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- Just talk to me in here Link to the past, if you wanna talk about this topic. I'm not the only one that's gonna want the articles seperate. While you may think it's convenient to have two games which have the same name in one page, they are two seperate games. It's like merging Sonic 1 for genesis with Sonic 2006. Different games, developed by different teams. I think the 8-bit page is large enough to be it's own article. It's a 8-bit title so the page will only be so big.--MathUser2929 (talk) 16:25, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- Size is irrelevant - a 1,000 kb article will be deleted if it fails to show it needs to be separate. The Gameplay section is the same as every other gameplay section for a 2D Sonic, the Plot section is empty, etc. They're related - released under the same name, around the same time, and it's common practice to have separate handheld games than the console games. - A Link to the Past (talk) 16:38, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- No, the story is different. Can you not see? Tails was kidnapped. In the 16-bit game Tails is following Sonic. The story of the game is pretty shallow as there are only cutscenes in the beginning and end of the game and it cant really be filled out much.--MathUser2929 (talk) 02:01, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
- Sonic 2 is clearly related. Companies often make separate games based on their predecessors. Pokémon TCG2 is a completely different game from Pokémon TCG, but it had very little to say about it, so it was merged. It doesn't get a free pass because it's not the same game as Sonic 2. - A Link to the Past (talk) 02:48, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
- Well, merge away then. I work on a Sonic site, Sonic Retro, so I don't really care if you combine all the articles together as that wiki is what I use as my resource for sonic info anyhows.--MathUser2929 (talk) 20:59, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
- So essentially, you're admitting that there's really nothing notable to say about this game? - A Link to the Past (talk) 21:28, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
- The page is filled with notable stuff.--MathUser2929 (talk) 20:10, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- You can't just say it's "filled with notable stuff". You need to cite specific instances of notability - it needs a reception section, development section, etc. - A Link to the Past (talk) 20:14, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

- Most of the 8-bit sonic games dont have all of these things you are listing.--208.53.224.182 (talk) 02:02, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
- That may or may not be true, but even reviews would help it out. - A Link to the Past (talk) 04:13, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I don't know where to get reviews for the game over 15 years later. Theres magazine scans on Sonic retro but none of them have reviews.--MathUser2929 (talk) 12:17, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Comments
- "the two games have" repetitive here, maybe "they have" will suffice.
- "developed by Ancient" link?
- Both fair use images need to point directly at this article, not a redirect.
- File:GGSonic2SH.png has "yes" next to replaceable, that's not really suitable for fair use because if it is replaceable with something free, it should be. And how do we know it's the Game Gear version? It simply says "emulator" in the file details.
- I changed it to say Not replaceable, as the game is copyrighted. We know it's the Game Gear version because of the screenshot resolution. TarkusABtalk/contrib 18:12, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- "Sonic to maneuver the levels in" Sonic in which to maneuver the levels.
- "for the Sega Genesis, stated" overlinked.
- "The Game Gear version" link Game Gear
- "platform.[19][7][22] " ref order
- "graphics,[25][24] even" similar.
- "additions.[19][8] Sega" ditto.
- "cutscene.[25][22][19][8]" and here.
- Could link cutscene.
- "control.[25][8] Mean" ref order.
- "graphical fidelity.[25][8] GamePro" same.
- Why in table is it called "Sega Game Gear" when it's just commonly called "Game Gear"?
- Are you asking why Game Gear is abbreviated to "SGG" in the review table? That's handled by the template when using the multi-platform feature and I can't change it. Maybe GG would be better, I don't know. Notice how Master System is not abbreviated, so there's not much uniformity in how those headers are decided. The headers are listed at Module:Video game reviews/data. TarkusABtalk/contrib 18:12, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- Ref 13 needs en-dash and publication and/or accessdate.
- Ref 27 pp. and en-dash in range.
That's all I have. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 16:29, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- @The Rambling Man: I believe I took care of everything. I answered a couple questions above. TarkusABtalk/contrib 18:12, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
