"He later contributed a twenty-man force from the city..." The source says that he obliged each district to contribute 20 men. In total they would certainly have been more, unless there was only one district, which can't be the case.

Is there a specific reason why the subject's full name, "Uthman ibn Abi al-As al-Thaqafi", is not being used as the title. No reason probably—other than keeping it concise. Not opposed to adding the nisba per your comment. Plus, it would help clarify that he was a Thaqafi, not a son of the Umayyad Abu al-As ibn Umayya, as some users previously thought. Al Ameer (talk) 16:20, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
