  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Hello, your article for creation is currently being reviewed. The initial results are promising that the article will be approved. There are minor issues which some will be corrected and others hopefully you can also correct. When the article is set for a final disposition you will be notified on your talk page. I found the article that you are referring to: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Ali Brown.

Before I come to your actual questions, there are some more important issues to address;

Given your user-name, I assume that you are the subject of the article? In which case, before anything else, please read WP:AUTO. When you have such a conflict of interest, it is quite difficult to write an autobiographic article, and we advise people not to do so; it is so very difficult to be neutral, and to only use facts supported by appropriate reliable sources.

At the moment, we cannot make the article live, mostly because it does not show references for most of the information. All of the facts in the article should come from independent, reliable sources - that is, things like magazine and newspapers, but not press-releases. We try to avoid primary sources wherever possible.

These references should be formatted "in line". I will add some help on that, below.

In answer to your question, the article should probably be called "Ali Brown", if that is the name you most commonly use. For example, we have Bill Clinton, not "William Jefferson Clinton". We can then have redirects, which means that e.g. William Jefferson Clinton works too.

We also have an article called Ali Brown, as it happens - but notice the italics at the top;

...and thus, we have articles on Alistair Brown (footballer born 1951) and Alistair Brown (footballer born 1985). Your article, if accepted, would become something like "Ali Brown (businessman)" or whatever is appropriate.

I have put the submission 'on-hold', for now, while we try to sort things out. Feel free to make edits to the article while it is on hold. I will also assist you in getting the article in a better position to withstand publication.

If you need more help with any of it, please ask - but the most important thing is, to have neutral, well-referenced facts from independent, reliable sources.

These requests are somewhat time sensitive. To clear any backlogs it is not desirable to maintain an AFC on hold for an extended period of time. 24 hours of no activity is presumed as a negative response and could reject the article for some future recreation. I have stayed active on this article thereby extending the process. The article is close to publication and providing the references requested will almost certainly satisfy the criteria to this end.
