Editing the lead

I just noticed your edit to the lead of love. You should be especially careful when editing the lead of established articles. You seem to be suggesting that the definition you added trumps what was already there and that brainyquotes is more reliable that already used sources. This is most likely not considered a useful addition. Also note that the lead is typically a summary of the remaining article and no citations are added for the lead. Ah and I see that you were reverted once and you have repeated the addition. This again is not a good idea. Under these circumstances, and if you really think there is a point that can be supported, you should take your suggestion to the discussion/talk page. Shyamal (talk) 05:20, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

:@Shyamal:-  Brainy quotes was just the reference, it was Robert Frost who gave the definition and I thought it needs to be up there.  I realize the problem though,  I should take things like this first to the talk page and discuss it there.

Brainy quotes has a huge number of quotes = https://www.brainyquote.com/topics/love - so why would you think that constitutes a "definition"? Yes, so editing Wikipedia and being reverted should make you think more critically and hopefully not make you feel bad about it. Shyamal (talk) 05:45, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

@Shyamal:- Would there be less chance of edits getting reverted if I would have given Frost's Book as a reference?

It would still be reverted especially if you are intent on poking it into the lead. If you read right through the article and find the appropriate point to introduce what I think is a quote and not a "definition" then perhaps it would work. There is also a site called en.wikiquote.org where your quote could be added without much opposition. Shyamal (talk) 16:06, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
