Mwng GA review
[edit]Hi there, I've reviewed your nomination of Mwng, and placed it on hold. You can find the review at Talk:Mwng/GA1. --BelovedFreak 18:09, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- I've listed the article as I'm happy with the changes you've made. I've also left a few more comments at the review page for your perusal. Good work!--BelovedFreak 21:42, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, was hoping for a thorough GA review so really appreciate your comments. Although you've passed the article I'm going to try and address your remaining, non GA specific, concerns - is there any chance you could have another look in a few days to see what you think? Cavie78 (talk) 22:04, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, absolutely. I didn't mean to cut it off too soon or anything, but you just sorted my concerns so quickly! As you'll probably gather from some of my comments, I'm more used to what's required at GA than FA, but I'd happily have another look when you're ready. Just let me know. --BelovedFreak 22:14, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Too Much
[edit]Hi Cavie, thanks for taking the time to review the article, and also for the copyedit. Sorry for the late reply, I didn't see the review page before, the other user that was reviewing the article before didn't put the template correctly so I never saw that it was been reviewed and never saw your first comment. I will fix the problems now. Thanks again for your time. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 21:04, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Cavie, again sorry for the delay, I was too busy in real life this past week, I already added the info on the article. Sorry for the incovenience. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 18:01, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

- No problem, was my mistake for not spotting your edit! Good work with the article (goes off to listen to The Spice Girls) Cavie78 (talk) 18:30, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Ice Hockey Hair
[edit]The article Ice Hockey Hair you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Ice Hockey Hair for things which need to be addressed. Adabow (talk · contribs) 08:52, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
- I am happy to pass the article now, but I have left some replies that you may like to follow up on. Adabow (talk · contribs) 00:56, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your review Adabow. Cavie78 (talk) 10:50, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

Oh hey
[edit]I'm not working as much as I used to, or as much as I'd like to, these days. Sometime in the future we need to get around to collaborating on a page (wasn't it The Stone Roses we discussed before)? I'm currently dealing with the FARC for Nirvana (band), which is pretty overwhelming given all the sources I have to deal with. WesleyDodds (talk) 14:11, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- Definitely, would be good to work with someone else, it's a lonely business at the Super Furry coalface! Give me a shout if you ever need a hand with anything, I've only got a few bits and bats on Nirvana but if you want help with formatting/a peer review or whatever let me know. Cavie78 (talk) 14:36, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- Any help assembling sales info would be a great asset. So far I only have the US total for In Utero in the article. WesleyDodds (talk) 13:28, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- No probs, will see what I can do. Cavie78 (talk) 14:45, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks again Requested changes have been made. Does this seem GA-worthy to you now? —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 17:02, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi Cavie78! I'm very happy to see that "Maman a tort" has reached the GA status! Thank you very much for having reviewed this article! Regards, --Europe22 (talk) 17:59, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- No problem, congratulations on your hard work! Cavie78 (talk) 19:00, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi Cavie78! I'm sorry to bother you, but I need your help. I have nominated another article (see Wikipedia:Good article nominations), "On est tous des imbéciles", but a contributor said on the article's talk page that the song is not notable and that the article is poorly written. As I would like to avoid the shame when the article will be reviewed, I would know: how can I withdraw my GA nomination? Is this possible ? Regards, --Europe22 (talk) 15:49, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. I think the song is notable so will definitely vote against any decision to delete the article but if you want to withdraw the GA nom simply delete the GA template from the article's talkpage. Cavie78 (talk) 15:59, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply. I removed the GA template. Regards, --Europe22 (talk) 16:05, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Travis Tritt
[edit]Wow, this may be the nitpickiest GAN I've ever read. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 23:06, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- I'm sorry you think that. I tried to be as helpful as possible by listing all the problems I found so that you can improve the article. Good luck with your next GA nomination. Cavie78 (talk) 23:12, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- You clearly missed footnote #3 on WP:WIAGA. Things like "Why did he leave Columbia / Warner / etc." "How did he meet Danny Davenport" etc. aren't mandatory for a GA. I fail to see how the article is any less detailed than, say, Clay Walker, which I got to GA with ease. I think this needs a second opinion so I'll file a GAR — although I do hold that your issues about grammar and syntax are valid and will work on those. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 23:14, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- As I say I was simply giving you as much as I could to help you improve the article. The reasons I failed the article are detailed in the comments on the GA template on the talk page. I'm sorry you feel annoyed that the article failed but I believe I was justified in my decision at this time. Good luck with improving the article and with the GAR, best wishes Cavie78 (talk) 23:27, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

[edit]I have warned the IP for the three revert rule, but to be fair I should also bring it to your attention as well, though it could be classed as reverting out vandalism. Keith D (talk) 19:34, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Keith, I was worried about that so stopped reverting. I'm not really sure what to do in circumstances like this so I think it's best if I just contribute to the talkpage and leave others to revert any changes to the article for the time being. Cavie78 (talk) 20:34, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
RFC courtesy notice - succession boxes
[edit]As someone who has taken part in previous discussions regarding the use of succession boxes in articles for songs and albums, I'd like to notify you of a request for comment that is taking place at WT:CHARTS#Request for comment: Use of succession boxes. It would be nice to finally come to a resolution on this. If you have already participated in this RFC or do not wish to participate, then please disregard this notice. Thanks. --Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars (talk) 00:20, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Dandy Warhols material in SS Edmund Fitzgerald article
[edit]Hello Cavie. Someone (looks like a solid editor bu not one of the regulars at the article) tagged the "The Dandy Warhols" material in the musical tributes section as needing a citation. We are "going by the the book" at the article, trying to get it GA, the FA, the FA of the day status by next November 10th (the day she sank) and so need to get that resolved, and can't just remove the tag. I noticed that you recently edited that section. Can you get a cite for it? An let me know soon at least where it's headed? (just went up for GA review) Otherwise I think we'll be forced to (at least temporarily) take it out. Sincerely, North8000 13:01, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hi North, I've added cites for the track appearing on The Black Album and for the fact that the album was initially rejected then released in 2004. As for the fact that Courtney is Michael Armagost's cousin - sounds like nonsense to me. I've done a quick Google and the only hits seem to be the SS Edmund Fitzgerald article on various international Wikipedias and mirror sites. Hope that helps Cavie78 (talk) 14:30, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Wikipedia Ambassador Program looking for new Online Ambassadors
[edit]Hi Cavie78! I noticed your activity as a Good Article reviewer, and wanted to let you know about the Wikipedia Ambassador Program, and specifically the role of Online Ambassador. We're looking for friendly Wikipedians who are good at reviewing articles and giving feedback to serve as mentors for students who are assigned to write for Wikipedia in their classes.
If you're interested, I encourage you to take a look at the Online Ambassador guidelines; the "mentorship process" describes roughly what will be expected of mentors in the coming term. If that's something you want to do, please apply!
You can find instructions for applying at WP:ONLINE. The main things we're looking for in Online Ambassadors are friendliness, regular activity (since mentorship is a commitment that spans several months), and the ability to give detailed, substantive feedback on articles (both short new articles, and longer, more mature ones).
I hope to hear from you soon.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 22:03, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
Fire in the Heart
[edit]Cavie, are you very busy? If so then I can wait to start the review of "Fire in My Heart". — Legolas (talk2me) 07:46, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Legolas, not busy at all, looking forward to your review. Cavie78 (talk) 12:01, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- Oh sorry Cavie, I should have checked your talk page, I will start the review. Was just caught up with the recent pathetic series of reviews going on in the song articles and protesting against them. The new users needed to be taught the basics of good review. And, lol, I pointed to them the review that you did for The Time of Our Lives as a shining example. He he. Hey, another thing, if you don't mind, would you take a look at "Bad Romance" and lightly see how close its prose is to FA? — Legolas (talk2me) 04:26, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- No problem, will have a look over "Bad Romance" in the next few days. I've been so busy with my own writing recently that I haven't been following the GA reviews much - what's been happening? Cavie78 (talk) 13:34, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- Don't even ask. As I said above the quality of reviews has deteriorated to a pathetic level. We need reviwers of superb calibre like you. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:47, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- PS, the review for FIMH is complete. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:28, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- Shush you! How can I be angry with a friend? :) As for BR, just check what is lacking in the article from FA perspective. Things that the bigshots might pinch out when I nominate it. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:40, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
