A page you created has been nominated for deletion because it is a biography of a living person that is entirely negative in tone and has unsourced content, according to section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

Do not create articles about living people that are entirely negative in tone and unsourced. Wikipedia has a policy of verifiability and any negative information we use must be reliably sourced, and our articles must be balanced. Negative, unreferenced biographies of living people, along with attack pages, are not tolerated by Wikipedia, and users who create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy may be blocked from editing. L1amw90 (talk) 13:38, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Can you tell me which page that I created is entirely in negative tone or attacking someone? I have no idea which page that could be, I have never attacked or written anything badly here on Wikipedia. DarthBob (talk) 20:40, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm really sorry about that. I had no idea it was requested as an attack page. I was trying to request the page for deletion, as it had no references etc. But it's been sorted by an administrator. So sorry about that. (the page was Matt Campbell (darts player). L1amw90 (talk) 23:50, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I have realized it is the Matt Campbell's page. I have added some resources, if it is needed, I can find more. It is okay, I was just really surprised, that a page of mine would be considered "attacking someone". That would definitely never be my intention. :-) DarthBob (talk) 23:58, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you've claimed File:Daniel Barbořák.jpg as your own work. Could you please clarify how you came by this photo, and if you have any connection to Daniel Barbořák? signed, Rosguill talk 00:05, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I created profiles for all players in Tipsport Premier League, because I was helping the founder of the league. All these photos were sent to me by players (including Daniel Barbořák) themselves and they agreed with publishing them on Wikipedia. If needed, I can provide Facebook contact to Daniel Barbořák and I am sure he will confirm that. --DarthBob (talk) 10:58, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Could you explain the nature of the help you were providing? It sounds like you may have a conflict of interest, in which case you need to disclose this relationship on both your user page and the talk pages of affected articles. signed, Rosguill talk 18:59, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What kind of conflict of interest are you talking about? Seriously? I created pages for darts players, because they played Tipsport Premier League, an organized tournament that was broadcasted in other countries, and they agreed to send me photos. Nobody had anything against it and now suddenly after 3 months I am being accused? --DarthBob (talk) 19:10, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your explanation that you asked them for the photos and they complied is a sufficient explanation (although it does imply that you filled out the photo's summary of rights incorrectly; please correct the information to accurately reflect Tipssport's ownership and release of the photo). This is being brought to your attention now because the new pages review process has a roughly 3-month-long backlog. signed, Rosguill talk 19:14, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

All right, thanks for the explanation, I did not know that, I will try to change this. --DarthBob (talk) 19:19, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, DarthBob,

Thank you for creating Jason Heaver.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more references in order to provide significant coverage for this article. See WP:SIGCOV
References that have scores, lists, order of merit and video do not pass as reliable sources for WP:NSPORT. (There have been changes to the notability guide for sports - you may wish to read WP:NSPORT ) To meet notability requirements, one more reference with significant coverage will suffice. Thank you.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

I have deleted 2023 International Darts Open because it was deleted as the result of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2023 International Darts Open. It was been restored as a draft at Draft:2023 International Darts Open, feel free to help improve the draft so that it can be submitted via the WP:AFC process, but consensus was that the article in its current state is not suitable for mainspace at this time. - Aoidh (talk) 23:09, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

How is it not suitable, and other 99 tournaments of European Tour were? I do not understand your approach at all. The page is the same as all other pages about darts. People are working on it in their spare time, trying to improve and you just delete it for absolutely no reason. DarthBob (talk) 23:11, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It was deleted because consensus at AfD determined that it did not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. That is the reason. As I said, you are welcome to improve the draft and submit it via WP:AFC once the notability issues have been addressed. Please also note that you cannot copy and paste the draft into mainspace without proper attribution; see Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources#How about copying from one Wikipedia article to another? - Aoidh (talk) 23:15, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But how is it possible that all other articles had no problems and this one specifically did? 10 years we create page for every tournament of European Tour and there were NEVER any problems. Can you please look at it in some empathic approach and not via some guidelines? It is just because someone marked it for deletion and then you "decided" to delete. The tournament was also missing elsewhere, so now it seems like it does not even exist. This is just total nonsense. DarthBob (talk) 23:19, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just at a quick glance I'm seeing half a dozen similar articles that had notability concerns that resulted in deletion (example), so it's not just this one specifically. The solution to the notability issue would be to improve the sourcing in the draft so that notability is shown and it can be submitted to WP:AFC. - Aoidh (talk) 23:33, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I added multiple sources, I believe that is what was missing comparing to other tournaments. I submitted it as a draft then. I believe it should meet the neccesary criteria now. DarthBob (talk) 23:56, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah but these are different tournaments, I definitely do not want to argue, but there are honestly 99 tournaments of European Tour without a single issue, just now someone decided to mark this one, and it was deleted. I agree now it lacked better sourcing, did not see it at the first glance. So I added sources according to other similar pages that had no issues, I truly believe this page should be here. DarthBob (talk) 00:02, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
how are these individual events notable on their own? These are all a part of a larger tour, which feels notable, but three publications reporting that someone won that event doesn't really fit the bill. The rest of the citations are primary or hardly push towards notability. As noted in the AfD, a well written article that covered the tour as a whole each year would be much better. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 12:45, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Many articles on Wikipedia are part of a larger tour, there are articles about tennis tournaments, F1, motorcycle races, I see you cover snooker. Everywhere there is a separate article for each tournament. I do not know what exactly is the threshold, that makes the event "notable". There are articles in the news, it does not describe every single throw of course, but sums up the tournament and most importantly, who won. It is broadcasted on TV, on streams, thousands of people watch it. I honestly do not see how it is different from for example snooker tournament. How is for example this article better or different (2018 Northern Ireland Open)? How is this better: 2022 Herculis, 2022 Athletissima? DarthBob (talk) 13:10, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm glad you asked. It's not about the sources used in the article, it's about it being notable. You can see from the following year's event 2019 Northern Ireland Open, that there's plenty of media covering the event as a whole (See Eurosport, BBC, SportingLife, Sky Sports, etc); rather than a couple of media outposts commenting on the winner. From my area, the difference is between having articles like: Q School 2020 – Event 1 etc, and having an article covering all of these events, that is clearly notable (like at 2019 Q School). We can't look around and say "that other thing is probably not notable, so my non-independently notable item should also exist", we should instead try and make well written articles about notable concepts. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 13:17, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But there are sources for darts and European Tour also on SportingLife ([1]https://www.sportinglife.com/darts/news/darts-results-gerwyn-price-wins-european-darts-open-to-claim-his-seventh-title-on-the-european-tour/208298 or Sky Sports ([2]https://www.skysports.com/darts/news/12288/12722845/european-tour-darts-damon-heta-defeats-peter-wright-for-victory-in-gibraltar) and I even added those sources. Maybe they do not cover it match by match, because the schedule in darts is very fast, so they sum it up at the end...but it does not mean that the tournament is less notable. DarthBob (talk) 13:25, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am trying to understand your point, I just still do not get, why these pages started to be a problem after 10 years. European Tour started in 2012 and since then each tournament had his own page, that means that throughout all player's profiles there are links to at least 100 tournaments. If all separate pages are deleted, it will create just one big chaos everywhere. If someone said after 3 tournaments of the series "look, it is not good idea to have it separately, merge it together", I would not have a problem with it. If the articles were constantly flagged for deletion from the beginning, I would not have a problem with it, we could discuss and solve it. But I see this as a big step back, instead of better coverage of this sport (and I really think it is well maintained), we should be deleting articles. And as I wrote somewhere else, I personally know darts commentators and journalists, who use these pages during their work, because they are reliable and updated. I know it is not the best argument, but I just do not understand why to suddenly change something, which is working very well and which was never questioned in the past. DarthBob (talk) 13:40, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Something being done for a long time doesn't mean we have to continue doing it. We don't have articles to cater to dart subject matter fans specifically. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:02, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"Something being done for a long time doesn't mean we have to continue doing it." So you are saying let's just throw away everything that has been done in the past 10 years. What do you suggest then? Delete everything all together? Or start deleting from now? Because either way does not make sense at all. Either we create a mess in profiles of hundreds of players by deleting all the links and mentions of these tournaments, or it will look ridiculously weird, that suddenly tournaments do not have their own page starting April 2023. Decline reason:

Procedural decline. Obviously, as this account is not blocked, I don't need to unblock it (and you could probably edit from a different IP). As for your home WiFi's IP ... it's probably not your fault, just some bad choice by your provider. Best thing you can do is go to WP:IPECPROXY and follow those instructions to request IP block exemption so this isn't a problem again. — Daniel Case (talk) 06:44, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
