Let's get this on DYK

[edit]

If we can sort out all the problems in the next four days, this article will be eligible for DYK. I suggest we make this one of the short term goals of this article. Nathan121212 (talk) 16:35, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I could help with some of the grunt work; e.g., adding archive parameters to existing refs; unless it's felt that should wait until the article stabilizes a little. Or anything else needed that doesn't require a lot of familiarity with the article or subject. Mandruss (talk) 16:48, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

More sections

[edit]

Because of some issues, this draft was hastily made ready to move to the article mainspace. These sections have been removed from the draft so it can be moved into the mainspace without having empty sections, but should be added at some point.

  • Cost: Figures/commentary about price of search; info about division of costs shared among countries/airline/insurers

As subsections of Southern Indian Ocean/First phase:

  • Satellite images: Section to provide overview of the possible "debris". This is noteworthy in its own section because, after extensive analysis of the satellite communications, the most likely location of MH370 hitting the water and the subject of the search beginning in August is around the area searched 20-28 March.
  • Drift analysis : Information about how drifting of debris on the surface relates to the possible crash site. This is discussed in some detail in the ATSB report.
  • : Needs better title. Expanded content needed, but shouldn't be copied from "MH370#Analysis of satellite communication" section. Rather, provide an account of how this analysis shifted focus to Straight of Malacca and then S Indian Ocean. Also note when PM concluded flight ended in Indian Ocean.

As a subsection of Cooperation:

  • Civilian assistance: List offers of help from civilian agencies, scientific organizations/companies, etc. Also note Tomnod.

The section "Southern Indian Ocean>Third Phase" could be split into subsections for the bathymetric & underwater surveys. AHeneen (talk) 03:34, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
