This band isn't some new indie group or garage band.

It, like Rob Thomas, is a new effort pushed by a former Matchbox Twenty member.

MB20 is undeniably one of the most influential and popular bands of its time.

Agreed, the article can use work, but hey it was just started.

Fair use rationale for Image:Newleft.jpg[edit]

Image:Newleft.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use.       • But if you're proposing to move this article because the primary topic for "The New Left" is New Left, why would you redirect to a dab page as if the phrase is ambiguous and there is no primary topic?     • Agree with User:In ictu oculi and disagree with User:Station1. DAB pages are always best for confused people, and anyone entering this search term into the search box is confused. No one who knows what they are doing would do that. "The" is a useless search term. People landing at this title will not land due to the Wikipedia search engine, but due to following a bad link, or link or bookmark dating from when this band article was mis-titled. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 03:46, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. I don't see any reason to think that people searching for the political movement are likely to search with "The New Left" rather than "New Left". The name of the (albeit obscure) band includes the "The", so those searches are likely to include the "The". We have two different articles with two different titles, both using their WP:COMMONNAME. A hatnote at the top of this article should take care of the occasional situation in which a person seeking the movement ends up here, and I've added it accordingly[1]. Also note that The Tea Party movement links to Tea Party movement (there is no obscure band with the name "The Tea Party movement", apparently) but its page view counts are extremely low [2]. --В²C ☎ 16:41, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose as unnecessary disambiguation. This article is averaging just 5 hits a day compared to around 700 for New Left; obviously not a lot of people are getting lost. The current set up using the natural and concise title hurts no one, and the new hatnote will take care of the rare reader who winds up here by mistake.   • Support. Ambiguous with The New Left ("The New Left was a broad political movement mainly in the 1960s and 1970s ..."), a topic that claims PrimaryTopic status for this title. The dropping of "The" from it's title is per WP:The, and this means that the presence of absence of a leading article is insufficient disambiguation.
