- William McMullen → William McMullen (politician)
- William McMullen (disambiguation) → William McMullen
– No indication that subject's notability in the English-speaking world or even in his own constituency was at a level sufficient for elevation to WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. His entry appears in no other Wikipedia and, also, the pilot seems to have been known as simply William McMullen rather than by his full name, William Stuart McMullen. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 14:26, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
- Strongly oppose Primary topic is determined by relative notability -- there is not such thing as being "sufficient for elevation." Pages do not need to meet some kind of arbitrary standard of how important they should be before becoming the primary.--Yaksar (let's chat) 01:56, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
- Since every {hndis} page has entries which receive more page views than other entries on that same dab page, if "relative notability" were to be the key consideration in the selection of a dab page WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, then every dab page would have a primary topic and all the entries would be listed in order of page views, which may vary on a day-to-day basis.
- As for meeting "some kind of arbitrary standard", as we all know, most dab pages have no primary topic because the standard for selection of a primary topic tends to be set fairly high in terms of national or international prominence beyond the narrow confines of the single dab page in question.
- Comparative examples to this dab page illustrate that there may be limited competition among three or four individuals whose stubs or articles suggest circumscribed notability (Talk:Trevor James#Requested move 3 April 2019 or Talk:Fred Kennedy#Requested move 11 April 2019) or, in different circumstances, there may be heavier competition among a dozen or more same-named persons (Talk:John Higgins#Requested move 8 April 2019), thus raising the bar for any candidate proposed as the primary topic.
- The "strong oppose", rather than simply "oppose", appears to argue that this Irish political figure, whose political career ended in 1953 and whose entry has not been picked up by any other Wikipedia, must be such an obvious WP:PRIMARYTOPIC that if it wasn't one already, it would unquestionably pass a nomination for primary. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 15:21, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
- Support, William McMullen gets an average of just 3 page views per day and the RCAF pilot is also referred to as just "William McMullen" in the cited sources, so this seems like a sensible move to me. The other two dab page entries get more views but I don't think they warrant consideration here, "Rodney" being apparently known by his middle name and "Billy" being named Wilbur rather than William. - Support per nom - no clear primary topic. (3 page views a day? Yikes.) Move disambiguation page to basename. Paintspot Infez (talk) 20:21, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
