I have a number of off-Wiki commitments at present, in particular several publications and research projects I am working on in connection with my interest in modern British railway tickets. I will still be checking Wikipedia daily and monitoring my Watchlist and talk page. I hope to resume more regular activity later this year.

Phone number for public phone box[edit]

Hi, Hassocks5489.

I was pleased to see your photo of the K6 phone booth outside St. Mary's in Shoreham. Would you happen to have a phone number for it (if it indeed remains a public phone box with a number)? I am setting up an Easter Treasure Hunt remotely, using Google Earth, and would very much like to enable a small boy to cause the phone to ring. Bungaroosh[edit]

So you are Rob Fraser? You know Neil England. The article has a lot of inaccurate statements. Trains only arrived in 1841 so there were no railway sleeper to use, will you agree to a moderation based on fact? I have asked the head of Sussex IHBC to moderate. It would look much better if we worked together?

Hi, firstly I apologise for inappropriate comments.

I actually have retired to Japan so writing in UK time makes me a late nighter and perhaps a little too cranky!

I am asking three eminent persons to comment on the esteem Neil England is held in, in West Sussex and his reputation as the seminal expert on Bungaroosh. 1. Head of the IHBC West Sussex Area, 2. Curator of the Royal Pavilion and one other to be confirmed.

I am new at Wikipedia and after my newbie introduction I do not intend carrying on! Neil England has recently given a two and a half hour lecture at Kind Building Specialist on Bungaroosh, at which the IHBC attented, in the references under Bungaroosh he is the author of the PDF and other bits, ( under Regency Town house) could we use this as bonafide's?

The main problem is Rob Fraser was not an expert in this, we believe he has passed away. The hundreds of people who interacted with him when he was a planning officer know he was no building engineering or methods expert. Surely you want all want Wikipedia to be accurate?

The most important reason to take down the "did you know" comment about hosepipe and destroying buildings in Brighton is simple.

There has never been a collapse of a bungaroosh building ever.

The mix is lime concrete so like the Pantheon in Rome is gets harder and harder every year.

This fun fact is causing millions of pounds in insurance costs as the awful building insurers are quoting it, when asked by small flat owners why is it so high? So unusually Wikipedia is actually hurting people and given the hard times felt by all right now surely this should be mitigated as much as possible?

Researching dates of death[edit]

Hello,

Thanks for your offer of help looking up potential dates of death. I'm in the process of writing an article on Kirkby ski slope, which was a dry ski slope built in the suburbs of Liverpool during the mid-1970s. The slope never opened, and was demolished without ever being used as it was built incorrectly and after a long investigation three people involved in the project were put on trial and jailed for corruption.

The three people I'm curious to know if are still alive are:

Dave Tempest
Eric Spencer Stevenson
George Leatherbarrow

The only description of their ages I've found is from The Times, April 1978: "They are George Leatherbarrow, aged 57, the builder, of Croft Drive East, Caldy, Wirral; Eric Spencer Stevenson, aged 51, the architect, of Neston Road. Ness, Wirral; David Tempest, aged 56, of Deerbolt Lane, Kirkby"

I did find a death notice for a George Leatherbarrow in the Lancashire Telegraph on 10/01/2024, but the ages don't add up based on The Times entry, so I guess that's not him.

Hi Hassocks, I've been thinking of restarting WikiProject Brighton and would appreciate your help as you were a previous member and have a lot more experience on Wikipedia than I do. I'm currently thinking of creating a wholly new WikiProject titled WikiProject Brighton & Hove so we can start afresh without disturbance from previously created subpages. Brighton Aquarium[edit]

I've added what I can about the Florida rooms and also added a bit about Missie and Silver being released.
