WP:Films Welcome

Welcome!

Hey, welcome to the Films WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of films and film characters. If you haven't already, please add {{User WikiProject Films}} to your user page.

A few features that you might find helpful:

  • Most of our important discussions about the project itself and its related articles take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.

There is a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

  • Want to jump right into editing? The style guidelines show things you should include.
  • Want to assist in some current backlogs within the project? Visit the Film Tasks template to see how you can help.
  • Want to know how good our articles are? Our assessment department has rated the quality of every film article in Wikipedia. Check it out!
  • Want to collaborate on articles? The Cinema Collaboration of the Week picks an article every week to work on together.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Nehrams2020 02:36, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Please do not remove the notice until an admin resolves the issue. If you have concerns, please direct them on the image's listing. --bluemask (talk) 02:59, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Voting for the Tambayan Philippines Collaboration #1 is ongoing

Hi! The voting for the article to be the first target of Tambayan Philippines Collaboration Department is ongoing. Please vote even if it is abstain. Thanks! --seav 08:49, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Don't sweat it. This is the first time we're seriously starting a Tambayan Collaboration project and the first one is a trial of sorts to see how the Tambayan community can get a handle on Wikipedia-style collaboration. Feel free to nominate other articles after the first collaboration. For now, you can vote on any of those currently nominated (or abstain if you're so inclined). :-) --seav 10:46, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

On the Subject of User Adoption

Yes, I would be interested in you adopting me. I'd appreciate any help you could give me on editing, and polishing up my user page so that it looks all fancy, etc. etc. etc. Thank you!

Well, to tell you of what I'm interested in, it's mainly anime\manga, 70s progressive rock\hard rock, video games, film, literature, and I'm interested in learning about computers. Thanks for those links you posted, and also for what you warned me about. (It was uploaded by somebody else, however, with copyright permission and all that I believe, so would is it still eligible for deletion?)

P.S. Well, as to where I would like to start off, I'm not sure.

About My New User Page Arrangement

Thank you for my new page arrangement! The only problem was where it says "Favourites", I would have preferred "Favourite Books and Other Book-Related Things", or something similar to that, but that probably would have been too much text. I adjusted the title myself, if you don't mind me adjusting what you put there. And thank you again for dividing up the userbox sections, as well as changing that one section to "About Me", which I should have thought of instead of putting that long title but the reasoning behind why I didn't being that I was tired, and all that cal.

I Love the New Arrangement and Colors

They're great, thanks!

Hello Again

Yes, I do like some of Phil Collins's solo material, although I haven't heard much of it. (My mother is more into his solo work, while I prefer the likes of his ex-bandmate, Peter Gabriel) However, I've never heard Cream. (But I do plan on getting Wheels of Fire, it's on hold at my library) But it would be nice to really expand an article, so if you can tell me what you would like me to add to it, I'd be happy to oblige.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Elfenpromoposter.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Elfenpromoposter.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:51, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

The Award

Hey, thank you for the award, I really appreciate it! I didn't add the infobox to that article, other people edited it and tidied up, but I created the article, of course, as per a request to do so. (There was a tag in the article for the franchise itself, saying that the TV drama section should be split off and made into its own article, so I put up a basic outline of sorts using the information from the original article. However, I became frustrated when I noticed that there were two things done to the article that I should have remembered to do myself (I.E. the infobox, which I THOUGHT I had added, and a part of the article where the basic info was put, and a redirection link). I guess I MEANT to do them, but I forgot or was about to do them and at the last minute had to do something else. I think that in trying to transfer the infobox from the main YUA! article, I ran into trouble and so abandoned it and decided to wait for somebody else to put it up.

Anyhow, next I plan on putting information in the article on Full Metal Panic!, where I will note that the original light novel series has begun English translation (volume one is out now). I may even replace the DVD cover with a picture of the English edition of volume one, if I can figure out how to do it without it getting removed because of fair use and all that. I'm also removing a large portion of the anime section in that article, which discusses the plot and has been tagged as "too long compared to the rest of the article."

Requested move

I've moved 1986 EDSA Revolution to People Power Revolution, given no objections on the talk page and consensus at Talk:EDSA III.

I'm not sure about EDSA Revolution of 2001 and EDSA III, though, given the discussion at Talk:EDSA III. I'll hold off on that for now, unless someone just wants to list it at WP:RM. -- RG2 10:05, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Maxine McKew

Hi Eternal Dragon - your changes to Maxine McKew got reverted because despite what the press are saying, the result is NOT official yet. There is still a theoretical possibility of Howard winning (unlikely, but possible). As a result the AEC has not yet declared the seat, and neither McKew nor Howard has claimed/conceded. There are a couple of us checking the AEC website regularly and we will update as soon as it's official. See the McKew talk page for all of the details. People Power Revolution

Hello EternalD... It can't be forwarded to Peer Review this time, I think. First, the aftermath section still needs to be sourced and articles with maintenance tags are not legible (at the moment) for PR. If the to-do list will be all settled down, I think that's the better time to seek Peer Review. This one really needs hard effort; it's a big thing. Anyway, we can actually forward People Power Revolution anytime we wanted to, but, with great possibility, we will get the same feedback from reviewers.
