Proof of Hitler telling Matsuoka of Barbarossa please
[edit]I like this article, it's concise and points out some facts not generally known or focused on in our history. That being that it wasn't just Konoe, but the militarists who wanted peace with the USSR and Matsuoka out.
But can you prove where Hitler actually told Matsuoka he was going to invade Russia and wanted Japanese help in June 1941?
Especially since that was only April of 1941 Matsuoka worked so hard in trying to ally with Stalin settling for the Japanese-Soviet Neutrality Pact in the end. And, though maybe a mistake, Japan would honour that neutrality with the USSR to the end when it was they who were betrayed by Stalin just like Hitler betrayed him.
And I think it might be interesting to point out why a Prime Minister couldn't just fire and replace a Foreign Minister in his Cabinet, as that story is definately an important reflection on the man Matsuoka and his place and effect on history. AthabascaCree (talk) 06:26, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Spartacus schoolnet was used twice as a reference in this article. It has been discussed at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard WP:RSN where it has been determined not to be a reliable source to be used as a reference in articles, though it can be used as an External Link.[1] The references have been removed, but not the underlying text, and tags inserted for the former footnotes. Better sources must be found to support the text. Unsourced text may be removed.Fladrif (talk) 16:37, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
Sources to improve this article
[edit]While searching for a better source for Mr. Matsuoka's graduating U of O I came across a "letter to the editor" written by him long before Hitler and all that Jazz. I thought a future editor might be able to use this to improve this article and have left a full citation for that purpose.
