Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at SpaceX. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. Request reason:

Your reason here Andy chen USWCAX 04:03, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 07:31, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Red Star Over China

[edit]

Someone has removed all of your additions, which I think a pity.

But you did put them in the wrong place. I suggest you put it as ==Contents==, after ==Publishing history==. And have === for your categories, to put them at a lower level.

Generally, try to make them match the existing style.--GwydionM (talk) 11:58, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Destroyer. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. - wolf 22:17, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Netherlands. GorillaWarfare (talk) 06:04, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Destroyer, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.
Note: STOP adding unsourced content with improper markup. If don't know what your doing, ASK for help on the talk page or at the Help Desk. You literally just came off a block hours ago, and you are already disrupting multiple articles, despite new warnings. Just Stop.
- wolf 06:17, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon Not going to bother with another warning template. I just removed more unsupported content, about submarine tactics, added to the destroyer article. Again, please stop editing, and seek help. Possibly a mentor. - wolf 06:33, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

added question

[edit]

(edit conflict)Can you explain your editing style? You are jumping back and forth among a half dozen, completely disparate articles, adding unsupported content to each one, only minutes apart. This is part of your problem. Focus on one article (or at least one topic) at time. Review the page, copy/edit if needed, but research it through reliable sources, and then if necessary to improve the page, add or change content, correctly, and cite your source(s) so that your changes are supported. And seriously consider mentorship. - wolf 06:49, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

destroyer, again

[edit]

You just posted a "help me" notice. You haven't asked any questions, despite my prompt. And despite everything I just posted above, and the edits you made to Destroyer that I had to revert... you again just made another unsupported, unexplained edit to that article. Please stop editing articles until you have begun some communication, with me or anyone, here on this talk page. Also, please state (if you can) if English is not your first language. Thanks - wolf 07:02, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Andy, when you post the ((help me)) template, you need to add a question so people know what it is you need help with. Now, since you're indefinitely blocked, I take it you are looking for help getting unblocked. (Yes? No?) But I believe there is also a language barrier here and I think you need someone to help you with English (Yes? No?) And, I believe you speak Chinese (Yes? No?). But let me ask you something, have you tried editing the Chinese Wikipedia? (https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:首页) If you can access it, perhaps that's the way to go, (if you haven't already). Meanwhile, I can try again to find an editor that speaks Chinese to see if they can help you. - wolf 14:32, 23 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I can speak a little english, is there anything I can help?- JIMMYSHJJ 06:15, 24 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Jimmyshjj: Hi, I'm tying to see if I can help this user. You speak Chinese, yes? Can you please try communicating with this user to see if a language barrier is the problem here? If so, maybe we can try and find him a Chinese speaking mentor... (if he can get unblocked). Speaking of which, can you try telling him that repeating this unblock request is a mistake and he should remove it before he loses his talk page access? Thanks - wolf 08:01, 24 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I will try. By the way,is it OK to use Chinese at this page? If not, please tell me, and help me delete them, I will go to Chinese wikipedia to tell him. Thank you-LabMem No.SHJJ Contact Me 08:30, 24 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Andyccr1, and welcome to Wikipedia! While efforts to improve Wikipedia are always welcome, maybe, unfortunately your contributions are not written in English that is good enough to be useful. You appear to be more familiar with Chinese; did you know there is a Chinese Wikipedia? You may prefer to contribute there instead. In any case, welcome to the project, and thank you for your efforts!

  • @Longhair: - Why did you remove talk page access? If you read this page, you can see that I and another editor are trying to help this user establish communication as there is an obvious language barrier. You can also see that I had requested talk page access not be revoked for this very reason. This user has not been disruptive with their talk page, so there was no need to revoke access. Access needs to be restored so that these efforts can continue. - wolf 02:22, 25 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Thewolfchild: Undone. My talk page restriction was in response to a request posted at WP:ANI [1]. I apologise for my lack of a deeper look into the situation. -- Longhair\talk 02:26, 25 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Follow up

[edit]

@Jimmyshjj: and @Ehime:, have you been able communicate with Andyccr? Do you have any kind of update? Thanks - wolf 22:02, 25 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Thewolfchild:: Thank you for helping him! This user has an account on Tencent Messenger. Is there anything to tell him? I will repeat it (in Chinese).--Ehime«» 14:08, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ehime: Hi, thanks for the reply. I was just wondering if you and/or Jimmy, in communicating with Andy, had come to any conclusions. Is there indeed too much of a language barrier (iow, not versed enough in English) for Andyccr1 to edit the English Wikipedia? Will he try editing the Chinese Wikipedia instead? Thanks - wolf 21:09, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, do you know "USWCAX" means? He kept adding it to his unblock requests. Thanks again - wolf 21:20, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Thewolfchild: I'm now trying to contact him via Tencent QQ (an instant messaging softwafe), however, I haven't get any response these days. I guess it's because his school (he's now in junior high school) didn't allow students use mobile phone on weekdays. I will ask him what 'USWCAX' means later. As he is only in Grade Nine (Chinese students in Grade Nine didn't have a good english level) , the language barrier must exists. It may be too difficult for him to understand something like WP:PG. In my opinion, its too early for him to make contributions in enwiki. Thus, I told him to try to controbute on zhwiki, and he agree. (Ps. The reason why he try to contributes in enwiki instead of zhwiki is that he cannot access to it due to the GFW, I have now told him the way to access the zhwiki.) --LabMem No.SHJJ Contact Me 03:31, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
And, which of the following way is better?
  1. Let him try to {{unblock}} now but do not make any contributions until he learn about the Policies and guidelines and have a better English level,
  2. or, let him {{unblock}} after he learn about the Policies and guidelines and have a better English level?--LabMem No.SHJJ Contact Me 03:36, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Jimmyshjj: Thanks for the info. I suspected it was a language barrier as opposed vandalism, and I didn't want him unfairly labelled a vandal. It's good that he will be able to contribute to the Chinese Wikipedia, and maybe in few years when his English is more proficient, he can possibly return and contribute here. Wish him luck for me.

As for unblocking, ultimately it's his decision, but my advice would be to leave the block be for now. No sense trying to get unblocked if he can't even write his own request or contribute if even he were unblocked. It would likely end up in another decline which wouldn't look good and may end up costing him talk page access. When the time comes that he can contribute effectively enough in English, and he can write his own unblock request, do so then. He'll have everything we said here on his talk page, in support, for any unblock request review admin to consider at that point, and I don't see why he wouldn't be given another chance. I'll keep this page on my watchlist, and if you do as well, then if we see him apply later, we can join in then and help him.

Thanks again to you and Ehime, you both were a great help here and it's appreciated. Take care. - wolf 03:55, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
