Contesting Speedy Deletion
Charlie Crowe is a well known media industry figure and that is why I have created this page. Please let me know if you need any more clarification. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CCConsulting (talk • contribs) 10:24, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Operation Hokki
The significance of Operation Hokki is clearly demonstrated in terms of the content of the page. I stated that the Operation was the largest landing operation undertaken in Finnish history, as well as it being the only airborne operation conducted by the Republic of Finland during World War II. — Preceding unsigned comment added by The Copper Miner (talk • contribs) 17:45, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

I just watched the pilot on ABC's website, and the production company is listed as Unaccountable Freaks Productions, not Overwhelmed Productions (which is registered to Steven Cragg, but generally writing duos create a new name for the company, as is the case here). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zachattack9 (talk • contribs) 16:41, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

DRofus -> dRofus
Hi,
Just visited https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DRofus and saw that the product name was wrong. It's actually dRofus (starting with lower case 'd' then capital 'R'). I tried to update but was dismissed as unproductive. I would like to contribute to this page but wanted to start with correcting the product spelling - also in the page name.

Rollback granted
Hi Fuortu. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Widr (talk) 06:58, 23 August 2016 (UTC)

It appears that two pages were both tagged for WP:A10 as pointing to each other. I changed Pam Kijoran to WP:A7, musician with no credible claim of significance. If that is contested, there is still a unsourced BLP tag. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:10, 23 August 2016 (UTC)

Difficult dabs
Hi and sorry if you're already aware of that:The {{dn}} tag that sometimes follows dab links means that someone has already made an effort to disambiguate the link and hasn't succeeded – so that's probably a tough one. And unless the text around the link has been reworded or the dab page has been expanded, the situation isn't going to change. I'd caution against disambiguating such links unless you have relevant domain knowledge or are willing to do the research. Thanks. Uanfala (talk) 16:07, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Uanfala, I linked to that based on this book. According to that book Taraka is "Brihaspati's wife". In Taraka (goddess), Taraka is also the second consort of Hindu God Brihaspati, God of planet Jupiter. So, I assumed that this is correct link. Fuortu (talk) 16:21, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- Are you referring to the text on page 19? That one is unambiguously about Tarakasura. Uanfala (talk) 16:26, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- I am referring to "Tarakamaya". Are Tarakasura and Tarakamaya the same person? Fuortu (talk) 16:31, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, I see what's tripped you up. Tarakamaya is not a character but the name of a conflict (p. 20 of your book). But what you've read was the text on p. 321 when it says that Soma was involved in causing the Tarakamaya war (apparently by abducting Taraka (goddess). And you've probably made the connection with the text in the article under question, where Soma and Taraka are mentioned in the same paragraph. But this is an enumeration of events associated with a given place (the first event was a sacrifice performed by Soma, the other one a war in which Taraka was killed). So 1) there's no connection with Soma; 2) the events associated with the two Tarakas are different. Uanfala (talk) 17:34, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, I didn't think that it was the name of a conflict. So you're saying that the character named Taraka is not Taraka (goddess)? The book said atleast two times that Taraka is wife of Brihaspati. Anyway, thanks for explaining to me. I think we should not disambiguate unless we're sure. Fuortu (talk) 22:20, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- The book says all kinds of things about all kinds of characters, and it's meant to – it's an index to the vast body of Puranic mythology. The mention of Taraka in Saraswata Kingdom doesn't give us enough context to be completely sure, but it's very likely this is the asura, and very unlikely it's the goddess. Anyway, Hindu mythology is an area where I feel it's usually tricky to disambiguate. Uanfala (talk) 08:11, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree with you. Let's hope that it will be disambiguated in future. Fuortu (talk) 08:28, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

The dwarves hate electronics and latch on to people more without the use of these as they scare them. They are not used to new technology. When they find a queen they latch on to her and rip her soul out. They wait until alights out and but by bit inhale her into there body and latch on to her. They will not leave her once latched on. When finished the attatchhcement you will hear motor vehicles items will be flung and a bright red light will appear. Once you hear that the dwarves are attatched. Once attatched they will come visible to you bit by bit and then never leave you. You will begin to hear voices and noises and your friends will even become the enemy. These are very dangerous dwarve ghosts and once latched on all I say is run as fast as you can away from Wicklow mountains. But once there latched they are coming home with you " . Why? - Now Laurel Lodged, the text in question was inserted by one anonymous user [1] and then was removed by another anonymous user [2]. Fuortu saw the second anonymous user's removal, hastily assumed it was vandalism and reverted it. And that's the diff that you gave. Uanfala (talk) 11:12, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, I should've examined that edit carefully before reverting it. There are many stories of "Wicklow ghosts" on the internet but probably that edit wasn't vandalism. That editor didn't remove the whole thing correctly, I mean, they left some part and removed some text from unrelated paragraph so, it could be vandalism. I'm not sure. Glossary vs dictionary?
Hi Fuortu, thanks for reviewing my draft glossary. I see I have fallen foul of the WP:NOT policy & have put together a dictionary instead :(
I have followed the WP:MOS definition that a glossary needs to be "An alphabetically arranged list of a subject's terms, with definitions. Each term is followed by one or more explanatory (encyclopedia-style) definitions". Can you advise what needs to be done to create such a glossary of Prestressed Concrete terms? I have gone through Wiki's articles on both Glossaries and Dictionaries, and but am still in the dark on this distinction when it comes to producing a list of terms for a given subject.
The intention of the proposed glossary is to be a companion article to the existing Prestressed concrete and draft Draft:Prestressed_concrete_(Theory) and Draft:Prestressed_concrete_(Stressing systems) articles I am working through. Those two draft articles are likely to contain a fair degree of technical material, so a list of terms a reader could be referred to could be quite helpful.
At first I thought possibly all terms in a glossary had to be notable and (even better) have their own Wiki articles, but I have seen many existing glossaries which don't conform to this requirement, (see Glossary of blackjack terms and Glossary of British bricklaying. Both those glossaries are just a list of terms, most even without any sources. I was hoping that my submitted article was at least at the quality of these?
Any guidance would be much appreciated. ❮❮ GEEKSTREET Talk Lane ❯❯ 00:45, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- The definition you quoted from is not an official policy. Community consensus is needed for that to become a policy. Anyway, glossaries are acceptable on Wikipedia if the list of words is about a notable topic. I'm not sure why glossaries are allowed if Wikipedia is not a dictionary. Looks like glossaries are an exception to WP:NOT. I'll revert my decline and let another reviewer review your draft. Fuortu (talk) 11:28, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

- Hi, current sources do not show that he is notable. You need more independent reliable sources which cover him in detail. We write what other people say about him not what he says about himself, which means we need 3rd party sources. You can cite offline sources like newspapers, books, magazines etc. If there are sources in another language, you can cite them as well. Fuortu (talk) 15:57, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

I am new to Wikipedia. I modeled the Edward Neuman article on the existing one for his colleague - Jan Mycielski [1]. I would appreciate some help/suggestions on "What is missing?" in my submittion. I noticed that all four mathematical concepts named after Mycielski are referenced to Wikipedia articles - Is that possibly a requirement or a helpful thing for "notability" references? Thank you in advance for your assistance.DziegielewskiBA (talk) 16:43, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hi @DziegielewskiBA:, you have to add more sources which discuss the person in significant detail. Name-drops don't help. I generally look for news, magazines, books to see if the person is notable. You can't cite Wikipedia because it's like saying "because I said so". However, you can cite sources which are in those articles. And most importantly, you should add more sources which talk about the person and show the reviewers that he's notable. sodium
Hi, and thanks for your work on the Na article! It's great having another person working on chemical element articles, particularly such an important one. I see you've done excellent work with the referencing, as well!
BTW I think we could have a little more talk on Na as a reducing agent – I see we already mention the Birch reduction, but we should probably also mention that Na in ammonia solution is commonly used to reduce alkynes to trans-alkenes, and the more basic example of reacting with alcohols to give alkoxides. Since the chemistry of Na metal and its compounds is rather anonymous (it mostly gets used as a singly-charged innocuous counter-ion, and can be more easily covered with the other alkali metals) I think things like this should be fair game for the article. Double sharp (talk) 13:40, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- HI Double sharp, and yeah, we should include those things in the article. I think we can also expand the section about safety and precautions. I'll try to expand the article when I'm free. Thank you. Fuortu (talk) 22:31, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- I will add more information about safety and precautions. I found some information about precautions while I was trying to find sources. I will find that information again. - @Fuortu: If you actually give me a chance to write up the page, then you will see the relevance of the page. Sorry if I'm unable to write and get things quicker than your response to delete it every time.

Move discussion
Why did you move Feast 3: The Happy Finish to Feast III: The Happy Finish? On Talk:Feast III: The Happy Finish#Requested move 9 October 2016, the only response was a comment by me that stated that the IP editor was being disruptive. Can you move them back to their original titles, please? NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 17:02, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi NinjaRobotPirate , I moved it because no one has objected the move. You said they were being disruptive but you did not oppose or give any reasons why it should not be moved. Why do you oppose the move? Fuortu (talk) 17:28, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- This is silly. The IP editor copy-pasted a rationale by an administer in another move request, then changed a bunch of incoming links to break them. Do you need me to explicitly object to the move? Well, I'm doing that now – because there was no valid move rationale! It was copy-pasted from this conversation. Will you please just revert your move? NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 17:44, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- Even though it was copied from another discussion, it was a valid move request. Sources support their request. I'm sorry, I'm not going to revert my move. Fuortu (talk) 18:03, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- Alright. Maybe cleaning up after this IP editor's disruption has made me a bit more prone to knee-jerk "oppose" votes than usual. I still think it shouldn't have been moved, but I'll drop it. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 18:50, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Challenge Stakes disambiguation
Hi Fuortu, thank you for moving Challenge Stakes after the move I requested. It doesn't look quite right to me though - the dab page sits at Challenge Stakes (disambiguation), but - "the title of a disambiguation page is the ambiguous term itself, provided there is no primary topic for that term." per WP:DABNAME. There is no primary topic here, and I can see from the history that you had different ideas at different times before the final move. Would you be able to make "Challenge Stakes" the dab page, rather than just a redirect to the current one? Thank you --Bcp67 (talk) 19:44, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, you are right, there's no need for having "disambiguation" in the title because there is no primary topic. Moved it back to Challenge Stakes. Thanks Fuortu (talk) 21:24, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
- Great, thank you very much for your help with these moves - much appreciated. --Bcp67 (talk) 05:13, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
15:58:11, 4 September 2016 review of submission by SouthernSquire
Hi. Thank you for reviewing my submission, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Richard_S._Jaffe. Can you please elaborate? You commented said that I cited to many blogs. I did not cite a blog. AL.com is the online hub for the Birmingham News, Huntsville Times and the Mobile Press Register Newspapers. Unfortunately, all articles are posted under the URL blog.al.com. I have updated the citations to reflect that the publisher was the Birmingham News and resubmitted the post for review. Is that a sufficient enough edit or do I need to do more? Thank you for your consideration.— Preceding unsigned comment added by SouthernSquire (talk • contribs) 15:58, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Competition does not exist
The competition does not exist, should the artucle be deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:DA8:201:3512:448A:E63:6EBF:ACE1 (talk) 16:12, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
- You can nominate it for deletion if you want but it can't be speedy deleted. See WP:AFD for instructions on how to nominate but it will not be easy because you have to do it manually. Generally, Twinkle (semi-automatic tool) is used to nominate articles for deletion but you need autoconfirmed account to use it. However, if multiple reliable sources have talked about that competition, even if that competition didn't take place, I don't see why it should be deleted. Fuortu (talk) 16:35, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
The article Sodium you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Sodium for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. Phone number
Hi,
Thanks for your quick reaction on my phone number question.
There must have been some overlap of editing (I was doing a small edit on my "sources" paragraph), and after finishing I noticed that you had apparently deleted my "sources" paragraph together with the phone number. Was that just an accident, or was there something wrong with my contribution?
It's back in there now because due to that overlap I didn't notice all this until after finishing the edit, and the text had still been in my cache. --93.212.237.92 (talk) 17:26, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
- That is called "edit conflict". That is normal. That happens when someone makes an edit while you are editing. Looks like you added your text back and everything is OK now. Fuortu (talk) 17:47, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
- O.k., thanks. Just wanted to be sure you hadn't considered something to be wrong with my text. --93.212.237.92 (talk) 18:01, 23 October 2016 (UTC)

Hi Fuortu, first thanks for reviewing the draft on The Glover whisky in the first place. I have added more content, and many more references from national and trade press. Would be great if someone could look at it, though not sure how that works (was 3+ weeks ago); whether it's you who reviews again, or if other editors can pick it up for approval? I saw a colleague removed a Forbes citation, which I've replaced with two more suitable references. Cheers, twistedmouth — Preceding unsigned comment added by Twistedmouth (talk • contribs)
- It will be reviewed by another reviewer, but it will take some time. In the meantime, you can improve the draft. Happy editing! Fuortu (talk) 20:17, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

Talk redlinks post-round robin
Hi Fuortu, just an FYI, I created Talk:Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien to redirect to Talk:Runner2 after your round-robin move. Per WP:PMVR#rr step 4, please remember to re-create talk page redlinks post-move, as there are sometimes a lot of incoming links to newly-redlinked talk pages (and subpages). The reason this happens is that Page A may have a talk page, but redirect B does not. After the swap, "Talk:A" no longer exists.
In this example, see Special:WhatLinksHere/Talk:Runner2:_Future_Legend_of_Rhythm_Alien. The way I do it is, I check my own contributions for redlinked talk pages and subpages and re-create them. Hope that make sense, cheers :) — Andy W. (talk) 17:04, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
- OK, thanks. I'll remember that. By the way, thanks for creating closeRM and pageswap, they are very useful user scripts. :) Fuortu (talk) 18:56, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
Close at Talk:Catholic League (U.S.)
No one said it's a poll. It's a consensus discussion. WP:NCA is a guideline, not a policy. Consensus can override a guideline, and you have closed against an obvious consensus. Please provide a better rationale on the article talk page for all to see (not here or my talk page) or self-revert the closure. This message fulfills my requirement to discuss with you before I go to WP:MR. Thank you. Sundayclose (talk) 23:29, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
- I've expanded my closing rationale. I hope that helps. Fuortu (talk) 00:43, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
New Page Review needs your help
Hi Fuortu,
As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically).
Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted.
Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review.
It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial.

Steve "Clem" Grogan
Would you mind undoing your RM close at Talk:Steve "Clem" Grogan? I think that's a pretty strange result, as it is contrary to the previous RM about that page and didn't really have sufficient participation. In my opinion, it is contrary to WP:NICKNAME and contrary to what is ordinarily done on Wikipedia, and the quote marks are really not part of that person's name. There are various similar precedents, and I don't recall ever seeing one end up this way. I guess I wasn't paying attention over the last week. I can't blame you much for closing it the way you did, since there was no opposition expressed, but I find the provided rationale rather strange and I think this would not have happened if more discussion were allowed to occur (or if it was closed by a typical experienced admin, which is why non-admins are requested to exercise caution about closing RMs). —BarrelProof (talk) 03:13, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
- Hi BarrelProof. According to WP:NICKNAME, using quotation marks in title should be 'avoided', that means it is not entirely forbidden. RM at Talk:Ed "Too Tall" Jones, in which you participated, was closed in favor of having quotation marks and nickname in the title by an admin. If the name with quotation marks and nickname is common name, it is OK to use that as the title of the article. For example, see the RM discussion at Talk:Evelyn "Champagne" King. It is clear that "Steve "Clem" Grogan" is the common name because almost all Google search results use that name. On the other hand, I don't see a single source which uses the previous title "Clem Grogan", so I don't think reverting is a good idea. Fuortu (talk) 11:43, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for responding. You seem to be more familiar with this issue than I had guessed, so I won't persist with asking you to reopen it. Yes, Talk:Ed "Too Tall" Jones is an interesting one – but he's not a criminal. My informal impression is that lots of criminals have nicknames that newspapers use in a similar fashion, but we tend not to use that sort of quoted nickname format on pages about criminals. —BarrelProof (talk) 16:19, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, Fuortu. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Evening Dispensary For Working Women and Girls
Hi I recently moved a page that was called originally RingoMad67/stub to a page that i created called Evening Dispensary For Working Women and Girls and you then moved it back to RingoMad97/stup then back again to the new page. phosphorus
Thank you so much for working on really important elements, especially since they really do feel scary to you! (First Na and then P? I take my hat off! What shall we have after this – Au?) Would you mind if I helped add some stuff re chemistry? (I was planning to take silicon first in the second row, but this is fine too.)
I would really recommend Greenwood and Earnshaw, once again – you know you've picked an important element when they devote a 74-page chapter to it! ^_^ Oh, and can I add your name to the members list at WP:ELEM? (Or you could do it yourself if you prefer.) Double sharp (talk) 15:16, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
- Phosphorus has always fascinated me since my childhood. Maybe it's because it glows in the dark. That's why I chose phosphorus. It will take considerable amount of time to get this article to good article status. If you improve the article by adding stuff, I would greatly appreciate it. I'll add my name to the list of active participants myself, thanks. Sodium article has more sources than phosphorus even though sodium is much smaller compared to phosphorus. Phosphorus has lots of paragraphs which are completely unsourced, so it needs lots of sources to become a good article. Yeah, I know, referencing is not the only thing that needs to be improved. :) Fuortu (talk) 16:27, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

- Do you mind if I work in your sandbox? Double sharp (talk) 14:58, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
I'm currently looking at nitrogen (link is to my sandbox) as a study for phosphorus (one row further down in the periodic table and so different due to the existence of radial nodes in the 3p orbitals). It's not anywhere near complete yet in the sandbox but I have planned it out offline so it should be finished soon. Though I would appreciate some comments on the existing sections; already I think I might be scaring everyone away with the chemistry section... Double sharp (talk) 15:47, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
- Okay, from now on, I'll be focusing on making phosphorus a good article. I am thinking about getting sodium to featured article status after phosphorus becomes a good article. Fuortu (talk) 21:00, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
