I have looked at es:Victimas de la guerra civil, unfortunately my Spanish is at a very very basic level (if any). I have only figure out that there is a controversy about the article and the article needs improvement, the word obsoleta was used. Actually I haven't seen a source confirming that Carrillo did anything to prevent violence, but it is true that most sources are in Spanish. The information I put says that Carrillo was granted an honorary doctorate and that there were protests. The text is clearly against Carrillo, but these two facts are (I believe) correct, no matter if the rest is biased.

Just wondering about his knowledge of the events, I have read that he said that one should not go back to the events taking place 70 years ago. If he was innocent - he would have denied his participation in crimes (or maybe he made some statement?).

He *has* denied his participation, many times in the last 50 years. The "not go back to the Civil War events" is a common theme in Spain. After the Constitutional restoration in 1978, civiliced people of almost every ideology has taken an agreement not to revive misdoings of that times, since both fronts were guilty of so many wrongs. English or Polish sources are quite limited and often biased in either way. For example in Poland during communism the only version was of course - "forces of progress vs fascism". On the other hand among anti-communist opposition the most common version was: "democracy vs dictatorship", although later on democracy was overtaken by stalinism - so later conflict was "communism vs fascism" or the "conflict of two evils". The transition from dictatorship to democracy was, by some politicians seen as the model for Polish transition from communism to democracy. Of course, looking at the crimes of communism and leftist ideology one cannot overlook the crimes committed by the Republican side. Some authors show that the crimes (especially against the Catholic Church) were committed at the very beginning of the Republic. These people say that Franco had to uprise against the Republic to save Spain from "communist barbarians". In many cases Franco is idealized and his crimes are diminished or the responsibility for the crimes it put to someone else. Of course, probably most people in Poland know nothing about the Spanish Civil War at all.

My impression about the attitude in Spain was that there was a thin balance between the supporters of both sides. Both sides were perceived as having their reasons. Nowadays this balance seems to collapse. On one hand the monuments of general Franco are being removed, on the other people like Carrillo are honoured. In case of court trial one has to be sure that someone is guilty. In case of a honorary doctorate one has to be sure someone is innocent.

Hi. I went through the article, but noticed no particular problems with it. If this was an old tag, I'd just say "no reason apparent" and remove it, but as it is, can you say what seems to be a problem and how we should go about fixing it?

For future use, tagging tends to work better when the specific problems are mentioned on the talk page or even just the edit summary. This is especially true of non-obvious tags, such as wikify - it's a generic "Fix it!", and with nothing else to go on, other editors are well within their rights to answer "Fix what?". I arrived to this page through an automatic arv tool, and now see that it's not the proper way to report suspicious vandalism. What is the correct procedure when detecting a probable ongoing vandal?

You can report obvious and persistent vandals at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, where you had posted your comment. Make sure you follow the form instructions. Before posting there, a final warning in an escalating series should have been posted to the user's talk page (for example {{Uw-vandal4}}, {{Uw-spam4}} or {{Uw-speedy4}}), and the user must have vandalized within the last few hours, including after the final warning was given him or her. Various warning templates can be found at Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace. Your block request is unlikely to be acted upon unless you follow these steps. Cases that are not simple vandalism can be reported at Wikipedia:Administrators' Noticeboard/Incidents. Of course, in conjunction with warning against and reporting vandalism, you have the ability, mandate and are encouraged to revert all instances of vandalism you find yourself. It does not seem reasonable that a person new to a long-established article should undertake such wholesale rerrangement and splitting without so much as a talk comment. good idea

Good idea on the creation of a category for open-ended games. There's definitely a lot of games in this category, and people are interested to know which games work this way. I think you might have misnamed the category though. Categories like Category:Episodic video games have a space between "video games" instead of calling them "videogames". Also, I think it might be more consistent with the article if we used "nonlinear" rather than "open-ended". Would you mind if we renamed it to "nonlinear video games"? Game mode and mode (computer interface)

A mode in a computer interface is certainly not related to a game mode in video games. A mode in a modal application purely says something about the way the user interacts with the application, such as in vi and emacs. Each mode, in this sense, presents its own operations/tools that can be performed. As the title of the article suggests, it is a way to structure an application as an interface for the functionality available in the program. In these applications, the mode can be switched on the fly to access the different functionality.

On the other hand, a game mode is simply a way of playing the same game: it is not related to how the user (physically) interacts with the application. The user uses the same controls, the same operations/tools are available yet only the goal varies: in singleplayer mode, you follow a story/campaign, in multiplayer mode, you play with online people or friends, in Deathmatch, the goal is to kill others, in Capture the flag, the goal is to capture a flag, et cetera. In this sense, the mode can't be changed on the fly and there's not a different way of interacting with the application depending on the mode. Therefore, I'd say, a game mode is not an instance of the abstract principle described in mode. Regards, Simeon (talk) 21:20, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

External Link Deletion

Hi Diego. This section is in regards to an external link that you deleted in the EUD (End User Development) article. The link you deleted was for a free EUD tool (Yes, there is a pay version too). I am interested in helping define the field of EUD and advance it in the industry. I am not interested in spamming, and if it is viewed as such I would rather not have the link. But there are few places to discuss EUD and I am interested in finding people to discuss and collaborate with. This link seems right on topic and I was hoping that it could help create a discussion. It should also be noted that other similar works (EUD environments) are both referenced and linked from the article. So if you do not want to restore the link, I would appreciate an explanation or some criteria for your determination.

Also, I would be interested in creating a EUD tool comparison page. Perhaps you think this would be better than providing an external link.

Service Oriented Architecture

In reference to your edit reverts, kindly note the following. i)Using an adjective(word flexible) to define an acronym in the first para is not recommended, hence it is termed weasel. ii) Also, the same first paragraph is using the word 'deployed', which is a verb categorising or classifying a single or set of actions. It is not recommmended by wiki standards to attribute a verb to a first para definition of an acronym, which confuses the reader. Hence weasel. I kindly request you to review your actions(just thoughts!). My view is that, if you cannot define something in one sentence, better not try to and just clearly state the same:-). Hi Diego, thanks. You may please note, there is an adjective in the first sentence itself. Please read the description for weasel words, there is an example that says, "Luton is the <nicest> town in UK", similarly "saying SOA is a <flexible> set of design principles" can also be categorised weasel. What appears flexible to you may not be flexible to another person. Hence I strongly recommend either a) bring the weasel tag back OR b) re-write the first para definition. If you take pains and re-write, I am sure that another person will come and change it. I say this because, I have been following this article since the last 3 years, and the 'SOA definition' keeps changing every 2 weeks!. As a joke, let me say you; SOA means "Simply an Omnipotent Acronym!" :o) Smet (talk) 18:09, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Ok, now I see your point that "flexible" could be seen as POV. I might argue that the word "flexible" is a good summary of the guiding and architectural principles listed later (encapsulation, loose coupling, interoperability) or that its commercial prevalence is a sign for its adaptability over older architectures; but this is my personal interpretation.

More to the point, I think describing SOA as flexible in the lead is a way to hint of its notability ("why would people bother to deploy SOAs? because they're flexible"). How else could you show the subject's notability in the first sentence, as required by the wp:lead guideline? Diego (talk) 18:31, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Your statement, In computing, a service-oriented architecture (SOA) is a flexible set of design principles used during the phases of systems development and integration. A deployed SOA-based architecture will provide a loosely-integrated suite of services that can be used within multiple business domains Firstly, architecture is something more than a concept. I would say Architecture pave fundamentals in building roadmaps and realisation of a project. Principles are formed from concept, but they are not treated during systems development and integration. Also, we do not "deploy" any architecture; we deploy solutions or artefacts that are build, referring or base-lining an architecture. And re: using in multiple business, please explain to me: how could a SOA enable module written in "Account Billing domain" say 'ChargeCustomerCreditcard' used within a totally different domain called "Hotel Booking domain" and 'ChargeCustomerCreditCard'. As I said earlier, if you cannot define something in the last 5/6 years or this so called "SOA"zing, better state it clearly.
