ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}

The Sims 4
Hello, FYI, ghosts are one of the biggest features of any sims game, and you can read about this topic further online if you do not believe me. I don't mean to sound rude but I have a feeling you have never played this game nor are very aware of it. PS, I was signed out of this account my mistake and had to edit with my IP. Kind regards. RedSorcery16 (talk) 18:44, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
- Many games *contain* ghosts. Doesn't mean they're *about* ghosts. In any case, I'm recusing myself from this debate. Not in the mood for video game arguments. Argue with the other editors xD 〜Festucalex • talk • contribs 18:47, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
I've reverted your recent revision to this article; "arrestfacts" is not a remotely appropriate source for WP:BLP. There may be some reasonable sources available regarding controversey around this subject, but that needs to be approached carefully and be very well sourced. OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:02, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
- Understood. I was reverting edits that seemed to constitute vandalism. I'll leave this in your hands. 〜Festucalex • talk • contribs 18:04, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
Speedy deletion contested: Draft:RENANDA REZA CAHYONO
Hello Festucalex. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Draft:RENANDA REZA CAHYONO, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Only mainspace articles are eligible for A7. Thank you. BangJan1999 14:18, 31 March 2023 (UTC)

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Yussuf A Aleem
Hello Festucalex, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I deleted Yussuf A Aleem, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct criterion is used. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 10:42, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
- Ivanvector I tagged it as A7 because I didn't see any obvious evidence for it being G11. 〜 Festucalex • talk 10:44, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
- To be honest I rarely approve A7 requests - the bar to a credible claim of significance is very low, much lower than notability. By definition, a page promoting its subject will have made a claim of significance, so G11 is more likely to apply. In this case, there was already a suspicion of undisclosed paid editing when the article was moved to draft, but the creator removed the COI tags and pushed it back to mainspace it looks like four times without addressing the concerns or making any significant improvements. It was clear they were intending to write an advertisement masquerading as an article, and for me that intent also meets the definition for G11. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 10:59, 1 April 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Roeis
A tag has been placed on Roeis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Invitation to The Core Contest
Hey Alex! I noticed that you invited me to The Core Contest. I took a look and unfortunately I'll have to decline your invitation. I took a look at the relevant articles and all of them aren't of much interest to me either because the topic isn't interesting to me or its too broad for my taste. Some of the more broad topics are of interest to me, however I usually don't know where to begin with such broad topics. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:56, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Blaze Wolf: Totally understandable, I was just getting the word out. Feel free to use the template to invite others you think would be interested, since the contest begins in 3 days. On a sidenote, it only just now dawned on me that there's an "Alex" in my username. I only picked this as my username because of the cool fish. 〜 Festucalex • talk 20:59, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- That looks more like a snake than a fish but ok Ah interesting. I usually just pick out parts of people's usernames that I can remember. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 21:07, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Blaze Wolf: that's what makes it a cool fish 〜 Festucalex • talk 21:10, 11 April 2023 (UTC)

Help improving Vital articles
Could you help improve some articles in the Vital articles list? You seem to make a lot of nominations there without actually working on these articles yourself. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 14:43, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- @CactiStaccingCrane: I intend to, but I'm currently busy in real life. All I can spare is time for small edits. I'll put some more effort come July, most probably. 〜 Festucalex • talk 18:01, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

Crimea
Hi
If you attempt to launch a RM to move Russian occupation of Kherson Oblast to Kherson Oblast (Russia) it will be probably be rejected. So we need a solution to harmonise the titles on a way or in the other. Panam2014 (talk) 19:42, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Panam2014: What sort of bonkers talk page message is this? You really take WP:BLUDGEON to the next level. Keep the discussion in the RM discussion section. 〜 Festucalex • talk 19:45, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- I was polite to you. For some incomprehensible reason, Crimea and Kherson are treated differently. It is necessary to harmonize the titles. Panam2014 (talk) 19:49, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Panam2014: This discussion is supposed to be public, and thus mustn't be undertaken in my talk page (and kashmiri's talk page too, apparently.) 〜 Festucalex • talk 19:59, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- Kashmiri does not say a problem on my message and he agrees on the need to harmonize. A talk page is public. Panam2014 (talk) 20:03, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Panam2014: A talk page is not conveniently accessible. No one thinks to check the talk pages of the participants of an RM. That's why it's improper to flood others with talk page messages for disagreeing with you on a !vote. 〜 Festucalex • talk 20:09, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- Nothing prohibits writing on the talk page. The goal is not to clutter the voting page. Panam2014 (talk) 20:10, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Panam2014: You have obviously failed to prevent clutter on the voting page, since you're repeating here the same things you're saying there. Let us both calm down, this is getting us absolutely nowhere. I'm leaving this discussion in your hands. 〜 Festucalex • talk 20:15, 18 June 2023 (UTC)

Trial of Lina E.
Nowhere in either of the sources is the word "celebrated" used. "Commemorate" is more appropriate and cogent. If I'm mistaken, please specify the exact quote from the cited source. PhonecianRhythms (talk) 08:16, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- @PhonecianRhythms: The word "commemorate" is already used in the sentence (
During this incident, six individuals were attacked during a ceremony commemorating the Dresden bombings, an event often celebrated by the German far-right
). If you so wish, you can replace "celebrated" with "attended" or something similar, although I myself see no problem with "celebrated". 〜 Festucalex • talk 08:34, 7 July 2023 (UTC)- I think "attended" is more appropriate. "Celebrated" has very different connotations, particularly in this regard. Thank you for the help. PhonecianRhythms (talk) 16:57, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
