Metropolitan Museum of Art[edit]

@Pharos: I've added WikiProject Metropolitan Museum of Art because of the bust study for this statue. Bringing this to your attention, in case you happen to come across an image in the museum's collection. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 03:32, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Page title[edit]

Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Visual arts says, "For portrait sculptures of individuals in public places the forms "Statue of Fred Foo", "Equestrian statue of Fred Foo" or "Bust of Fred Foo" are recommended, unless a form such as "Fred Foo Memorial" or "Monument to Fred Foo" is the WP:COMMONNAME. If further disambiguation is needed, because there is more than one sculpture of the same person with an article, then disambiguation by location rather than the sculptor is usually better. This may be done as either "Statue of Fred Foo (Chicago)" (typically preferred for North America) or "Statue of Fred Foo, Glasgow" (typically preferred elsewhere)."

Should this page be moved? ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:29, 27 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

moved to, Statue of Admiral David Glasgow Farragut (Manhattan), or Admiral David Glasgow Farragut Monument (Manhattan)? Carptrash (talk) 19:49, 27 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And to confuse things even more, the Vinnie Ream statue of Farragut in Washington D.C. article is titled Admiral David G. Farragut (Ream statue) Carptrash (talk) 19:52, 27 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Carptrash, The "Ream statue" one should probably be moved to Statue of David Farragut (Washington, D.C.), and perhaps the Manhattan one should be moved to David Farragut Monument of Statue of David Farragut (New York City). I'm trying to cut back on my pings to the ever-helpful User:Ham II, but the additional feedback would be helpful. ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:02, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So to avoid too much pinging, @Another Believer: just do it. I think one of your best qualities is dogged perservenance, but don't be afraid of spontanious carpe diemism either. Be bold. Do it. Carptrash (talk) 16:14, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
