It seems that the journals prefer English language. There are similar journals in other languages, eg. Zeitschrift für Angewandte Linguistik.Xx236 (talk) 10:58, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please note several aspects of our article contents practice and article style:

  1. We never use terms of quality or importance such as "seminal" unless there is a reliable third party reference for it. Similarly, in order to claim that a person is the originator or most important worker in a subject, a 3rd party reference is needed.
  2. When the name of a researcher is important enough to be mentioned in an article on a subject, they are usually notable enough for an article about them. to indicate this, give their full name--not just the family name--and make the link. When there is no article, the red link indicates that an article is needed.
  3. We try to avoid academic and educational jargon.
  4. Journal names and book titles are written in italics.
  5. We link only the first occurrence of a term in an article
  6. We do not link common terms that any reader will understand.
  7. Avoid one sentence paragraphs.
  8. The editor in chief of a journal or president of an organization is significant (and it is valuable to list all preceding people in these positions, because holding such a position for a major journal or organization is sufficient justification for an article about the individual) The other editorial staff or officers are usually not considered significant here.
  9. When you list presidents or chairs or editors or holders of any other positions, give the relevant date; even if it is the current year, it will need to be updated.
  10. If we list books, we include full information about publisher and date; we distinguish author and editor; if there are co-authors or co-editors, we list them.
  11. In an article, we do not repeat the name of a person or organization more than once a section unless needed for clarity. The best substitutes are such terms as "the university" (note:lower case), "it", she or heor "they".

Ways to improve Rosa Manchón

Hi, I'm Rosguill. EUROLinguistics, thanks for creating Rosa Manchón!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. The article is well written, but it is unclear if the subject meets notability guidelines such as WP:GNG or WP:NACADEMIC. Please provide either additional in-depth coverage of Manchón in reliable sources (to satisfy GNG) or evidence that Manchón is a widely cited and/or influential researcher in her field.

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, EUROLinguistics. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
