Dundas Street

Your correction of Dundas street to remove the mention of the town of dundas is obsuring fact. "The road connects the city of Toronto with its western suburbs and several cities in southwestern Ontario." obsures the fact that the road goes to dundas. I don't understand why you remove mention of the town at the end of the road. This is not the London road - that is the 401. This is the Dundas road. it goes to dundas. Dundas street also goes from london to dundas via woodstock. Please explain why an article on Dundas Street ignores the town it is named after? Thanks, Hope I don't sound angry, I am just confused why. chris@priestdata.com

The road also goes to Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Paris, Woodstock, Thamesford and London. The town was actually named after the road, given that the road was built c. 1794 and the Hamilton area wasn't established until 1816. It was built to connect to London. The article certainly mentions the town, it just doesn't focus on it because it's one of many places along the road. - Floydian τ ¢ 19:44, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

Highway 402

Do you have access to old MTO archives for construction on Highway 402 in the late 1990s and early 2000s? FobTown (talk) 00:30, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

Unfortunately not at this time. I used to have photos of the Highway Construction Reports that were published through the 80s. They're available at the reference stacks at the Toronto Reference Library. Hoping to make it there this summer. I'll check Canadian Newsstand and newspaper.com for anything tomorrow. - Floydian τ ¢ 00:53, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
  • [1]
  • [2] Might need access from your local library for this one, so here's the abstract if so:
    • "Improvements to a 12-kilometre section of Highway 402 in Sarnia worth $16.4 million should begin next week, delighting local advocates for better roads.
Work on the 12-kilometre section between Murphy and Mandaumin roads will finish next summer and involves rehabilitation of pavement and paving the shoulders. Improvements to the intersection of Highway 40 and Wellington Street have been piggybacked on the Highway 402 contract."
  • [3]
    • "Ontario's Transport Ministry has begun the process of expropriating land for a new east-bound on-ramp from Front Street to Highway 402.
That new ramp will be needed when the new truck ramp is built from the customs plaza so transport trucks can flow directly onto Highway 402. Currently, they have to turn onto the highway from Marina Road. "It's a bit of a jog right there and it gets congested," [Michael Swim] said"
  • [4]
    • "The Christina Street overpass is, of course, only part of a massive, three-year expansion of the highway from the Bluewater Bridge east to Murphy Road. It's expected to be completed by the end of this summer.Bot Construction of Oakville began work in August 2009 to widen the highway and upgrade several overpasses along that busy stretch."

There's honestly quite a bit on ProQuest when you search for "Highway 402" "construction", so you should see if your local library has Canadian Newsstream in their digital newspaper collection. - Floydian τ ¢ 03:45, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for providing the links, particularly the Front Street interchange reconfiguration for the new truck ramp from Customs. FobTown (talk) 16:27, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

Talk comment on Peng

I'm not sure where your comment came from. Could you elaborate? Maybe I miscommunicated something. CurryCity (talk) 06:10, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

On one hand you've said that FobTown should follow consensus, but then you said that you don't think an RfC should be determining the content of the Lede. The whole point is for getting third, fourth and fifth opinions to overcome the stalemate the two of you are at, and you should accept that it may not be the outcome hoped for. Make your case, but don't try to invalidate the consensus building process. - Floydian τ ¢ 13:18, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
You opened RfC specifically regarding inclusion/exclusion of 1 interview, but now it's discussing the re-write of at least 2 whole paragraphs in lead. Which process is invalidated by pointing that out? CurryCity (talk) 05:20, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

Band nationalities

In total agreement with you, but I think you meant the Young brothers, not the Malcolm brothers... ;-) Richard3120 (talk) 21:54, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
