Year of death? The article contradicts itself. The intro states his years of life as "(1642-1681)" but later in the article, there is the statement "Zheng Jing participated in a failed battle against the Qing empire in 1681. He died in 1683." So in what year did he really die? The Zheng Keshuang claims that Keshuang "succeeded his father Zheng Jing in 1681". —Lowellian (reply) 02:43, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How did he die?

[edit]

I looked at the Chinese Wikipedia page for Zheng Jing and it it contradicts itself over how he died.

It first states: '死因的记载江日昇《台湾外记》云:“经因纵欲过度,痔疮暴胀,大肠紧闭,医治无效……徐而胀痛难堪,叫喊遂卒……”', which Google translates to: 'The record of the cause of death, Jiang Risheng's "Taiwan Wai Ji", states: "Due to excessive indulgence, the hemorrhoids swelled, the large intestine was closed, and the treatment was ineffective... Xu and the pain were embarrassing, screaming and dying..."'

It then states: '姚启圣奏书中则称:“又本年四月二十四日,据漳州府龙溪县送到伪官廖康方禀称……伪藩于正月二十五日夜中风不语,至二十八夜丑时身故……”', which Google translates to: 'Yao Qisheng's memorial said: "On April 24th of this year, according to the report sent to the puppet official Liao Kangfang from Longxi County, Zhangzhou Prefecture... The puppet vassal suffered a stroke on the night of the twenty-fifth day of the first lunar month, and died on the twenty-eighth night... ”'

But right after it says: "等不同说法", which means that there are many other versions of how Zheng died. Mucube (talk) 03:02, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
