Stalinist influence[edit]

@Soman:, I appreciate the work you did in editing the article as putting together the whole series was difficult. My concern with this edit is that you removed a huge chunk of text that relates directly to the Stalinist aspects that pervaded PCE in this period. As this influence played a major role in the the leftists purges that happened in the latter part of the war, especially in the May Days events, could you provide more clarity on the removal of this information? Is there a way you could re-introduce this information while maintaining a narrative flow and information coherence? --LauraHale (talk) 21:33, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is essentially the Dolchstoßlegende of the left. The notion that the Spanish revolution was going all well until it was betrayed from within is a viewpoint, but hardly factual. Attributing violence between PCE and POUM solely to 'Stalinism' is part and parcel of this narrative. The break between PCE and POUM was not unilateral move from PCE, there was a profound difference in military tactics that ultimately produced a violent confrontation. --Soman (talk) 22:54, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Women in the Communist Party of Spain in the Spanish Civil WarWomen in the Communist Party of Spain – Per other articles on women in the CNT, FAI, POUM and PSOE, this article covers more of the history of women in the PCE than just the civil war, also going over their role in its foundation, during the Second Republic and during the dictatorships of Primo de Rivera and Franco. As such, I'm requesting the "in the Spanish Civil War" part of the title be removed, in order to align it with the scope of the article. Grnrchst (talk) 13:50, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Seems reasonable. SilverStar54 (talk) 17:02, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
