Image copyright problem with Image:RSPBA.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:RSPBA.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Untagged image
An image you uploaded, Image:Chainearms.gif, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 06:07, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- I've updated the tag with one that I think will be acceptable for the image to remain on the page. --Alekjds 09:25, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Slight error
No big thing, but I just wanted to let you know of a small error. You slapped hyper cow for speedy deletion, which at the time when you did so, looked like nonsense, but actually it's just a page with a stupid sounding name that at the time was victim of a full-page copy-and-paste vandalism. -Zepheriah 02:46, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for letting me know. The page seems a bit like an advertisement to me now, but I guess since it's defunct and somewhat notable (caffeinated milk?), it will stay. Alekjds 02:49, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Cyssero
Hate to say it, but I don't think this one can be speedied. There is an assertion of notability in the upcoming release from an actual label. Doesn't look like there's enough to meet WP:MUSIC, but enough to escape speedy deletion. It will need AFD.
On the question of removing tags, make sure you familiarize yourself with the warning tags: {{drmspeedy}}, {{drmspeedy2}}, {{drmspeedy3}}, {{drmspeedy4}}. Use them in order. After an editor ignores #4, they can be reported at WP:AIV. The full list of standard templates is at WP:UTTM. -- Fan-1967 03:09, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tips. Alekjds 03:11, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Good stuff on Corbinian, by the way! --Wetman 06:07, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks. It's appreciated. I wouldn't have personally thought when I started revamping it that it would yield anything close to what it did. --Alekjds 06:30, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Don't look like a vandal. Please provide an edit summary when you edit.
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Will (Talk - contribs) 07:25, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

no problem. I was regretting writin that article. I'm gonna come back and rewrite it, or either create a new article under the same name, after some more gathering of research. By the way, why are you up so late?Odst 09:29, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Saints
Alex, thanks for your expansion of Saint Achillius. The edits you made addressed my concerns with the article. I notice that you do a fair amount of editing of saints. Not that wikipedia WP:NCWC recommend leaving "Saint" out of the title of articles (the Saints Wikiproject notes the same thing, "says that saints go by their most common English name, minus the "Saint"). As someone who has been working to get article titles in line with this policy, I thank you for the changes you have made in article titles along these lines. Pastordavid 21:38, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree ... most online sources are biased toward the Roman side of things. I try to back up these online sources with print resources, but even then most English-language print resources are still biased toward the Western/Latin tradition. It is a blindspot in Western hagiography, and I am happy to be corrected by those more familiar with the western tradition than I.
- Personally, I try to avoid Catholic online, I find it to be a little too spammy - too many ads, not enought (reliable) content. My preference, for online hagiography, is the Catholic Encyclopedia and the Catholic Forum.
- BTW, the article looks great. Pastordavid 22:39, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:1180-71-8.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:1180-71-8.gif. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Large_Crest_with_spirit.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Large_Crest_with_spirit.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. — Rebelguys2 talk 05:08, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, the best way is just for us to both be lazy and let the orphaned image deletion notice run its course. Thanks for the message. — Rebelguys2 talk 05:20, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
Book of Ezekiel
Alex ... I believe that it was John Carter who placed the Saints infobox on that page. He could probably provide you with his rationale ... I only mention it, because there are probably other similar articles and we should be consistent. -- Pastordavid 21:46, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- If you were to check the page July 21 (Eastern Orthodox liturgics), you would find that the name "Ezekiel" on the list links to the page Book of Ezekiel. I myself had some serious reservations about including it, but decided that the section of the page which more or less functions as the biography of Ezekiel, considering it is the biography of a recognized saint of at least the Eastern Orthodox Church (I haven't checked all the other churches yet to verify whether he's included there or not), we might in time add the saints infobox to the biography section. There is at least one existing precedent, on the Pontius Pilate page, for the addition of an infobox to a specific section of an article. I can honestly see how someone might be more than a bit confused by it, however, so have no objections to the removal of both the banner and the infobox tab if you so see fit. I wish the Bible Project, which I think would cover the article more directly, were a bit more active than it is, but it seemingly isn't. If and when I get what I'm trying to do with the saints project more or less done, I may try to shift some of my attention there. Sorry again for any confusion. John Carter 14:54, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Possible renaming of Wikipedia:WikiProject Saints
It has been suggested that the above named project be renamed Wikipedia:WikiProject Christian saints. Please express your opinion on this proposed renaming, and the accompanying re-definition of the scope of the project, here. John Carter 16:51, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Infoboxes
Alex, I just added a generic biography infobox to Hildegard, with a note on the talk page as well. Let's see if that works as a compromise for now. -- Pastordavid 21:28, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Biretta.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Biretta.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Vandalism
It appears that you are trying to report an IP-vandal on WP:AIV. You do not seem to have provided us with an IP number, without which we cannot track him/her down.--Anthony.bradbury 20:32, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Chaîne des Rôtisseurs
Dear Alekjds,
As an officer of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, I have been in contact with the Paris Headquarters of the Châine in order to clarify the use of their various logos used in the articles. (I have translated yours to German and will also do one in Spanish.)
They have given me provisional approval to use the logos; after checking with their legal department they will chose a Copyright-Tag for the logos and photos that will appear in the future.
Thank you for the good work.
Kind regards

Copyvio?
I suggest you have a good look at Wikipedia:Copyrights. Your Henri Bellechose (ar at least the version I saw) was little more than a verbatim, wikified version of the Artnet page. Please make sure, when using material from sources, to formulate them in your own words to avoid such problems. Circeus 04:12, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
