Hi there DODO, how are you?

Sorry for the late reply, happy holidays to you! Will check this article like you requested today after dinner. Just one quick note before i leave you my final thoughts/suggestions: your English does not suck, no way, quite satisfactory!

Kind regards, "see" you later --Quite A Character (talk) 16:57, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

DONE, finally, very good job overall! Let's go bit by bit: 1 - I usually don't write that "he will join X or Y club" in the introduction, I leave it in the proper part of storyline and when the player joins his new club then I update the box and the said intro, if you want it back revert me there and sorry for any inconvenience; 2 - I noticed that you piped some clubs and not others, since you like them piped I helped out in that department (and Steaua was overlinked); 3 - always crucial to source (in this case) a player's Liga I debut, I took care of that for you; 4 - we must translate the refs as accurately as possible, even when terms used are not very "normal" when related to this or that subject. So, if the reference #13 speaks about a "hijack", that's what we must write; 5 - even though his style of play section mentions his midfield versatility, no mentions (at least that I can see) of him being a winger, I removed the category (if you think I made a gross mistake there, again revert me and accept my apologies); 6 - I see there is a Turkish Fanatik and a Romanian one, is the one in your country also a newspaper or a magazine? If so, we must adjust the field (from "publisher" to "newspaper").

Until some other time, continue the good work --Quite A Character (talk) 10:32, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

From what I see at Morutan, unfortunately yes, seems to have several IPs from where to "contribute" :( --Quite A Character (talk) 14:02, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

  • You got it! If the club's name is not FCSB then we must not write that in the articles, it looks horrible! Any suggestions? --Quite A Character (talk) 14:25, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

I think i understand. Plus, i give up trying to make the display any neater because this countryman of yours (see here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/82.137.9.167) has started to get all hysterical in edit summaries, great "interaction"! --Quite A Character (talk) 16:15, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

I was occupied with other stuff, and now it's getting kind of late for me. Tomorrow, i'll have a look no problem. --Quite A Character (talk) 00:18, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

  • Stanciu "inspected", as nearly always excellent work from your part! Only two things: 1 - until we display all references in the same way (if you notice, there are sources written manually and there are refs with all the different fields (URL/title/publisher/date/etc), i think it's neater to leave all the refs of the second case displayed as "publisher" and not "newspaper"; 2 - i notice you do that a lot, but we must "reduce" the mentions of transfer speculation in football articles - EVEN if referenced - after all, this is an encyclopedia, in fact i think (not 100% sure, i admit it) we are to mention them at all; oh, and i think Daily Mail has become unreliable for Wikipedia, i remember a discussion in the past about this.

Best regards, from Portugal --Quite A Character (talk) 21:38, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

  • No bro, I did not mean TRANSFER FEE (the Anderlecht and Sparta P. record transfer stories are very interesting and 100% worth mentioning), I meant TRANSFER SPECULATION when you write "Besiktas wanted him", or another club wanted X/Y player. Like I said before, congratulations on another great contribution to WP :) --Quite A Character (talk) 09:28, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Salut! E foarte corect cum ai spus tu, according to the Romanian press, foarte bine. Imi place, esti baiat destept! O zi buna sa ai! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.113.91.72 (talk) 11:38, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

Hello there (and great win for Steaua against the "Italians" of Lazio, by the way!), kind fellow user,

seems quite OK from what i have seen, nice work. I don't think - regarding your doubt - WBA must go in his senior infobox, if he signed a pro contract but never actually played for them. UNLESS he has played for the under-23 team, the Premier League has another competition for that level.

Cheers --Quite A Character (talk) 21:59, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

  • According to this, they are considered YOUTH competitions, so apparently it belongs in the youth part of the box and not the senior one. If I were you, I would ask at WP:FOOTY just to be sure, I don't want to provide you with false information or mislead you. --Quite A Character (talk) 09:45, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Florin Gardos

Hi Can you explain why you changed the order of the parameters in the citation that I added recently. I used the drop down citeweb template which decides the order for itself. As the order in which the parameters appear in the final display is fixed by the template, your edits seems completely pointless. Best wishes. 94.119.64.19 (talk) 16:23, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Grammar

Hello there,

even though (I think) i learned many many years ago in school that ALL vowels were supposed to have "an" written before them in sentences, i think in many cases (or all? Maybe grammatical rule has changed) you write "a" before any word starting with U (for example "a UEFA", "a Uruguayan"). Glad to be of help.

Of course, Steaua did not have a chance against the "Italians" of Lazio, hopefully they'll also be eliminated soon. Not because of vengeance, but because they SUCK (in Italian football, benches with 11/12 players - don't know if more - are allowed, and most of the times Lazio only have THREE/FOUR national players in the entire squad)! But in this week, the real tragedy in Italian/world football was the death of Davide Astori, RIP!

Cheers --Quite A Character (talk) 21:11, 7 March 2018 (UTC)

  • Nope, Lazio is not OK, they are pretty much the same as City and Chelsea, at least Real Madrid, Bayern or PSG buy some national talent (but I don't support any of those either, if I supported one I have already told you what my choice would be). And I absolutely despise a team like this one - and they compete in a SECOND DIVISION, I imagine next season will be worse! - see the squad and you'll understand why (a team full of manager buddies!), unfortunately, they have achieved promotion I am 99,999999999999999% sure.

And you should see my country's LigaPro, I don't think there is a team with less than 10 foreigners, and some have almost 20... --Quite A Character (talk) 15:03, 8 March 2018 (UTC)

Hello there, let's go bit by bit...

1 - minor intro fixes, nothing hurt; 2 - i know it probably has nothing to do with you, but i don't understand why some users have those gigantic spaces in the infoboxes, i tried to "match" their display; 3 - storyline, a few adjustments here and there; 4 - regarding the refs that appear in storyline, i don't like (i just think it's anesthetic) to write ".com" or similar in the publisher fields, unless we already have that article here, like Sport.ro or Gong.bg; 4 - INT'L CAREER, i personally would not add it unless he was really called (and quite probably he will), but that's OK (especially because of that, the odds are VERY HIGH :)); 5 - i removed some overlinking in the chart of statistics below and personal life, and i adjusted the first headline in the club career (leaving just "Early years / Viitorul", it's implied we are talking about that club, if we leave the city also it makes for an enormous title).

You also asked to pay especially attention to the wording of (other than the intro and the int'l career) the style of play section. Seems quite good, i only altered the tense of one verb. Again, very good overall work on your part, hopefully i contributed too.

Take care, until some other time --Quite A Character (talk) 21:53, 15 March 2018 (UTC)

  • "Allows/allow", you are definitely correct there, my bad! I have corrected wording following your tip, nice work --Quite A Character (talk) 16:37, 17 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi there mate, just saw the goal video on the internet, great work from the lad. I remember his uncle at the 1990 FIFA World Cup, much more defensive player (yes, 1990, I am that old :(). Contra is putting together a very interesting squad full of youngsters (and Sapu, does not seem to age!).

Very good work on your part in the article as always, but I'll have a closer look next week or so to see if anything needs to be adjusted. Have an happy Easter, cheers! --Quite A Character (talk) 11:00, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

Fotbalul romanesc

Salut.

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Mihai.zamfir30 (talkcontribs) 17:09, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

SVG Images

Please don't convert PNG, GIF, or JPEG images to SVG before uploading. SVG files should be used for images that are vector images, but all the SVG files you have uploaded are simply the original raster images wrapped inside an SVG wrapper. This is not only misleading, but it makes the file size larger and makes the images display poorly. In the future, upload the images in their original format. Thank you. --Ahecht (TALK

Steaua's name approach

Hi there man, all well?

In spite of being constantly reverted with his several IPs, your compatriot continues to write the club's name as FCSB (new address here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:89.42.149.68)! I have already reverted in the team players where i edit in (Artur Jorge Marques Amorim, Constantin Budescu and Filipe Teixeira, but i know this person has fucked up more pages than three).

Cheers, happy editing --Quite A Character (talk) 15:08, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

  • I see, thanks for updating me on that situation. However, until the WP article is changed to reflect the final court decision, "(FC) Steaua Bucuresti" should remain.

Teixeira always seemed to me a very interesting player, I sure as hell do not understand how come he never had good offers to play in Portugal (or maybe he did, and he just chose to play abroad because he's an adventurer!)... Camora? A legend!

Cheers --Quite A Character (talk) 08:51, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

  • I would not say so, because if the intro and the box say he plays for CFR Cluj, to have a header just with "Cluj" would not be misleading. But I respect your approach. --Quite A Character (talk) 08:23, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
@Quite A Character: Sorry because I interfere in your talk :)), I know that in Europe CFR Cluj is known mostly as Cluj, but in Romania, and especially in Cluj a statement like this would born a lot of complaints, in Cluj are 3 teams: FC Universitatea Cluj, CFR Cluj and Sănătatea Cluj. But the first two are bitter rivals and even CFR has more trophies than Universitatea, CFR was mainly in the 3rd tier for 30 years and Universitatea was almost always between the first two tiers. Universitatea has 80-85% of Cluj-Napoca supporters, CFR's supporters being mostly only from Gruia neighbourhood. (Rhinen)

Thanks, User:Rhinen! Now, for more Steaua stuff: i created a report at WP:FOOTY, received ZERO WORDS in reply! --Quite A Character (talk) 15:57, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

@Quite A Character: I did something similar a long time ago, there is little to no interest in this subject I see.8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 18:36, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

Then, could you please: 1 - have a word in Romanian (although English could be fine as well, person shows in their edit summaries that they understand language well enough) with your compatriot (seems to be using the User:Nickoala27 account now); 2 - help revert their actions? Whichever you prefer, of course! --Quite A Character (talk) 22:08, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

@Quite A Character: I left a message on Nickoala's talk page. Could you also vote on here regarding the name?8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 09:20, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

FCSB

  • Dodo, the other user has replied to you in their talkpage, shouting as usually. What did they say? --Quite A Character (talk) 15:21, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

Why?

Mate, AFTER i wrote an hysterical summary i found out it was you who did the edit, but why did you remove the FORADEJOGO and ZEROZERO external links on Paulo Vinícius (footballer, born 1984), when he had an extremely important career in my country (and, to top it, FDJ is 100% reliable)? I have reinstated them, still today i will complete the storyline.

Continue the good work --Quite A Character (talk) 16:00, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

  • Ah, never deduced that! I am going to complete PV's storyline now, please don't edit there now to avoid edit conflicts. Salut! --Quite A Character (talk) 20:16, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

Almost finishing PV... About Steaua, well my friend, that's the "beauty" of sport turned into a BUSINESS of mastodontic proportions. And have you heard what happened last week in Sporting CP's training centre? --Quite A Character (talk) 22:48, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

Done! You did a great job with his Cluj storyline (and User:Rhinen also helped a bit) and i completed it with the Portuguese one. Good teamwork fellows :) --Quite A Character (talk) 22:58, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

  • That's where you can come in man :) Maybe a ref in Romanian to cover the sentence that "He was an undisputed starter in his first year/season (he only missed two games, correct?), as the team/club won the fourth national championship in its/their history". I have already added the wording, please help out! --Quite A Character (talk) 12:31, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

Found this one (Vinícius' importance is more or less established, and i think it already mentions them being champions, because Alex Paun is saying in that interview the team needs to be reinforced because of next season's Champions League - the same bullshit again, for 99% of the teams it means BUY MORE FOREIGNERS!), if you think you can do better (and I am very sure you can) please add more stuff or remove.

P.S. In this one, the date was not clear (the page only said "17 and Tuesday"), but since i (think i) read there the team were already champions i deduce the interview/article is from MAY. --Quite A Character (talk) 18:53, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

CSA Steaua

I restored a bit of the history in the lead as I think it's important to explain it quickly to people who are just learning about this situation or maybe clicked on the 'wrong' Steaua page. I agree that text was maybe looking like CSA had the history when the RFC concluded that it should not say so. I have tried to reword it now to emphasise that FCSB is currently considered the successor, if you want to have a look? Crowsus (talk) 10:23, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Steaua 2015 Logo.svg

Thanks for uploading File:Steaua 2015 Logo.svg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:49, 12 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi there,

like i told you last year or so, could not care less about Portugal, especially when the narcissistic one scores three goals! If tomorrow was not Saturday, i bet many of my compatriots (most?!) would like it to be a national holiday. I refuse to watch a game of this national team, don't want to have to hear the idiotic commentators say "Who's playing in our team? Oh, the best in the world (repeating it like 30 times during the broadcast) and 10 others"... So, accordingly, i did not watch this one! I don't have any problem admitting to you i'm not a normal football fan, far from it (and i don't mean this as a self-compliment or the opposite, just stating the reality)...

Regarding your question, i'm afraid it's true, this punk is now making Gigi Becali look like a monk :) Enjoy your weekend --Quite A Character (talk) 20:48, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
