Please correct the error and specify where this song, sung by Andy Williams, is available. Again, the Andy Williams version of this song is not on the Godfather soundtrack. Only the instrumental. Recordings[edit]

There are quite a few Russian versions, but certainly not by Alexander Vertinsky, who died in 1957. There is no Czech version by Jiri Malasek, there is only a piano version played by him, without any lyrics. And I doubt that there is a Slovak version by Frantisek K. Speak Softly, Love → Love Theme from The Godfather – Or The Godfather (Love Theme). Either the instrumental theme is more well known, or the English-lyrics version is. However, it's hard to tell. Both versions performed variously in music charts, and the titles of different versions are commonly used. The English lyrics were based on the instrumental piece, which... well, came earlier before The Godfather or was recycled from earlier works, according to sources. Support per nomination (Speak Softly, Love → Love Theme from The Godfather). The instrumental, which is so well known that it has been even heard as a car horn, is usually referenced as "Love Theme from The Godfather" or simply as "Theme from The Godfather" / "The Godfather theme", rather as "Speak Softly Love".
