Nice work[edit]

Hi there. I am also a PR pro and a regular COI contributor here, as well as a volunteer. In fact, if you would like to volunteer here as well, I'd invite you to join me in writing on the [history of public relations.

I thought I would let you know User:Beagel pointed out how helpful your contributions were here. I was very surprised to see a disclosed BrightLine participant from Bell Pottinger. It's great to see things turn around like that.

Cheers. CorporateM (Talk) 20:49, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard[edit]

I posted a reply at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard to your post there. -- Jreferee (talk) 15:41, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It seems I owe you an apology, because the Somalia Report was less reliable than I originally believed. Sometimes it takes a lot of involvement from editors before we can properly get a grasp of the situation. One of our criterion for reliability is the quality of the content itself and when a specific source is an outlier that conflicts factually with other more neutral sources, we use good judgement. The current article looks "ok". He does have his fair share of critics and I haven't seen any sources covering his side of the story, so I wouldn't expect the article to be something he necessarily agrees with. CorporateM (Talk) 16:16, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Other's posts[edit]

Please do not delete other's posts as you did here. It looks like it was a mistake, but please try to be more careful. -- Jreferee (talk) 11:24, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A couple questions:

  • Do you have an image of Bryden you would be willing to donate under a Creative Commons license for his article?
  • Do you have any additional, credible, independent, secondary sources that are missing?

CorporateM (Talk) 18:30, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi CorporateM – apologies for the delayed reply. I'll see what I can do about an image, and in answer to your second question, no I'm afraid I don't have any further sources. I should let you know actually that I've sent two documents to Wikimedia to clear up a couple of things: one is a letter from the UN Department of Political Affairs confirming that he was not dismissed from his role as SEMG Coordinator, and the other is a copy of his wife's passport that confirms she is French, not Somali.
I'll get back to you re an image. Thanks. HOgilvy (talk) 09:30, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Palringo functionality description requires expansion[edit]

Just letting you know that I placed {{expand section}} at Palringo § Functionality. I strongly believe that articles about software should focus their attention on software itself, and your version of this article, although admittedly superior to preceding text, lacks quite a bit of information in this regard. Provided that Palringo Limited is your client, I suppose you may have enough time and sources at hand to perform this task better then anyone else. P.S.: please, ping me if you decide to reply. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talktrack) 13:40, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Explaining[edit]

I patrolled your page. I went through the enormously-backlogged list of newly-created pages and confirmed that your page was okay: not spam, not an attack page, not a copyright violation, not any of the other reasons for which I would delete someone's page without asking. Then I clicked "patrolled" to remove it from the list of "pages that have not yet been patrolled", and moved on to the next entry. That's all. DS (talk) 14:03, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks DS. Any pointers on who else might be willing to take a look at it for NPOV etc? HOgilvy (talk) 16:30, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Quality of referencing[edit]

I note your COI and your client list. Your quality of referencing is lacking when you descend to regurgitated press releases and PR pieces. They devalue your client, the articles, and Wikipedia. Please keep your standards substantially higher. Not every client merits an article here. We deprecate editing for a fee the more when the references are poor and when we perceive WP:BOMBARD to have been used. It calls your entire contributions record into question. Fiddle Faddle 19:02, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

My stance on professional editing[edit]

I Just want you to know that I have absolutely no objection to professional editing. I view good quality edits for pay as ones which raise the overall standard. You have the potential to be excellent, and I hope you are in all you do. As you achieve excellence you are in a great position to guide the... less good ones... away, if you get my drift.

Other Wikipedians object like crazy to the very concept. They have as much right to as I have the right to see the value in the role. Fiddle Faddle 16:31, 21 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Timtrent: Thank you very much for this, good to know. Some are resolutely opposed it's true and it's easy to see why, but it doesn't have to be a painful process! HOgilvy (talk) 17:10, 21 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Graham Wellesley[edit]

Henry,

Pardon my long delay in reviewing your draft—my interest in Mr. Wellesley comes mainly from the peerage side, so the financial material is a bit out of my comfort zone. As far as I can determine (assuming the WSJ article, etc. has been accurately reproduced), the article as you've written it is an accurate summary of the sources. (There's an occasional inference, like his military service coming after college, but no extraordinary guesswork.) I would suggest some slight modification to what appears to be the main point of contention, the circumstances under which he left IFX. This article refers to a "boardroom falling-out"; I think "stood down" is a little too anodyne a term under those circumstances. That said, I don't think the sourcing exists to completely or impartially describe the events leading up to that, so I think stating that he and Naldini departed (I realize Naldini retained a board seat, at least initially) after a "disagreement" or "conflict" is the best we can do to cover the affair.

On the peerage side, I have to note that most of the articles (except McCrone's piece) got it wrong: Wellesley is a descendant of the 1st Duke of Wellington's brother, not the Duke himself. There are some little formatting tweaks I can make when the article goes to mainspace, and I can probably find the Gazetting of his cavalry service. Other than the IFX departure issue, my (admittedly inexpert) eye can't find any problems that would block a move to mainspace. Choess (talk) 17:27, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
