Well, creating the article isn't a problem. What is a problem is whther or not this is a notable website. The Alexa ranking has to be pretty high. With something like three billion websites of all sizes, Wikipedia has to be pretty choosy. Tell you what: I'll restore the article and hand an "under construction" template on it. That'll give you time to research the subject and establish its notability. Good luck. - Lucky 6.9 02:22, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Oops! My bad! I thought it was a link to a website. I should have looked at it more carefully after writing a 6,000-character article at Thomas Organ Company. I didn't know that it was a system developed by Tiger Electronics. That makes it pretty darn notable. Sorry about the mixup. - Lucky 6.9 02:25, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Not a problem. It's easy to make a mistake when doing new pages patrolling and I sometimes get my head torn off via the internet by an angry user. Thank you for being so kind. You made my day.

Well, heck! You bet you can call me "friend." I'm honored! Let's see what we can do with that deleted article before I call it a night. Spent most of the day wrenching on my son's car. I'm pooped! :) - Lucky 6.9 02:45, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Are you having problems with people vandalizing your talk page? I'll check the history. I can semi-protect it so that new users can't mess with it. - Lucky 6.9 15:51, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Protected user page

Done deal. :) - Lucky 6.9 21:47, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Doin' good!

I just cleaned up an article and I'll be signing off for the night, but I'll take a whack at it tomorrow. Looks like a good start to the new article. - Lucky 6.9 03:53, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Kirbytime

He "gotcha" the same way he got me. He has a fake message alert on his talk page. Just having fun, I guess. :) - Lucky 6.9 06:54, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to the "Wacky Wikipedia!" A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer in your pants...wokka-wokka! Ah, but seriously: Every so often, it's fun to look at the lighter side. You can spend hours browsing BJAODN. That's "Bad jokes and other deleted nonsense." Some weird stuff winds up there. A lot of it is so funny you'll laugh up a lung. - Lucky 6.9 07:10, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

A pleasure. Getting late on my side of the planet, so I'll say good night. - Lucky 6.9 07:16, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Whoops...!

ILE, you can't post copyrighted material like the Hoobastank song lyrics you just posted. That sort of thing isn't compatible with Wikipedia's licensing. Had to delete it as a result. It's OK to write about the song, but avoid adding lyrics. You can link to a site that reposts lyrics, MIDI files, etc. - Lucky 6.9 07:20, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Page moves

That's something you can do yourself when you're logged on. The "move" tab is second from the left. The original title becomes an automatic redirect. - Lucky 6.9 06:22, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Userboxes

Good question; I've never created one, so I can't be of help. You might want to leave word at the help desk. Someone there can point you to the template and perhaps help you with creating something. Not that you need any more userboxes, mind you. :)) - Lucky 6.9 07:16, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Yup. Lots o' userboxes. Seems like you have a lot of interests! - Lucky 6.9 07:50, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Sure. You should edit a wide variety of articles and participate in at least one featured article. Heck, I'll nominate you down the line if you keep up the good work! - Lucky 6.9 07:56, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

You got it. I'm signing off for the night, however. I can't even type straight. - Lucky 6.9 08:01, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

PS: Thanks for the compliment. I am but a humble worker drone.

Website

Sure! Lay it on me. Just playing around here at work, so I probably won't get back to you right away. - Lucky 6.9 01:54, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Having fun on the talk pages. :) Kind of hard to do anything else here at work. - Lucky 6.9 02:49, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Not my personal site, no. Just the work site. - Lucky 6.9 02:54, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

My bad. Click on the "Community Portal" link on the upper left below the Wikipedia globe. - Lucky 6.9 02:55, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

No prob. That's what talk pages are for. As for Yu-Gi-Oh, I'd have to say no. Tried the cartoon, didn't care for it. Also, I don't like card games. Can't really explain it. My hobbies include radio controlled models and tinkering with old cars. I have a 1965 Ford Mustang that I've owned since I was 16 (almost 46 now!) and it's coming out of my garage after nine years of being parked there. Coming along nicely, I might add. I also have a '78 Mercedes-Benz 6.9 (hence the user name) and I just picked up a '69 Ford Ranchero with a 302 and C-4 automatic for a whopping $1000. Worth more like $5700. Fixing the power steering tomorrow so that I can turn around and resell it. Need to fix the window regulators and door latches and she'll be good to go. Got it with a new timing chain, new water pump, near-new tires, glasspack mufflers, and a new Edelbrock "Performer 289" intake manifold with an Edelbrock/Weber four-barrel carb. This little truck flies! - Lucky 6.9 04:03, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article PK-PenguinKnights, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:PK-PenguinKnights. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. --Daveydweeb (chat/patch) 05:06, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on DigitalNetWork2, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain web site, blog, forum, or other community of web users that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. If you plan to provide more notable material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately, and also put a note on Talk:DigitalNetWork2. An administrator should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 1 under Articles. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such material. -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 21:53, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Panjyamon.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

License tagging for Image:Midnight Mansion.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Midnight Mansion.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:08, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Panjyamon.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Panjyamon.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 01:58, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:DustBuster.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 21:34, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Landel_MailBug.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Landel_MailBug.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 23:55, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Perfection Vacuum Cleaner, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Perfection Vacuum Cleaner is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Perfection Vacuum Cleaner, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 03:02, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

I won't delete it - I only marked it as a candidate for deletion. Someone else will review it and either delete it or remove the tag. To avoid deletion you should add references to indicate why that vacuum cleaner is sufficiently notable to warrant inclusion in the encyclopedia. Sbowers3 (talk) 03:12, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
I recommend that you read Wikipedia:Notability. Sbowers3 (talk) 03:25, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Not every subject is worth including in an encyclopedia. To oversimplify, Wikipedia's definition of notability is whether there are newspapers or magazines that have written about a subject. If they have, then those articles will serve as references to verify the notability of the subject. The references really matter - without them an article is likely to be deleted no matter how well written it otherwise is. Sbowers3 (talk) 03:42, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

I have denied the request. Notability is not a speedy criteria, that is to be decided via PROD or AFD. I can clearly understand it (not A1/G1), and it's not promotional at all (not G11), so. But Sbowers3 is right, so make sure to find some secondary sourcing. hbdragon88 (talk) 05:59, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:The Sweepmaster.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:The Sweepmaster.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Hi There. I've blanked your monobook per the request we have received via OTRS ticket number 2007121310006701. If this wasn't really you let me know and I will revert my blanking. ---J.S (T/C/WRE) 19:09, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you! Brianga (talk) 07:44, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
