- hook short enough, article long enough, no copyvio, all sourced, however dynamic markings should be linked in the hook for the non-music aficionado, and I would also state "red ink" same as in the article, IMHO. Perhaps also say,
"first in his three chorale compositions,
......and he then continued to do so for life"
(note the opening comma). I think that will still be under 200 characters (?) If you can edit the hook a wee bit I can approve it. Montanabw(talk) 02:23, 30 July 2016 (UTC)- I confess that I'd prefer to leave "dynamic markings" unlinked, because dynamic means something to every reader, - we only have to make curious, not teach, on the Main page. (Ask Andy, who would not even link Reger.) I removed "ink" in the article, as the source only says "mit Rot", not which medium. Teach me grammar: can I say: "he did something, first here, and then he continued". You can word it, as long as you don't insert new facts. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:20, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
- The term should be linked in the article; but not the hook. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:38, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

OK, so I can let go of the linking (though I'm a fan of it), and if we can't verify "ink", then perhaps as is or some other word (maybe " in red on the score of ..."??) but "written in 1892 at age 19, then for life" is a grammatical problem, try what I suggested above, I made it green to make it easy to see, and I used italics to highlight my suggested new language... I can't rewrite the hook, else you'll need another reviewer... Andy might also be able to help "massage" this language. Montanabw(talk) 03:59, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
- How is this?
- ALT1: ... that Max Reger (pictured) began in three choral compositions, Drei Chöre, Op. 6, his lifetime practice of writing dynamic markings in red, at the age of 19? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:44, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
That works, good to go with ALT1. Montanabw(talk) 22:39, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
- Can I suggest: Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:53, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
- ALT2: ... that, at the age of 19 while composing Drei Chöre, Op. 6, Max Reger (pictured) began his lifetime practice of writing dynamic markings in red?
- I like that too, and I think it's an improvement in phrasing. If Gerda Arendt is OK with it I will go ahead and adjust my pass to the new ALT2. Gerda? Montanabw(talk) 19:38, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
- If you 2 think so, - but I miss telling people who don't know German that it is choral music. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:52, 1 August 2016 (UTC)

Good to go with ALT2. (Yes, I think so, but people can still tell that it's a music piece, at least). Montanabw(talk) 20:34, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
