Edit conflict

[edit]

Well my buddy EncMstr scooped me on the welcome message, but...

Yay! Welcome aboard bro! Let me know if you have any questions--people seem to think I know my way around here pretty well and I have managed to not piss too many people off so far. :) I don't know how you feel about userboxen but feel free to grab the Manx one I made. And of course we can always use more help at WikiProject Oregon, especially on the political stuff. (Come...come...do not be afraaaaid! Mwahahaha!) See you around the wiki! Katr67 19:15, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. There are some nifty vandal-fighting tools you can add to your monobook that are very handy for the gnomish sort... Katr67 19:17, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(Didn't want the welcome to be biased, nor an inside job. :-) —EncMstr 19:25, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Doh! Darn that conflict of interest! Nothing to see here, move along... :P Katr67 19:28, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hints

[edit]

Hey I was stalking you seeing what you've been up to (and I can't figure out a way to say that without ending in a preposition), and I noticed that you warned a user about his copyvio/vanity article. Thing is, you put a notabilty tag on the article, but told him you had added a {{db}} (speedy). I suspect the thing will just sit there. It might be speedy-able, but first try a {{prod}} tag--that will make it go away in 5 days if uncontested. If contested, then go for the wonderful world of an afd... Oh, and though it's tempting to call things "badly written", some people think stuff like that is a wee bit uncivil. Feel free to tell me to mind my own business. Civilly, of course. :P Katr67 00:42, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See how it looks now. Better? Point taken on civility...but it's extremely tempting after editing an article to make it look like it was written by someone whose first language is English... and I'm the MATH geek in the family.  :-) Finngall 01:35, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, that's the way to do it. :D Good luck! Katr67 01:46, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

subst:

[edit]

When using certain template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. REDVEЯS 20:48, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Two points:
  • 1. I've generally only left out the subst: text when it seems redundant, i.e. if someone has already been warned with {{subst:uw-vandalism1|foo}}, {{subst:uw-vandalism2|foo}}, and {{subst:uw-vandalism3|foo}}, then I would have assumed that {{uw-vandalism4}} would be sufficent if they're still vandalising the same page.
  • 2. I'm curious as to why leaving out the subst: increases server load. That seems backwards to me.
In any case, thanks for the advice. Finngall 21:31, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
When you put a non-subst: {{template}} on a page, every time that page is loaded the server gets a brand new copy of the template from the original.
If you put subst: in front of the name, the server makes a one-off copy direct to the page and never goes back to check again.
If you leave subst: off, you're not preventing redundancy in any way. But you are slowing Wikipedia down every time the page is reloaded. A subst: (which means "substitute") stops that happening, uses no more bandwidth than would have been used by a single viewing of the page and helps prevent vandals trying to track down the template in order to vandalise it.
As a rule of thumb, always subst: unless the template is being put on an article. Wikipedia:Template substitution has more advice, but please ask if I can clarify anything. Happy editing! REDVEЯS 22:06, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, got it. Thanks again. Finngall 22:09, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Careful!

[edit]

Hi, Finngall. Thanks for reverting the vandalism to the article Criticism of Wikipedia, but in this edit you failed to notice that although you restored the sections the vandal had removed here, you didn't restore the sections the vandal had removed here. I reverted to a version before the first vandalism, and then restored the edits made subsequently. It's not a big deal, but try to be more careful when reverting vandalism in the future. Thanks! —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 05:23, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'm usually better about checking these things. Take care. Finngall 02:28, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I Db'd it, because it has 1 g-hit, and it was from IVANHOE's own website. It seems like this is a product that is still being developed, and the article is just being posted more as an advertisement. I wasn't able to establish any notability. We'll see what the administrator thinks, if he/she doesn't think it should be a speedy delete, than it can go to AfD, because I'm skeptical. Size 14

[edit]

You tagged me pretty fast boss!! If you look at the Size 14 talk page I included several links to show the bands notability. If you run the google test I think you'll see it also meets Wikipedia's requirements (if you can get past all the unrelated size 14 clothes and such). If you could please remove the speedy deletion tag. Thanks for patrolling new articles though and welcome to Wikipedia!--Twintone 21:32, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

David Vandervelde from divinevelocity

[edit]

hey, fingall. sorry if i miswrote or published the article too soon. I researched the info on David a while ago because I wanted to know more about who wrote the music behind NOOMA's. If he didn't have a national tour and some albums, I can see how he might better be listed on the NOOMA page. The fact he stared in one of them (not by name), and is being nationally recognized more and more, I think lends significance. divinevelocity

I'll withdraw the speedy tag. Thanks. --Finngall 01:58, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My Apologies

[edit]

I apolagize for the trouble students in my school have been giving you. The IP address 169.244.136.226. is that of my school, and, though I am not one of the vandals, I would like to cincerly apologize for the behaviors of my fellow peers, whether they are jerks or not. I just wanted to make sure that there are no hard feelings.

I am going to assume that this is just a combination of a missunderstanding and a computer glitch, because the other option is not a very nice one: I would like to fix the mess however the exact minute that I began putting some substance into the article I was writing you folks came in an quashed it for the second time. Unless you are actually a descendant of Edward Bishop of Salem MA the Husband of Bridget Bishop the American Martyr to Religious Freedom of 1692 I must ask you to refrain from meddling with my atttempt to write a decent article about him. Dear Finngall: I'm the author of the article on "Broken Wing Theatre". Being new to Wikipedia, I deleted your "speedy deletion" tag without knowing what it was (I thought it was something I'd put there inadvertently). My apologies. Regarding the "Broken Wing" article, I've added a "hang on" request, and made a plea for retention of the article on the "Talk: Broken Wing Theatre" page. Hopefully, this is all within the accepted protocols of Wikipedia. Yours sincerely, Ristudi.

Hey... sorry I got so mad.

[edit]

Hey. Here's my predicament.

I know the artist, he is very very popular, and has performed all over the U.S. and Canada. I am trying to create a page for him just to INFORM the greater body of wikipedians and non-wikipedians alike. Now, after an Hour of work, I have had my page, still in progress, deleted by Another user. I see what you mean by "creating the article before you post it", yet I just wated to see if it would work, and the preveiw button wasn't showing up. So, I tried, but I'm going to take your sage advice to heart. Thats all, thanks. I am your father. 15:45, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy. If you have to remove it, that's fine - they're not very popular yet. There really isn't a whole lot of information available to make a hearty Wiki article anyway.

Hey - It's Me - You Just Deleted Nezdar

[edit]

Hiya. Thanks for the quick delete and the talk message. I was just wondering your basis for the deletion. In our school, Nezdar is a mythical creature believed in by, I'd say, 20% of the population. I figured I'd create a Wikipedia article about it. I figure this article is no different from those on Bigfoot or the Nessie, it just applies to a much smaller group of people. There is nothing offensive to anybody in particular, it's just a myth that me and my friends made up and like to believe in as something fun. If you think that this is not basis enough to keep my Nezdar page, then thank you for your time. Please write back! Nezdar 21:55, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Joe Murphy page

[edit]

Hello, I created this bio page for the recently deceased podcaster Joe Murphy. I dont understand why do you think it should be deleted. Is a work in progress, and the basic biographical info will be there soon. Please let me know what the problem is and I'll do my best to edit it. Also, this is my first contribution to wikipedia, so I'm sorry if I made some stupid mistake.

--Mklopez 21:53, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the feedback. The page is a community effort from the fans of Joe, so it might take a day or two until all the bio data is in place from all the contributors. Is that acceptable? I really dont have much idea about the accepted timelines for completing new articles.

I see you put the "up for deletion" box back. It clearly states that I should remove it if I think the article deserves to stay - which I do and have argued for on the discussions page. --dllu 23:02, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I know it's good Wikipedia behaviour to leave comments to justify your edits etc. Frankly I'm surprised to see someone who calls himself a "patroller" and apparently feels he has some special responsibility, disregard that rule so blatantly. --dllu 23:20, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tom Mabe

[edit]

I noticed that you placed the article Tom Mabe up for deletion. While the article may not assert the notability of the subject, he is is indeed notable. The article is lacking in content, but that does not make the subject any less important. As I mentioned in the AFD debate, Tom Mabe is a regular on The Bob and Tom Show and has been interviewed by CNN. I understand your desire to eliminate some of the unnecessary articles (of which there is definitely an abundance), but not everything needs to go. Some articles start out as stubs and then are exapanded. My advice to you is to do some research on the topic before you make a snap decision to nominate the article. --Cyrus Andiron 18:42, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As I said, the article still looked speedy-able. I may have acted hastily, but I'm certainly not personally invested in which way the AfD goes. I'm still looking for where SqueakBox think I've "misrepresented" his comments, though. Thanks. --Finngall talk 18:49, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your recent comments:

I'm willing to make whatever changes needed for the article to conform to the policies and standards, but I do not see where/how the content shows bias or conflict of interest. In addition, the article is describing neither a product or a company; it is a form of education (much like one would term "public school", "private school", "home school", etc.) -- so the purpose of the article is merely to describe the history and concept to those researching the UMS concept.

I'll forego entering entries for "NAUMS" and "UMS" at this time, until public interest warrants it.

Again, if you have specific points of concern, I'm open to feedback. But, I do not see or understand the basis for your concern.

Thank you. --NAUMS, Inc. 19:20, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added this page becuase it is a common question among young people in Scotland when myself and other people from the Scottish Youth Parliament are out talking about our work. I added this page to try and help and also to lead them on to the Scottish Youth Parliament page.

Would it help if I make the page a redirect to Scottish Youth Parliament where the information is?

I think that the Tofu Delux article should have been given more of a chance. There are many more obscure bands that you've never heard of who have articles, and these guys rock. Hi Finngall,

Hang on, will you? Just leave me time. I am busy. I inserted a pic. At least people can look at the pic, and download it if they are collectors. A pic is also a useful information, especially for tourists: can you understand this??? Maybe not!!!!!! :-) :-) :-) Wikipedia should be a hobby, and NOT a strain, a hassle, and a pain in the arse!!! Or I'll be fed up with it. Is it what you want??? To discourage people??? Maybe you feel empowered and you like it!!! Regards :-) :-) :-) Gafia (A.Leroux)

PS. Maybe, I'll delete it myself after all!!!!!!!!

My entries

[edit]

Sorry Finngall, added my opinions in the wrong place... as I said, I'm a newbie! I'm planning on adding a lot of marketing & business terms which I'll then develop and add more information as time goes on. I believe these are worthy of not being 'packed together' with other more generic terms. I know my staff (and presumably many other people) will find worth in more specific topics, such as the ones I've been adding.

Hope you'll be more lenient in future, however you've been doing this a lot longer than me and surely know best!

Blurpinkle Notability is well established

[edit]

Hello Finngall. I am not experimenting with Wikipedia with Blurpinkle. Blurpinkle's notability is well established and I am siting sources both within and without wikipedia and national and international books and magazines as well as actor and performance artist Blackout who has met all of wikipedias notability standards. Please do not speedilly delete articles before they are finished and especially when it is noted that the article is curently being worked on and sited and wikified properly. Hi - Could you take another look at United States-South America relations - someone removed your speedy delete tag, and I think you were right in the first place. I'm not too clear on the process of speedy delete, so could you do it again? Note that this article is not at all about US-SA relations - those certainly began before Bush was President - this is just about a trip that Bush took. The editor who created the page has been trying to get it added to George W. Bush but it has not been shown to be notable enough to be there, so he started an article about it. Thanks for your help. Regarding the article "Paul Mazzuca"

Finngall,

Having deleted article "Paul Mazzuca", I simply wonder in what sense this article appeared to be a "hoax". Out of curiousity, did you ever go about reading the 'talkpage' attached? Perhaps there are more sources needed to back a well known Professor's biographical study, and hence, I have provided such means.

To examine, here are just a few sources confirming many factual statements within the article "Paul Mazzuca". Once these have been perused, I cannot help but expect the article to maintain its position on Wikipedia Encyclopedia.

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Jake Dinwiddie. I do not think that Jake Dinwiddie fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because the copied information is a simple list of facts. Under the Feist decision of the US Supreme Court, a mere list of facts in an obvious order (here chronological) is not protected by copyright. And here the list order was even changed from the source, by introducing a genre division. I request that you not re-tag Jake Dinwiddie for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES (talk) 11:31, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging of Uni-Returni

[edit]

Hey, I saw you placed a patent nonsense tag on Uni-Returni. I've removed the tag, as the article doesn't fall under any criteria for speedy deletion. While regrettable, patent nonsense does not include hoaxes or poorly written material (or articles which claim the authors ownership over wikipedia), just thought I'd point this out to you, it's reserved for content that literally could make no sense to anyone, and this article did read coherently. That aside, keep up the good work. - Zeibura S. Kathau (Info | Talk) 22:27, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Finngall,

It is important that we'll have this definition in Wikipedia, since this is a company that is getting a lot of attention for it's unique technology and bald concept regarding online consumer healthcare. Many companies in this field such as www.revelutionhealth.com and www.healthline.com have Wikipedia definitions and we don't find a good reason not to share this our information with the Wikipedia community and readers. We feel that it is important to publish content about the online healthcare industry as it is a new industry and requires the attention of the Wikipedia community. iMedix is a website, that is geared towards the English speaking markets and has already received a great interest from bloggers and journalists. Later on, we intend to add important and useful information regarding this industry and other web application that can improve and help consumers to make better health related decisions. In addition, once our patent pending will be approved, we'll be delighted to share our technology and concepts with the Wikipedia community. Since we've been using Wikipedia for a long time, but haven't been active in adding new content, we would be grateful if you could guide us with right way to publish and share this information with the community.

We hope that consumers will find this and our future entries useful. Sincerely Yours,

The iMedix Team.

You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Hi, I am sorry if the edit summary was a bit harsh. The article was created by a brand new user. Probably doesn't know the rules and is likely to be contributing incrementally. Putting up someone's first work for deletion isn't the most encouraging of starts, Wikipedia relies on volunteers and we won't get any more by immediately flagging up their work as being so poor it should be deleted. When I removed the speedy tag I had every intention of carrying out the deletion, I kept it open in its own window so I could keep an eye on it and get rid of it if it wasn't expanded on shortly. It's just random chance that someone else happened along and expand it. I'm not saying what you did was wrong per se, I just mean that a wait-and-see approach might lead to Wikipedia being a more inclusive environment. If the article was a load of nonsense I wouldn't have thought twice about it but it was clearly an attempt to positively contribute. At the end of the day this is all about judgement calls, I made a bad one with my edit summary and for that I apologise. Mallanox 21:03, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't agree with the speedy deletion

[edit]

Why big (and not only big) Insurance and financial services companies like zurich financial services or aviva group have their articles in wikipedia? Isn't it a blatant advertising? My article about smaller company was deleted for the second time with no explanation, just because apparently, it was a blatant advertising. although it was just a pure information about the company's history and products. What are the rules on deciding what is advertising, and what is not? The companies i've mentioned above (and the companies i found in wikipedia's contents 'insurance companies based in UK' also have their external links to their websites. Could you give me explanation what was the difference between my deleted article and these articles? Rentguard 16:26, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What do you want me to do? JSL595 16:28, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adam Torkildson, Hamlet Homes, Browser Media, Cascade Collision

[edit]

It's like you have just been following me around marking all of my articles for deletion. They are all in the beginning stages, and I guess I should just start putting the hang on tag to every single one. DONT mark anymore of my articles. I will just put them back up again. As for my own Adam Torkildson wiki page, I will redirect it to my User page, happy? And the others are legitemate companies that need to be listed in the proper categories and rewritten to conform to wikipedia guidelines, but just hold off on the speedy deletion, okay?

I really don't understand how the Estimation Software page is advertising. It's a useful article of what estimation software should include, and has a link out to a relevant source. Tell me what it needs please so I can figure out what I'm doing wrong. ~~User:Yummytork~~

new page Saint Patricks Pipe Band

[edit]

Dear Fingall; you tagged this page for deletion before I had a chance to complete the article.

The Saint Patricks Pipe Band is a notable institution in CT.

It is nearly 100 years old

It is incorporated, and is a qualified 501c3 education and cultural orgazation

It leads the major irish parades in CT

It is engaged in endless charitable and community activities

it has won competitive piping championships

There are at least 20 other pipes listed in Wikipedia.

The band is also a very colorful band, as its picutres will show as soon as I upload them

These pictures are in the public domain.

I believe you should reconsider undeleting the page

ILevel page

[edit]

The page that I created was tagged as an add because it was my first posting!! I admit i am very much a novice~ THe page was called ILevel and it is defining a technique called art installation- this is a valid entry as this is a standard in the interior design world and its not to be confused with Installation Art- how can I edit this page to make it a non-advertisement. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jimstillwell (talkcontribs).

I wish to know what rules I'm breaking exactly under the notability code. It is too long for anyone to read and I'm just doing what was expected of me by my higher ups in United Championship Wrestling. Please let me know, thanks.

Thankyou for removing the speedy delete tag on the golam rabbani article I appreciate it

Hello. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag of the Golam Rabbani article, as I believe it should be speedily deleted. The problem in question is not notability, but the lack of context in the article. Wikipedia:Stubs clearly states that very short articles are subject to deletion. Thank you. Yours truly, Eddie 22:07, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should let an admin decide whether it should be deleted or not. Please create subpages for articles that you have not completed instead of creating new, incomplete articles that are subject to deletion. Thank you. Yours truly, Eddie 22:10, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I know you have not created the article. I left you this message because you removed the speedy deletion tag and I thought you should be explained why I reverted you. Please don't think of this as an admonishment (I don't know how to use this word; please excuse my English if I'm using it incorrectly), as it is only an explanation. Thank you. Yours truly, Eddie 22:22, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If an article is going to be under construction for several days (or longer), it should not be in the main namespace. Currently, articles like Golam Rabbani do not qualify for inclusion. However, the articles can remain in user subpages or WikiProject subpages if you prefer. If you'd like to do that, move the page using the move tab and then mark the redirect for speedy deletion (WP:CSD#R2). Please let me know how you'd like to proceed. Cheers. --MZMcBride 01:13, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No Hope

[edit]

Perhaps I'm too tolerant, although your comment on WP:AGF is apposite. I think that if someone is really trying to put an article together, as opposed to producing mindless vandalism, then I don't really feel the need to be to awful to them. and if he plays in a subpage he won't keep coming back to mainspace.--Anthony.bradbury 21:26, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If the claim made is not true, then feel free to take the article to WP:AFD. The A7 speedy criteria that you wanted it deleted under says that the article does not assert the importance of the subject. The claim of him being a MLB pitcher is most definitely an assertion of importance. Thus, the A7 Speedy deletion criteria is invalid. Speedy deletion is for very specific cases, and this one does not fit. If Speedy does not fit, but you still believe that the article should be deleted, you need to put the article through WP:PROD or WP:AFD. My decline of the Speedy was only on the grounds of it not meeting the Speedy criteria, and had no say one way or another on whether the article should be deleted by AFD. - TexasAndroid 22:48, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You posted on the author's talk page about the Joseph Zikry article being speedied.

I'm not sure if you're the one who added the speedy tag (it's already been deleted, so there's no way to check), but I think that simply slapping a speedy tag on an article and informing the author is the wrong way to go about dealing with articles of questionable notability (aside from the fact that notability itself is irrelevant).

I realize policy disagrees with me, but I think policy is wrong, and here are my arguments that I hope you will consider:

Most sane people don't keep an eagle-eye on Wikipedia 24/7. If the author isn't around at the time the article is taged {{speedy}}, then it can easily be deleted before he has a chance to do anything about it. When he does come back, he sees that his work has been deleted, without having a chance to fix what he was told he was wrong with it. Needless to say, this can easily alienate a new, good-faith contributor.

A better solution is to give an article a chance. If it turns out that it is totally unredeemable, then it can easily be deleted through the normal process, or even perhaps through PROD.

But speedies should be reserved for blatant vandalism, spam, nonsense, copyvios, personal attacks, etc. It shouldn't be applied to good-faith content. It's not worth the possibility of pissing potential new contributors off.

See my essay, Wikipedia:Give an article a chance, for more.

Thanks!

I decided to put the CCES on there was because i have been to the competition twice and it has got a fair amount of people in it but it isn't on wikipedia yet. I just wanted more people to know about it. Inghamchicken 05:37, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Finngall! I cleaned up the Arden WOhl page, can you remove the deletion tag ..please..pretty please! Arden has raised significant funds for charity and is a big environmental advocate...thanks

SORRY

[edit]

It's xgmx, sry I wont create stupid pages any more, exept that smartass one was actually factual. Also Jango Fett1 is based off the Star Wars character Jango Fett.

please dont ban me, ill stop

May I inquire as to why the article Smartass was deleted?

[edit]

The information there is actually true.

i can see you replied.

but i have proof that it is true, ask these 6 people

Bodo, Qazzy, ROOK, SDVS Andrew8228, Razor, and me

==regarding Arden Wohl== she is doing alot with a documentary with George Cloony regarding exploitation of children, please dont delete..this is a good thing...why is someone like Paris Hilton in wiki and you want to take out Arden?

Deltion of Articles

[edit]

I was told it was ok to remove the deletion tag as long as we say why we removed it on the talk page. That was the comment left on my page if you want to read it. I don't log on here too much and it said if the tag wasnt removed the page would be deleted. That's why I removed the tag, but of course kept the conversation going on the article's talk page.Arnabdas 16:30, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PureVolume

[edit]

I would quite happily direct the multitudes of "our album is forthcoming on our own label and we have a myspace page so let us have an article at Wikipedia puh-leeeeze" contributors to this site. I actually suspect it meets the notability requirements of WP:WEB, much like Virb; the problem is that it appears employees of the parent company are heavily involved in writing these articles. But yeah, next time I get lambasted by an article originator for a speedy of their band (which I should have seen the obvious notability of because they played one show in their high school auditorium), I think I will subtly nudge them towards PureVolume...--Isotope23 19:54, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Arden Wohl

[edit]

thanks for the comment! Arden Wohl is surely an up and coming entity, I am going to do a stub on The Playground Project...I dont personally know Arden...hehe it must seem like I do because of how I am fighting, but I think she is a good example of what Hollywood should be about, sending a message, not just making money!!! by the way I fixed up my site because of the information you had on your website!!! your website is pretty awesome...sorry if I came across like a spoiled sorority girl who didnt get a poney on her 16th birthday!!! hehe thanks again, this wikipedia is still new to me!!! and we need people like you to help us silly girls!! thanks,

==Arden Wohl== thanks, sorry I misunderstood the process (I am new) the policy clearly states that after 5 days anybody can remove the tags...sorry just so frustrating to a newbie like me, and I worked so hard to clean this article up!! :O) how long is this going to take!!

Annalee Page

[edit]

Hello. Just wondering why people keep deleting my page. It's kind of annoying. I read the "Blatant Advertising" rules but to be honesting I was already in the process of editing when someone deleted it! I guess my first try may have looked like advertising (as it was text off the Annalee.com website) but as I say I was mid-editing. A bit of feedback (i.e. specifically what is wrong / what I should change) would be nice instead of just deleting. Any suggestions?

ILevel/Art Installation page

[edit]

Thanks for your direction and feedback- I had titled the page Ilevel as Art Installation did not seem to be "availalbe" and your idea about a redirect is quite helpful. My decision to title the entry Ilevel was based upon the company that pioneer this technique and was not meant as an advertisement. I will practice the things you suggested and present something a bit more acceptable. Clarly I am a novice at this but am enjopying this community greatly. Thank You!!

I had hoped to find evidence of notability for South Dakota Film Festival, but I haven't found anything yet to prove notability. http://aberdeen.planetdiscover.com/sp?aff=100&selector=http%3A%2F%2Faberdeen.planetdiscover.com%2Fsp&keywords=film+festival&submit=Go lists three pages that appear to deal with film festivals, but I don't want to pay for access to those articles. I couldn't find anything at http://www.Variety.com or http://findarticles.com/ You can replace the speedy if you want, but I suspect that there will eventually be coverage in reliable sources of the festival. --Eastmain 17:25, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
