image licensing[edit]

Hey there

Thanks for uploading the file Image:Rani Mukherjee.jpg. Per the image copyright tags, you are the author of the work and have uploaded it yourself. I would like to request you to clarify - are you the photographer? Or do you hold the original copyright of the image, which you have now released under GFDL? Or did you find the file on a website and then uploaded it?

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image.

Regards,xC | 11:54, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Sakshi.jpg, by Xcentaur (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Sakshi.jpg fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

clear copyvio - even has name of the site printed across it, from where it was taken

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Sakshi.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 10:26, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fraudulent licenses[edit]

Although you claim, for example, to have taken Image:Sakshi.jpg yourself, this is blatantly false. This appears to be a movie screenshot. Any further such fraudulent claims will result in an immediate indefinite block against your account. --Yamla 17:48, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Sakshi.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:42, 24 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 18:42, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading Image:Sakshi.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Yamla 18:42, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Sakshi.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Sakshi.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 18:42, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

You have been blocked for removing tags from images, such as from Image:Sakshi.jpg, without providing the mandatory information. You are welcome to resume editing once the block expires, but please ensure you provide accurate information for your images. --Yamla 19:34, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You were caught violating your block by abusively using a sockpuppet account to continue removing tags without providing the mandatory information. Your block has been extended to 48 hours. Any further evidence of this may result in an indefinite ban from editing. --Yamla 01:15, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Need to resolve this[edit]

You have been uploading a lot of images to WP, and every single one of them is under a cloud because it appears that you are simply uploading images you found on the internet.

However, you have made claims that you are the actual photographer who took these images.

To resolve this issue, and since you appear to live in India, would you please get in touch with me, and I will be happy to help establish your bonafides.

Note that I am not an admin - I am simply a WP user trying to help. If you would would rather deal with an admin, I encourage you to contact one.

Proposed deletion of Sexism in India[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sexism in India, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Triwbe (talk) 17:21, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You may have created this article, but it is not yours - it belongs to the public. Furthermore, commentary such as "Why are you hijacking my article?" belongs on the Talk:Sexism_in_India page, which can also be found under the "discussion" tab. If you read the discussion, as well as the proposed deletion vote, you will see why your article has been modified, and you will be able to share your views with the other editors. Please note that Wikipedia articles are not a place for personal opinions. See Wikipedia:SOAP#Wikipedia_is_not_a_soapbox and Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view for information on some crucial policies you may not be aware of - you will save yourself and others much frustration in the future. 98.226.245.252 (talk) 06:17, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And some more points in addition to the ones above:

  1. This is not a forum/chatroom or blog. This is an encyclopedia. See WP:NOT.
  2. Wikipedia is not a place for ublication of original thought.
  3. Do not leave messages on the article page. Please do so on the talk page.

I recommend that you read the links in the welcome message above in detail before you make more edits. --Deepak D'Souza (talkcontribs) 06:37, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please don not blank talk pages[edit]

Youy have been warned many times. But let me do it again. You are not allowed to blank talk pages --Deepak D'Souza (talkcontribs) 04:52, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your comments[edit]

I again politely request you to read Five pillars. Please go throug the links I ahve provided. It will really be helpful for you. Please be civil in your discussions and respect talk page guidelines. If you talk angrily and get personal , you are violating the spirit of collaboration that has made Wikipedia a success.

About your statement You are not the owner of wikipedia: You are absolutely right about that . No one owns any article on Wikipedia and I am fully aware of that. But have you introspected on your behaviour before advising me?

About this statement: everyone has the right to express his view point; please take note that Wikipedia is not a democracy. Nor is it your webhost.

If you have any compaints you may please report them at the Administrator's Notice Board. Lastly, I am surprised that you have stated that I have a strong bias against men. Why would I have something against my own gender? :-). --Deepak D'Souza (talkcontribs) 08:37, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It would be helpful to note that Deepak D'Souza is not the only one making edits to Sexism in India - he's not even the one making the most significant changes. I'll leave it to you to investigate the history of the page yourself, but if you do, you might realize that the user who has been "messing" with the page the most has actually championed its existence. Without that user's efforts, it would most likely have been deleted by now. 98.226.245.252 (talk) 17:21, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why should it matter?[edit]

So you have been out there googling my name , trying to find out who i am? Why?--Deepak D'Souza (talkcontribs) 07:13, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I refuse to answer your question. You can reach whatever conclusion you want to. --Deepak D'Souza (talkcontribs) 06:21, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 04:18, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Cupidcobra for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. Also, I've already emailed the Arbitration Committee list about my account creation. I am 98.226.245.252, but I needed to create this account to lodge the complaint against you. Murmurer (talk) 09:09, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Who is after whom?[edit]

In resonse to this comment: [1] why are u guys after me? don't u have any better things to do? Let me ask you the same questions. You have been posting messages on talk pages of other users telling them to "mind their own business' or to leave "your article " aloneor "why are you after me". You have been indulging in sockpuppetry despite being warned against it. You have been trying to find out my real identity on the net.

Dont you have any better things to do?--Deepak D'Souza (talkcontribs) 10:09, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:DeeptiBhatnagar.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:DeeptiBhatnagar.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:DeeptiBhatnagar.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:DeeptiBhatnagar.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. A tag has been placed on File:Sakshi-Sivanand.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —SpacemanSpiff 07:11, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
