Text between two tables
Thanks Ched.
I'd started by using http://people.fas.harvard.edu/~sdouglas/table.cgi which was fine but maybe I messed up a ′cut&paste′.
Are there other converters/templates & instructions out there for tables on wiki?Frisasu (talk) 20:03, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

GA question from TechOutsider
- Tech, I think what you mean is that a Good Article should follow the standards set by its relevant WikiProjects. These standards have nothing to do with the categories that the article belongs to. A good example is an article about a Formula One driver should include the WP:F1 standard infobox that show's the driver's race results. Royalbroil 04:45, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Happy April Fools day!
Happy April Fools day! Hope you don't have Conflicker. I noticed something funny when reviewing NIS's history; when I created my account and started editing, it seems as if all the other editors, registered and anon, stepped aside and didn't really bother with me. My initial edits were far from NPOV, however no one really cared. Many of those editors who revised NIS before me have never revised NIS after I came ... TechOutsider (talk) 15:56, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
- Well, it was obvious to me anyway, that you were making big improvements to the article, and that you were learning very quickly. I'm glad it's working out so well for you too :-) ... A lot of folks come in and get reverted, crude edit summaries, snarky remarks on talk pages and all .. they get bit like that and they leave... it's a shame really. I'm sure we've lost some very good editors over the years. I'm glad it's worked out so well for you .. you're doing a really great job! Let me know how the GA goes too. — Ched : Yes? : © 16:18, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Malware Removal
Hey Ched, wondering if you could pull up that old article of yours for me. Just interested in what you would do in case of malware. TechOutsider (talk) 22:48, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- I think you mean what was once posted on one of the talk pages; either Talk:Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware or maybe the Talk:MS Antivirus page. The problem is that the post was deleted (WP:NOTFORUM). To summarize though. (and this is only for the specific strains of malware that malwarebytes detects).
- Download the install program from Cnet
- Run the install program
- Run the now installed program - it should update on its first run, but I always go to the update tab, and click "update" just to make sure.
- Go back to the Scanner tab: and pick which type of scan to do. (full scan takes longer than quick scan) click the scan button.
- If it finds any malware, you'll probably get a report file opened in notepad (you can close that), and a notice to "Show Results" (or something like that) .. say ok .. click on the show results button
- By default, all items will be ticked, just click the remove button. In some cases you'll need to do a restart to remove some items at startup.
I'll try to dig out the version I saved of the article if you want - it may have some references that you could use. I basically gave up on the article - too much bickering for my tastes. Some want to say it's advertisement, want to remove a bunch of relevant info, delete references, remove sources, etc. I'm just not one to edit war over that kind of thing. Do you want me to try to find my version and post to your user space? — Ched : Yes? : © 02:36, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- Sure why not. I was just interested TechOutsider (talk) 20:30, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

- I'm really not that familiar with Queen Elizabeth to be honest, so I'm not sure how the hypocrisy ties in there - but I'll try to read up on it a bit. As far as the "manufacture of arms" goes, I suppose it would be great if we had no need or desire for killing and hate. I wish that everyone truly got along and cared for each and every human being out there. Hopefully someday we'll get to the point. ;) — Ched : Yes? : © 12:15, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

An update
Hey Ched. Hope your doing fine. I'm not, because my Spring Break is almost up. Anyways, now I'm trying to push Norton 360 and Norton AntiBot to GA-class. Both of those products have/had a relatively short life span (less for me to cover!) and there is a lot of insight on the web, such as why did Symantec create the product? Who did the product target, corporations, enterprises, consumers? That kind of information allow me to develop and mantain a mindset in the article -- to the reader: look, there were 6 million bots in 2006. Industry experts suspect the majority don't know their computer is carrying out criminal activities. Norton AntiBot takes a different approach to malware detection; it monitors behavior .. -- putting a product in context really makes the article sound enclycopedic, not wikipedic and is a sucker to GA-reviewers. NIS on the other hand, is just way to broad, and towards the end it became almost a list of features. I'm collaborating with User:Tyw7, you may have met him. He's a really great editor. And it's always nice to have a second opinion. Just giving you an update Ched. It's cathartic. User:TechOutsider April 4, 2009.
- Hey TechOutsider, always good to hear from you. Sorry your spring break is about over, but best of luck in your upcoming classes. I'll keep an eye open on the 360 and Anitbot stuff, and when I run across something, I'll gladly add it to the article. I've noticed Tyw7 around (kind of hard to miss a sig. like that ... lulz). Your sig
Hi Ched
Your sig was rendered across lines for me and I messed around with it and didn't find that replacing all the spaces with fixed the wrap (I'm not a master of such things). If you care, here is a brute force solutions, which (given how generally reasonable and short your sig is) shouldn't cause any friction: <small><span style="border:1px solid #0000ff;padding:1px;">nowrap beginChed : <font style="color:#FFFFFF;background:#0000fa;"> Yes? </font> © nowrap end</span></small> Happy editing, Bongomatic 10:40, 5 April 2009 (UTC) I'll watch here in case you happen to reply, no need for tb or anything else on my talk page
- hmmmm ... getting invalid sig. message when I try to save. I'll work with the "nowrap" thingie and see what I can come up with. I'll just go back to my old sig for now. — Ched ~ (yes?)/© 11:04, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm. Maybe nowrap are prohibited in sigs (reasonably, if so!). Bongomatic 13:25, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- I tried both the nowrap and the <nowrap></nowrap> tags, neither seemed to work for me though. Oh well, I'm content with good old fashioned — Ched ~ (yes?)/© 13:44, 5 April 2009 (UTC) :-)
- See Wikipedia:Line break handling#Nowraplinks shortcomings—there are browsers that handle punctuation differently. Chrome was allowing breaks, but IE8 renders this without breaks regardless of line length: <small><span style="border:1px solid #0000ff;padding:1px;">Ched : <font style="color:#FFFFFF;background:#0000fa;"> Yes? </font> © </span></small>. Didn't try Firefox or Safari. People who uses Chrome deserves to have things rendered poorly (and all sorts of other bad things to happen to them). Bongomatic 13:47, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, different browsers render pages in different ways. As much as I do like Chrome for its speed, I only use it for surfing news related articles. I use Firefox for Wikipedia work. IE? .. meh, not so much. Whatever works for the user at the other end - I'm, not one to judge. I'm not gonna worry about the sig. box wrap - maybe one day when I'm bored I'll play with it a little. I noticed it will do that with even very short admin sigs as well. ex:Pedro. If I size my window just right, the box breaks with one part on the top line, and the second half on the bottom line. I'm guessing that's what you were getting with my sig in a box. Oh well, no biggie, if it's easier for you to read my sig this way, I'm fine with changing it back to a no frills version. — Ched ~ (yes?)/© 14:52, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

I'm probably not the person to answer this (I don't handle many SPI cases and only commented there because it was linked to from the AIV report). If an account is a really obvious sockpuppet then it's usually enough to report them to AIV without bothering with an SPI case. Hut 8.5 11:17, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Incidentally
The stick candy dispute seems to have been licked. The more recent battlegrounds were over a photo illustration for ice-cream headache (a.k.a. brain freeze) and whether any commercial links can be used to indicate the existence of some of the items on the List of liqueurs. The buzz indicates that it was quite a barroom brawl... :) ChildofMidnight (talk) 16:45, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

- Hey Chedsky. I understood your point about politics. Sorry about the long reply. There's just a lot of taking sides and labeling, and I don't want any part in it. In which case I suppose taking on the Obama gang wasn't a good idea... :) Maybe it was brain freeze.ChildofMidnight (talk) 15:23, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- lol on the brain freeze, and don't worry about the long reply, it was fine, and gave me more info to work with ;). I wouldn't even worry about any perception of an "Obama gang", As you mentioned, people will favor a particular view in one instance, but may favor another view in a different situation. If everyone sticks to trying to edit articles in a manner that displays a NPOV, works together on the talk pages, refrains from making any comments about individual editors, and remains civil - then we end up with a FA eventually. ;). Perhaps that's a bit much to hope for in some cases / articles .. all we can do is try our best. Getting back to the brain freeze thing, I would imagine that there's a good "let 'em eat cake" punchline in here somewhere - but I don't have any quality writers to help me find it ... lol :-) — Ched : ? 21:50, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

The Susan Boyle saga
To no one in particular: I've kinda, sorta, followed the whole Susan Boyle saga and I am a bit amazed. The AfD failed miserably as folks came by to support a keep with both logical, and less than policy clueful reasoning. Regardless, there was a resounding "Keep" heard throughout Wikipedia, and yet there are those who would tenaciously drag the stick a little further down the road. I'm wondering, if it's really the right thing to do in merging Susan with the Britain's Got Talent article, then perhaps we can continue this trend to "clean up the wiki". I'd suggest as a starting point, let's take him and merge with this; oh, wait, YouTube, ... not a WP:RS - let's delete both. Now let's merge this one event guy with his claim to fame since it's so prominently displayed on our WP:BLP1E policy anyway. OK... now we're starting to get things cleaned up here; now let's take this fella and merge him with his event. We're really on a roll now, but let's not stop there - while we're at it, let's take some of these little items, and just merge them with their rightful article. Hmmmm.... maybe I should head over to the village pump and drop this in the suggestion box huh? Naaa ... talking to myself is a sure sign of not having a clear picture of the whole thing. — Ched : ? 21:07, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

- Chedsky, I hate to break up this little tea party (I thought those were supposed to happen yesterday?), but I don't see evidence of attempts to merge the two articles. Are you hearing voices? It may be time to take a break or at least a few aspirin... :) ChildofMidnight (talk) 21:57, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- Ahhh ... busted. Nurse - wiki-meds please! LOL. Actually the discussion is/was at Talk:Britain's Got Talent (series 3) before some brave, bold, sole took down the merge tag that was posted here (*gasp* an admin not using edit summaries ... for shame).
- On a side note: (news reporter Ched dons his Daily Planet hat) .. CoM, do you have any further comment on your RfA? ;) — Ched : ? 23:20, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- Interesting. My mistake I think. I hadn't realized all those edits were today. That is an insane amount of editing going on for that woman. Does her voice have some kind of magical power? As far as RfAs are concerned, I weighed in with O-Arb evidence which was time consuming and emotionally draining. So I need a bit of a break. And I also created a somewhat controversial disambig. type page that looks like it may end up being transformed into an Obama portal. Apparently trying to create a list page to help people find the articles they are looking for is highly controversial and borderline nefarious. But once those things wrap up, and I'm healed up enough for another good head banging, I will try to undertake my long promised and much anticipated RfA candidacy. And they say the days of good old fashioned entertainment at Roman Coliseum are history... ChildofMidnight (talk) 23:55, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- If you're not familiar with the "event", the link is here. If you're not familiar with the song, you can click on the more info at the right to see the words to the song.
- I haven't followed this particular ArbCom incident, nor have I availed myself of my privilege to edit the Obama articles. I suspect that if I got involved in that, the "fun factor" of editing Wikipedia would soon dissipate for me. I have virtual friends on all edges of the topic, so all I can hope for is a amicable outcome for all involved.
- I asked just very recently about the length of time a RfA could be held in abeyance, and it seems that there is no hard and fast rule for that. It does hold a certain amount of suspense though, and I wish you luck when you proceed. ;) — Ched : ? 00:24, 17 April 2009 (UTC)re
- ←AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I can't deal with the pace of editing over at the Boyle article anymore! I just tried to clean up several citations and vandalism, and in the the few minutes I was working, there must have been 30 more edits! *cries*

Re: Trip and stuff
Yeah, I'd like to get more into photography, but the camera I have is a piece of junk, relatively speaking. Good luck with that. Internally, I can't see how the license change will have any real affect on operations...it'll just make things easier to deal with off-wiki. Creative Commons really is superior to GFDL for our purposes.
Wow, that's interesting re: Allegheny County. Yeah, economy is tight right now, but the gov't has more money than the individual citizens...if they aren't going to compensate you, they don't deserve the work. Volunteer work should be rewarding to the individual in some way...whether its building a house for Habitat for Humanities, cleaning up roadsides, or playing on Wikipedia. Slaving away on code and databases just doesn't seem....fun. lol. I had actually forgotten that you were in that area of PA...my cousin is across the state attending Villanova right now, actually.
To be honest, aside from trying to work out the debate on the talk page, I had nothing to do with "33". I had to step away as it was such an insipid argument. I might check back in, but I'm afraid my brain will decompose further...like I said, editing here should be fun, since this is my pasttime, not my job. — Huntster (t • @ • c) 01:58, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Villanova? ... cool. I enjoy photography, thought about going into it professionally when I was graduating high school even. In fact, a 35mm SLR was my graduation present. But, I fell in love, took a meaningless job, got married, and didn't even get back to college until I was XX years old. I have a decent camera now, but it could be better - so I just enjoy what I can, when I can. Looking at some of the things you keep an eye on, I can see why you'd get frustrated. I try to get involved in more and more the longer I'm here, but I've found that there's a limit too - and I'll just disappear from conversations when they get beyond the "fun" stage. I go through stages of jumping into various sections of Wikipedia, policy, AfD, RfA, "Not", etc. to learn .. and I'm so glad that I have NASCAR and Royalbroil to fall back on once I've had my fill of "learning". At the NASCAR stuff, everyone works together, helps each other, and supports each other - kind of like NASCAR in real life. I even went out and "bought" some reference books for the subject, which reminds me that I really need to get back to editing actual articles there too. I enjoy the debates over various things, but when they degrade into childish "but, but, but" arguments, I tend to think ... "Whatever .. talk to the hand, cause the person is leaving". You're 100% right .. it has to be enjoyable, we're not getting paid for this. And thanks to your kind guidance when I first started, I do enjoy it here. ;) — Ched : ? 02:56, 17 April 2009 (UTC) (cc: UT)
- To be blunt, you've done more in your few months here than I have in several years. You are a natural. It seems everywhere I look I see you offering your thoughs, whether on article talk pages, WP:ANI, etc, etc. You'll be an admin in no time, I predict, if you have any inclination towards that. You've moved well past any guidance I may have once given, straight to offering your own sage advise on a variety of fronts. Wiki benefits from your presence :) — Huntster (t • @ • c) 03:04, 17 April 2009 (UTC) (Yes, I've probably said that before, but I am awfully proud of your work here. 03:08, 17 April 2009 (UTC))

- wow - yep, I really got caught off guard with that one. Considering the source, I consider that high praise indeed. While it's still a bit early to really consider the impact such a change could have on my editing and wikipedia, I'd imagine it's just a natural progression for editors who've accumulated enough experience to used block, protect, and delete functions responsibly. I'll definitely keep the thought in mind as I continue to absorb the vast vault of knowledge that's available here. As far as being beyond your guidance, naaaa... I'm not so presumptuous that I'd ever believe that. It's obvious to me that you have a rather large repository of knowledge and experience still available to anyone willing to listen. Actually, there are probably very few editors that I wouldn't be able to learn something from. Over the years, I've been a network administrator, forum moderator, message board admin, chat room sysop, and held various management positions; so, an extra layer of responsibility isn't something I'd be afraid of, or shy away from. When the time comes, I'd be quite happy to have you bring the things I'd need to know to the table, and we can figure out where to go from there. I consider myself very fortunate that my early days of confusion and frustration that most new editors face, was met by your kindness, consideration, and experience. I may well have become discouraged if it were not for you taking the extra time to guide and encourage me in the proper constructive directions. Hey, I've only given out 3 barnstars I think - and you got the first, if I'm not mistaken. I believe that it's redeemable at your local Starbucks with the mere addition of $5 to claim a cup of coffee. ;). Well, I'd best be getting back to editing some of the NASCAR articles, before RB thinks I got lost and sends out a search party .. lol. I do want to get back to you about some of the FUR stuff too, I read through some of your work on that, and see I need to do a bit of learning on that end of things. On a closing note, it was really really good to see you in such an upbeat mood, and able to spend a bit of time without being rushed last night. I hope it's a sign of improvements in life for ya! Cheers buddy. ;) — Ched : ? 16:47, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Welcome things here :) (I remember I was once an IRC sysop and a forum mod, but I couldn't begin to remember where!) And don't worry about the search party...I've got some steaks on hand to throw off the tracking dogs! But anything you need to know regarding copyright and fair-use, ask away. I'm not an expert, but I feel I have a pretty good understanding of things. Cheers, and *vrroooom!* (I keep missing my motorsports events!) — Huntster (t • @ • c) 21:58, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: Only proper
If anyone should apologize for being snarky, it's me, but I just feel the issue is being missed entirely. I disagree with Root's actual reasons for closing and his definition of "consensus" (as well as the fact he didn't just wait it out.) But what's done is done in terms of the AfD itself. I don't think Root's premature closure of the AfD would have swayed the outcome, and reopening it via DRV will just lead to the same conclusion. I'm all for cutting down on drama. :) --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 23:36, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Re: Pictures
Ugh, I can't deal with the Susan Boyle article right now...too much junk. Okay, pictures. So long as the image is taken in a public location (aka, in the public domain), then it is fine to take pictures of individuals, especially if those persons are already public figures, like Earnhardt. Even individuals that are not public figures are okay, again, so long as the setting is a public location. Private locations (homes, restaurants, some stores, etc) should be avoided. There is a template, however, that you can append on photo pages that indicates to readers that personality rights may need to be respected...I cannot remember the template off-hand, but searching around Commons should find it. — Huntster (t • @ • c) 00:16, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- What? .. is someone else trying to edit the Susan Boyle article? ... lmao. OK ... so restaurants and stores aren't considered public places then? Not that there's anything major in anything I'm looking at to upload - just trying to sort out the details here. I have a picture that I took, and then photoshoped ... a private person sitting on a bench during a parade. Can I upload that picture without having a signed release form from him? — Ched : ? 00:24, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- Well, they are public places, but there is a moral issue involved as well. Usually people in those places expect some degree of privacy, whereas on the street or at a major public event, privacy cannot be assumed. I would say that a public bench during a parade would be considered public domain. Is the focus that person, or the parade itself? — Huntster (t • @ • c) 03:36, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- Very good point, and no, I'd never post a picture of anyone if they didn't want me to - regardless of the legal issues. The picture I was thinking about, was an older gentleman - sitting on a bench outside a local bar as the parade passed by, and he is the focus of the picture. White hair and beard, bright red baseball hat - the contrast in colors made a wonderful picture. Not something that could be used at Wikipedia for anything that I can think of, it just sparked my curiosity. Probably best to see if I could find the gentleman, and simply ask him I suppose. As far as the parade goes, or a sporting event - I'm getting the impression that it's ok to post pictures, even if some people are identifiable, because it is a public event though. When I get a few of them uploaded to commons, I'll have you take a look, just to make sure. ;)
- I noticed this morning that the Susan Boyle article has been protected - wow .. what a runaway train that has become huh? I do agree with the external links issues you've brought up too. Is that why it was protected? I didn't really look much beyond the talk page, perhaps I'll have a gander at the page history - I wouldn't be surprised if there was some edit warring or vandalism going on - given the high profile attention it's getting. It's got to be frustrating to you and a lot of other editors who are trying to improve the article, no doubt. I tried a couple times to edit too .. but just kept running into too many edit conflicts. I'm thinking that maybe the page protection was actually a good idea in this case, at least for a short time. Certainly not your typical article! Cheers ;) — Ched : ? 13:37, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- Since the gentleman is in a public location, even that picture should be okay. Just remember that we shouldn't uploaded images that likely won't have an encyclopaedic usage, so think of that when deciding what to upload. And yes, I'm fed up with the article and the editors involved. I'll go back, perhaps, when things settle down, but I'll not have random editors demean me because the disagree with my edits. There's a lot of ill-will and less-than-precise grasp of the English language going on in that article. — Huntster (t • @ • c) 23:58, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- I thought so, but was just checking with you cause you have more experience in that area (pics and copyvio). Not that I'd have a reason to upload that gentleman to Wikipedia, I was wondering more in line with my own pics (google pics). I try to conduct my real life affairs with the same integrity that is (or at least should be) expected here. I know that I haven't posted any pics of my sister, simply because she prefers I don't. -- On the Boyle article, I've given up trying to add anything as well; even though a few of my first edits and references have stood the test of time, I'd rather work with a couple folks in unison to improve on something, than fight a swarming mob interested only in having their own sig or IP listed at the top of the history page. I'll add a comment here or there on the talk page if I think it will have any bearing on anything; but, even on the talk page (as you mentioned) there are some totally clueless, inept, and downright rude comments that have been made - simply to gain some (inherited) claim to fame I suspect. I'd venture a guess that some of the most vocal, and visible editors have no idea of the true impression that some of their posts gives to the average editor. But that's just my thought at the moment, subject to change at any time ... lol. To be honest, Boyle won't be able to duplicate that kind of sensationalism again, although she may well go on to a successful singing career. I think she has a beautiful voice, and a delightful personality, so I do hope (and believe) that she'll do fine. In a few weeks though ... pfft ... some other article will be the "I need to edit this" hot potato. Chris Benoit, Virgin Killer, Larry Sanger, Jimbo, a flash in the pan hot streak in the NHL playoffs, a rising MLB star - something will grab peoples attention away from the article before long.
- Back to the pics, I've been photoshoping some of my photography, (size, tweak etc.), and should have a few more to upload by the end of next week. Races, sunsets maybe .. still going through it all.
- Don't ever let inexperienced, inept, or rude editors get you down Huntster. If you're ever in doubt, just look at your contribs, a legacy to be envied without a doubt. You do damn fine work, I know it, and if you're honest with yourself, you know it too. When you can look in the mirror, and the person looking back doesn't express any doubts ... you're where you should be my friend. (excluding any personal religious beliefs one might have.) Stay strong, stay right ... remember, you're the guiding influence for at least one lone editor on the web. ;) — Ched : ? 00:38, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Minor edits
Hi Ched, just to point out that you appear to be marking all your edits as minor, even some quite major ones. This could be confusing to editors who hide minor edits from their watchlists. You can uncheck the "mark all edits as minor by default" box in the editing section of your preferences to avoid this. Best wishes, DuncanHill (talk) 17:30, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- Yea, I think you're right now that you mention it. When I first started, I did a lot of spelling fixes, minor copyedits, and such, so I added the preference to auto-check things as minor. Now that I'm adding bigger chunks to things, I think I probably should uncheck that. I'll still forget to check the minor edit box when I should, at times that they actually are minor, I'm sure. But maybe it is actually better to have a few minor edits marked as major than the other way around. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day/night - I'll head over and do that now. Cheers ;) — Ched : ? 17:41, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

- OK, I wondered if it was connected to that RfA. Let me give you some friendly advice: It does no real harm to assume more good faith than is deserved. Because eventually they will either straighten up and fly right, or they will let you down. And that is their fault, not yours. You did right. And you were a better man than I in this thing. But someone's sincerity (or lack thereof) will eventually reveal itself. One of my faults, when I'm suspicious of an editor's sincerity, is to try to push to reveal that fact (hence the sometimes-reasonable accusation that I "create drama"). But what happens, you see, is that eventually an insincere user will also let down his most ardent defenders, and then he'll be toast. My last comment to GTBacchus, who's also gone out of his way to stand up for that guy, was simply that "the community will take care of it eventually". And notice some other users' increasingly-annoyed comments on the revived RfA talk page. It will all catch up eventually. But no bets on when. These things can take time. But you did right. - I've always been surprised by the age spread of Wikipedians. While a younger crowd does dominate, they tend to stick to touching up articles. It is the more mature, educated and experienced crowd that tends to make high-level contributions to the site. This is one of those websites that forces one to realise that you can't make generalisations regarding groups...you have young folk, just kids really, who are outstanding editors and individuals, and you have older people who would love to see this place burn to the ground. Larry Sanger
Hiya Ched. How are you this lovely Friday in the middle of the night? I just looked at the article and talk page. The article certainly has an abundance of citations! The problem is that the facts stated have been such a bone of contention that I think the multiple citations for many facts are necessary. What I had said a while back to you was that where two sentences in a row are coming from the same reference, then there's not need to cite each sentence independently. The article really doesn't trangress this. I agree that it can be distracting for some readers but people learn to tune them out. When I read an article with tons of inline citations I barely notice them. For Wikipedia articles, when I see a lack of citations it nags at me. Somewhere in my brain there's an echo chamber screaming "UNVERIFIED, DON'T TRUST" over and over.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk)
- Thanks for looking Fuhghettaboutit. And actually, the "two sentences in a row" is exactly the point I was driving at. Alas, it appears that either I'm not expressing my suggestions well, or I'm off-base on what I think could be improvements. Probably the latter, so I'll just leave the entire matter to others. — Ched : ?
Thank you much for the reminder. I just started the page today, plagiarizing the format from Bobo. Left 'Example' as a placeholder until I setup my own.
