Hi there,

We are the agency representatives of World Sport Group and like to make some factual errors on the page due to changes in the past few years.

We have noticed a couple of sporting events that have been included in this wikipedia entry. However, due to the developments over the years, some of the sporting events are no longer organised by World Sport Group. It would be great if the editors can remove these sports event mentions. They are: - Hero Honda Indian Open - SAIL Open Golf Championship - Volvo Masters of Asia - Omega China Tour

The Group also manages global cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar but is no longer part of the Indian Premier League. Just to make sure that it is factually correct - appreciate if we could remove the mentions of the partnership with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the ground and title naming rights for the Indian National Team’s domestic matches.

Finally, regarding the information on the AFC World Cup Qualifiers 2014, we would like to add that all matches of the 2012 FIFA World Cup – AFC Qualifiers played to date were televised on various television networks around the world, based on the match schedule. Upcoming matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup – AFC Final Round will be aired LIVE on terrestrial and regional television networks across Asia and the rest of the world. In the USA, One World Sports will air all the matches. Fans should check their local TV listings to find out more.

Hi Perseus83. Thanks for using the request edit system. I've numbered and responded to your requests below to make it easier for the next editor that comes by.
  1. Remove several events no longer organized by the World Sports Group.
  2. Remove mentions of the BCCI, because the World Sports Group is no longer part of the Indian Premier League
  3. Add information about how the matches are televised and fans should check their local TV listings
A couple things to keep in mind: (1) History is the most important part of almost any Wikipedia article. We wouldn't want to remove items that are no longer current, but we may move them so they are properly labeled as historical. (2) Everything on Wikipedia is based on independent sources, like media, scholarly works and books. We don't know who you are and have no way of verifying. We need links to where the requested changes can be verified.

Thanks for explaining. Just to make it easier for the editors, please find below the suggested changes or references. We will only focus on the following changes.

How long would it take for editors to change the details/ add references? At this stage and after making the disclosure, can we go ahead and made the edits on our side?

1. Remove several events no longer organized by the World Sports Group: While they are not available as articles or news, the list of events can be found on the WSG website at http://www.worldsportgroup.com/assets/events/football/ and http://www.worldsportgroup.com/assets/events/golf/

2. Add information about how the matches are televised and fans should check their local TV listings.

For #1 as discussed I moved this to a historic section.
Number #2 just sounds like advertising.
For #3 there is an abundance of sources on this controversy. If you like I can take a crack at expanding it and covering the topic neutrally, but I think it would be a balance problem anyway, because the article is equally incomplete on other topics.
Please don't put a "go-ahead" on your own request edit.

World Sport Group → Lagardère Sports – World Sport Group was rebranded by its parent company in 2015, when all of the sports-related divisions were combined into one single division with one name, Lagardère Sports. Here is the press release[1] SixFourThree (talk) 15:23, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose Lagardère Sports was the parent company of World Sport Group according to this press release, may be better split it to two articles and mark World Sport Group as defunct? It is not renamed . It is Lagardère Unlimited renamed into Lagardère Sports and Entertainment, not World Sport Group. Don't Merge Sportfive and World Sport Group into Lagardère Sports and Entertainment, which had different history. In companies world seem they kept pages for Bank of America, Bank of Italy (United States) and Merrill Lynch, unless well written to state in the history section of "Lagardère Sports and Entertainment" for "Lagardère Unlimited", "Sportfive" "World Sport Group" and "IEC in Sports" Matthew_hk tc 20:40, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
More specifically it is Lagardère Unlimited renamed into Lagardère Sports and Entertainment, while Sportfive, World Sport Group and "IEC in Sports" were merged into one brand "Lagardère Sports". And we did not known the detail of which subsidiary acted as a surviving entity that bear the name "Lagardère Sports" and act as a intermediate holding company, but as least in 2008 press release clearly shown the was an entity already known as "Lagardère Sports", that NOT EQUAL TO World Sport Group. May be it is an intermediate company "Lagardère Sports" absorbed the assets of all 5 sports agancies, but not WSG renamed and absorbed other 4. Matthew_hk tc 20:46, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Look like WSG was dismantled (it had Europe business) and renamed into division Lagardère Sports Asia.([3], page 158, the name of the company survived but not brand, page 172) In my opinion it is weird to split Lagardère Sports business into region as lack of information. WSG India, which was a subsidiary of World Sport Group, became the subsidiary of World Sport Group's intermediate parent company Lagardère Unlimited in May 2008, which had contractual dispute. Seem the scope, instead of renaming World Sport Group into Lagardère Sports (but ignoring Lagardère Sports's Europe business was mainly from Sportfive and "IEC in Sports"), but a proposed merger of the history of WSC and Sportfive since they became part of Lagardère Group, into Lagardère Sports and Entertainment as they start to act as one entity and indivisible. Lagardère Sports and Entertainment was formerly known as Lagardère Unlimited. World Sport Group was now known as Lagardère Sports Asia according to 2015 annual report of Lagardère Group, please state clearly what you want to nominate, merging World Sports Group, Sportfive to Lagardère Sports and Entertainment?

Seem just Sportfive GmbH became Lagardère Sports Germany, not sure rest of the Sportfive Group became (Sportfive Signapore, Sportfive Italy, Sportfive International, Sportfive UK), better create a new article Lagardère Sports to cover Lagardère Sports Germany and Lagardère Sports Asia. Comment Should it be closed and start a new discussion on turning World Sport Group and Sportfive to a redirect to either Lagardère Sports or Lagardère Sports and Entertainment, OR start a fresh article without redirect from the predecessors? Sportfive UK had became Lagardère Sports UK, so it is hard to just rename World Sport Group and Sportfive, but put them as a preserve article for defunct company, and start a fresh one. Moreover, WSG India was not belong to World Sport Group since 2008, but belongs to Lagardère Unlimited, just merging World Sport Group and Sportfive into one article cannot significantly present their history before they were acquired by Lagardère Group in 2006–08. It look really a mess than Sportfive S.A. had renamed into Lagardère Sports S.A.S. (id: 873 803 456) but not Lagardère Sports and Entertainment (id: 453 759 078) that previously known as Lagardère Sports, according to 2007 Lagardère Group Annual Report and France database. Comment I could support closing this and beginning a new discussion to merge all articles on the former entities into Lagardère Sports and Entertainment. LeSports[edit]

The claim that LeSports bought 20% in World Sport Group may be false, as World Sport Group became defunct in the same year. thus removed from the content of both articles. Matthew_hk tc 17:08, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
