History[edit]

Origin[edit]

Construction of Central Rama 2 began in November 2000 by K-TECH construction public company limited with a 4075 million baht budget. The client is Central Pattana (Thai: เซ็นทรัลพัฒนา จำกัด (มหาชน)) PCL. This project included a five-storey building with a basement. Central Rama 2 has a total usage area of 260,000 sq. m. and the total area is 96 rai of land (Park area: 37 rai of land) including architecture, power line and M&E works. "The galaxy of the universe" serve as the center's theme.

Renovation[edit]

Central Plaza Rama2 will be completely renovated and re-invented with new designs, new stores, improvements on the existing stores, and all anchor business units of Central Group (such as TOPS, CDS and B2S) will expand and improve their spaces to support the growth of purchasing power in this catchment area. SET-listed retail and property developer Central Pattana PCL (CPN) is to invest 1.2 billion baht in the shopping mall Central Rama 2 to give it a new look and transform it into an urban landscape.

The renovation of Central Rama 2 was based on the company's aim of creating a "landmark destination" in every major city, according to Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, executive vice-president for marketing at CPN. The business claimed that Central Rama 2's renovation would enable the mall in south Bangkok to accommodate the needs and way of life of all generations. He pointed out that Central Rama 2 has elevated local residents' quality of life and connected green areas with the shopping center.

The mall will introduce new zones for restaurants under the concept of "The infinite taste" and "Tree chamber", featuring 300 popular restaurants including world-renowned restaurants and cafes, ranging from street food-style eateries to Michelin-starred restaurants from the ground floor to the fourth floor. The upgraded mall is to be led by Tops Club, Thailand's first membership-driven supermarket, which sells food and consumer goods from around the world. In addition, the revamp will also cover the Central department store, Central Food Hall, SuperSports, Power Buy x B2S, OfficeMate, and Auto1.
