Your GA nomination of Anastasia

The article Anastasia you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Anastasia for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Squeamish Ossifrage (talk) 22:18, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Northern Kazakhstan part of Russia?

With reference to this article, please be careful. Having lived in Kazakhstan, I can tell you that calling Northern Kazakhstan "Russia" is as much of a Faux pas as describing Denmark as "a southern province of Sweden". In normal circumstances, it would be amusing, but given the current stuff with Russia/Ukraine, it is a very sensitive issue, which you may unfortunately hear more of in the coming decade. Valenciano (talk) 01:57, 10 January 2015 (UTC)

Valenciano, thank you very much for your correction. I did not write that Kazakhstan was part of Russia intentionally; since the source was an article in The Moscow Times I assumed it was part of Russia. Tusind tak igen. :) Jonas Vinther (speak to me!) 02:02, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
I know. You just made an honest mistake, I'm just giving you friendly advice, since I've made similar mistakes myself in Kazakhstan, Sweden and Finland. Trust me, politics in Nordic countries are sweetness and light compared to the former USSR. ;) Valenciano (talk) 02:07, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
I'll take your word for it. See you around. :) Jonas Vinther (speak to me!) 02:10, 10 January 2015 (UTC)

Emotional blackmail

Hi. You tagged the above article as not being neutral and directed the editors to the talk page. There is no new information in talk. Much of the discussion there surrounds copy that is no longer in the article. The article still needs work for sure. Can you summarize your dispute? 192.136.235.164 (talk) 05:52, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

Yes, I'd be happy to do that once I'm home. Jonas Vinther (speak to me!) 13:03, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
Thanks! 192.136.235.164 (talk) 15:56, 19 January 2015 (UTC)≠
It's done, 192.136.235.164. Jonas Vinther (speak to me!) 20:46, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
Agreed. I'll fix it in th next day or so. The style of writing in the whole article needs work. The whole is written from a victims POV. Thanks.192.136.235.164 (talk) 00:26, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

Your GA review of James Balfour (died 1845)

Hi Jonas

Thanks for your review of James Balfour (died 1845), at Talk:James_Balfour_(died_1845)/GA1#GA_Review.

I have responded in detail to your concerns, at Talk:James Balfour (died 1845)/GA1#Reply_to_review. Please would you be kind enough to either reply to my responses ... or, if you prefer to not be involved any further, to let me know? Thanks! --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 12:35, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

BrownHairedGirl, thanks for coming directly to my talk page. Looking back at the review and the points I made, I agree it's not my proudest review. Regarding my involvement, I think the article could benefit more by a new review by a new editor. Best of luck. Jonas Vinther (speak to me!) 16:41, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
OK, I have tagged the article for GA2.
I know that my reply to your review was quite direct, but I feel it was justified. I hope that my response may be useful to you in improving any future GAs you do, not least since it appears that English may not be your first language. In particular, I suggest that before dismissing the work of other editors as "unprofessional", you think very carefully about whether your review meets professional standards.
Thanks again for your reply.
Best wishes, --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 17:01, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Adolf Hitler's adjutants

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Adolf Hitler's adjutants you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of MisterBee1966 -- MisterBee1966 (talk) 11:01, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Jonas, it looks like the article is actually a list and will therefore fail Wikipedia:Good article criteria#What cannot be a good article? You may want to submit the list at WP:MHACR first. Cheers MisterBee1966 (talk) 14:36, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
MisterBee1966, I think you're right. I will certainly do that. Would you be so kind to review as a FL-candidate? Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 14:44, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
You may want to look at some of the other comments I had left at Talk:Adolf Hitler's adjutants/GA1 before moving forward. I believe, not fully sure, that some of the images cannot be used on lists, check WP:NFLISTS. Cheers MisterBee1966 (talk) 15:28, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Okay, thanks, I'll be sure to double-check the images. Cheers Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 16:12, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Adolf Hitler's adjutants

The article Adolf Hitler's adjutants you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Adolf Hitler's adjutants for reasons why the nomination failed. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of MisterBee1966 -- MisterBee1966 (talk) 15:01, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Jonas, now that the "adjutants" are listed in sections, the men should either be listed alphabetically in each section or by the years each one started in service to that position to Hitler (in each section). Kierzek (talk) 13:55, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
You're right. Since this Wikipedia, I think alpha-order would be most appropriate. Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 15:16, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
It's done. Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 17:43, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
Look at it again. Is your intent to do it by the first letter of the first name or the first letter of the last name? Kierzek (talk) 20:40, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
Ehm... I listed them alphabetically based on the first letter of their first name. Does it matter? Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 22:13, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
It was not clear; if that is the way, then the first two under army adjutants needs fixing. Kierzek (talk) 14:30, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
Okay, now I'm embarrassed! Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 14:50, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
Am I a hero for uploading a picture of Albrecht? So be it :) Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 17:45, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
Nice find, can it be added to his main article page under fair use?? If so, great. Kierzek (talk) 17:48, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
As I wrote on the file itself, it's uploaded for use in both the sub-section of the List of Adolf Hitler's adjutants and his main article, so yes! Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 17:52, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
I believe Heinrich Borgmann, should be added now to the adjutant list. Kierzek (talk) 16:42, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
I agree. I'm doing some work-related crap right now, but give me a few hours and I will get right to it. Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 17:03, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

Your comment on my talk page

Dear Jonas, the comment was not intended as an insult, I therefore ask you to refrain from making such assumptions. If you felt insulted, I ask for your apology. Cheers MisterBee1966 (talk) 11:40, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

On a side note, I personally consider it bad practice to revamp an article in a sandbox. Sandboxing makes sense when creating an article from scratch. Articles which have a long history on Wiki, and especially those which have an active editing history, such as the MP 40 article, are better reworked in the main article space. You can signal your intend to rework sections of the article by using the {{Under construction}} template. Cheers MisterBee1966 (talk) 11:54, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

Non-free images

Non-free images are not permitted in list articles. Could you please go through List of Adolf Hitler's personal staff and remove all the non-free images? Sorry, -- Diannaa (talk) 22:54, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Yes, of course. Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 23:03, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
It's done, but the article looks rather horrible in my opinion now! Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 23:19, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
I know, right? See List of Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves recipients (1943) for example. Thanks for doing this. -- Diannaa (talk) 01:02, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
Yes, that is a good one to follow; it does need re-organizing. Kierzek (talk) 02:46, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
Agreed. Will allow myself to be inspired and improve the list today or tomorrow. Cheers, Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 08:53, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Adolf Hitler's 50th birthday

Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Calvin999 -- Calvin999 (talk) 11:01, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Hello. Do you need any help with this? I've had 7 lists successfully promoted at FLC. I saw this failed last time, so of you need any assistance, then let me know.  — ₳aron 11:30, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Oh man, that would be perfect. I've promoted many articles to GA-status, but this is my first take on a list so absolutely, would very much appreciate some help. Knock yourself out. :) Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 11:32, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
Yeah this is a FLC because of the table rather than a GAN. What is it that you think needs working on it? I have a few things I know I would do if it were me.  — ₳aron 11:43, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
I say be bold and edit away. If I stumble across something I disagree on I'll ping you or take it to the talk page. Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 11:44, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
Okay cool. I'll get to it at some point this week.  — ₳aron 11:48, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
