Misunderstanding
There is a misunderstanding on why I blanked out pages. The blank out on Joseph Shelton was because those claims were unfounded - I know, I wrote them. I deleted them before the article could be deleted for misinformation. As for Adamc714, that is my old account.STLisbetterthanChicago (talk) 08:51, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- Oh. I'll take you at your word, and remove the warning I gave you then. I recommend not blanking the page, but redirecting it to your new account, and providing an edit summary rather than leaving the edit summary blank. Killiondude (talk) 08:55, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks!STLisbetterthanChicago (talk) 09:01, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- STLisbetterthanChicago, you used your User:Adamc714 account tonight at AFC to recreate the Joseph Shelton article after it was deleted. That is considered Sock puppetry, you know. JGHowes talk 09:32, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Immense number of changes
It would be inane and unrealistic for anyone not to appreciate the efforts you are clearly making to improve Wikipedia. However, the frequency of your edits indicates, to me at least, and only in theory, possibly insufficient consideration for the articles you change. Please, when updating articles, or reverting changes, please do so in a NPOV way and justifying your changes. Thanks for your contributions. 81.98.250.180 (talk) 00:49, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Other stuff
Thanks for your changes on my contrib on the Hillsong United (Band) page. You're right that in that case the YouTube song links were redundant. In some cases, though, the musician's "channel" may not contain the songs since the musician may not actually hold the rights to those songs. :-( In which case I try to find if the copyright holder has uploaded songs to YT separately. I'd love to see alot of the older song videos by artists from the 80s and 90s uploaded by their copyright owners. Sad that none of the Gaither or Marantha or Integrity songs have been legally uploaded. Thanks for all your efforts here! RichLindvall (talk) 18:04, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Nugget market logo.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Nugget market logo.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 06:30, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Rollback
Hi, I've granted your request for rollback. Before you use it, however, I'd ask that you be sure you've read the policy on rollback and that you understand that it is for obvious vandalism only. Misuse of the tool may lead to revocation of privileges without warning.
Since you are going to be using huggle, it's especially important that you be careful as it is very, very easy to make mistakes when working at high speed, but don't panic if you make a small mistake every now and then- we all do. If you have any questions about rollback or use of huggle, feel free to reply to this message here or on my talk page.

I guess anons from the 75. and 76. range just don't like Unca Arcayne. Thanks for the fix. Maybe they will calm down during the block. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 05:04, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. Yeah, that was weird. They had some sort of vendetta against you. Killiondude (talk) 05:05, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Frankly, it is not a big deal to me, but can you explain why a simple redirect page offends you so much? The Wikipedia has thousands of redirect pages with alternate or variant forms of names and words, including many that are non-existent or erroneous. This one is neither non-existent nor erroneous. It is a bona fide variant form of the name Naomi (and apparently also of Naamah). Pasquale (talk) 21:32, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

24.78.233.129's edits in Modchip
Thanks for reverting 24.78.233.129's edits in Modchip. I am actually glad I'm not the only one to notice it, and you were very forgiving with only a level-two warning on his talk page he very obviously doesn't read. Today was actually the fourth time he added his links to the page. And with today's seven edits (to add it to any paragraph he can find an edit button for) I am inclined to call it vandalism by now. The next time he pulls such a stunt, I will call for someone to swing the ban hammer. FreddyTalk 02:36, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, s/he was being very obstinate about making sure his/her link was all over the page. They were being very annoying. I would've kept on them about spamming that page but shortly after I reverted the edits for the second time, I had to get off wiki. But no problem for helping fight vandalism. The testicle thing
You can indeed tag something for speedy deletion if it's already at Articles/images/miscellany/whatever for deletion if the speedy criterion is valid. I thought that was truly a vandalism redirect, so I tagged it. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP) 00:55, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- Oh okay. I think its just vandalism too. I placed a PROD flag on it, and somebody removed it and said to put it up for RFD. So I did so. Thanks for clearing that up though. -Killiondude (talk) 01:01, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
f you believe an article is "a total lie", find some sources to back you up! And don't just erase content, fix it
WHY WOULD I NEED TO DISPROVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS, WHEN THE ENTIRE PAGE IS A PIECE OF ARMENIAN PROPAGANDA WITHOUT A SINGLE SHRED OF OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE????? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.248.86.183 (talk) 08:40, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- It gives a source for some of the info. If you believe it was poorly written, and/or biased you should have found (perhaps better) sources and re-written the page. You have now been blocked by an admin for "disruptive editing". Next time, you shouldn't just keep deleting sections of pages but instead be bold and change what you think is wrong with them. - Killiondude (talk) 08:46, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Davis, CA edits
Eh, can't you guys just be chill for once and let something go? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Topothemarnintoye (talk • contribs) 06:03, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
- (dryly): Let what go where?
- I'm gonna assume you're a high school student in Davis, from what I found on Google about that name you wanted posted. Assuming that, you should be pretty smart because they have a good school system, and because you figured out how to do several things on wikipedia. You're smart enough to know that it wouldn't be good practice to let some things "slide". I'm not trying to be rude or obnoxious about it. This is actually supposed to be an encyclopedia. That name wouldn't be in Encarta, for example. Killiondude (talk) 06:12, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
well, think of it as getting a head start, because in a few years, that name will be significant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Topothemarnintoye (talk • contribs) 06:21, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
- Sweet. I'm from Woodland just to let you know. That's why I keep an eye out for the Davis page. Killiondude (talk) 06:38, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

my bad Topothemarnintoye (talk) 06:47, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, it'd get deleted. The only scenario it'd be maybe okay in is if it'd be put in a section in either Davis High or Woodland High's (Woodland High doesn't have a page by the way) page, about a "Rivalry". Even then it's iffy. But hey, I'm gonna post a "welcome" template on your talk page, it'll help you get started with anything to do with wikipedia. You can always ask me too if you'd like. I don't know the answer to every question though, because I've only been on here since like June or something. Killiondude (talk) 06:49, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well, somebody welcomed you before me. Check out what all the link are for (you can skim thru a lot of those pages to get the gist). Killiondude (talk) 06:54, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
aight, also, how much can you get away with before you get banned? and if you do get banned, can you still use wikipedia and just not edit it?Topothemarnintoye (talk) 01:34, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- There is a difference between a ban and a block. You'll be blocked if you just vandalize things repeatedly. You might get 5-7 chances of vandalism before you get blocked. But don't vandalize! "Use your powers for good, not evil." If you're blocked (or even banned) you can still read wikipedia, you just can't edit it. -Killiondude (talk) 06:18, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

- I just think the term "boner" doesn't need to be in the article. Its sort of lewd to say in an encyclopedia in my opinion, and it sort of constitutes as vandalism. - Killiondude (talk) 07:27, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Regarding Richard Finch (musician) --- as mentioned, I am his manager/publicist and I am trying to keep up with this additional piece of webbing on his behalf. I really don't have time to learn all of the in's and out's of Wikipedia (it's a very complicated site to use). In addition to Mr. Casey's site, I also removed troubling edits made by 'lamthefurey' which referred to Mr. Finch's sexual orientation (which was not as the writer alleged to)....... and I discovered a past one (removed by someone else) with this individual inferring that Mr. Finch is a pedophile. This is very dangerous language and damaging to my client, not to mention hurtful to his children and family if they were to read it, and I would like to have the IP information for our attorney to track this individual down (if at all possible) --- or if you have that information on file, to supply it to us for him. I would also (if possible) like to close this site down to any additional input from outside sources. I am sure you can appreciate that those with any celebrity or accomplishments of note are prime targets for this sort of thing. Please advise via a message if this is possible to do. There are also requests for cited information to validate portions of information on Mr. Finch's site. The business separation between my client and Mr. Casey was not amicable, therefore there has been little written on Mr. Finch to which I can cite. Validation is on his produced music, but those obviously are not in print to refer to a specific code. We are currently working on his autobiography, which should be out sometime in 2009 --- but for the moment, the verifiable references are via Mr. Finch solely. I have referred to his official web site for content validation for the moment. Please advise if this presents a problem. I am also happy to put Wikipedia in touch with Mr. Finch personally should additional validation be required. We just don't want to have to be faced with issues of content removal every time we log into his page. Many thanks for your time. LoniRR (talk) 19:21, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- I understand your concern. I myself am not an administrator of Wikipedia. They know a lot more, and are just more advanced users of Wikipedia in general. I can clear up a few things for you though (as I am not "clueless" as to how things work). One of the core principles of Wikipedia is the availability for anybody to edit it. This being said, the edits you are labeling as "dangerous" are considered vandalism. We try to keep vandalism under control, and we block IP addresses and registered users if they are consistently vandalizing things. I also think that anyone who visits Wikipedia has the understanding that it's content should be taken with a grain of salt (since anybody can edit it, it can obviously be erroneous). I'm not trying to belittle your concerns, but I think that you should understand that these sorts of edits happen a lot (not that it is acceptable, but its just a reality). Pages that consistently get vandalized are protected by admins, but viewing these articles' edit histories specifically, it doesn't look like an admin would consider it (because of the relatively few vandalism edits). As to the sourcing of material, it is preferred that you use third party sources. If none are available, its acceptable for sources from the musicians' websites, etc. If you have any concerns you can ask me or any administrator. Some reading you could look at as to Wikipedia policy would be Biographies of Living People Help; that page is directed towards those who are personally affected by articles on Wikipedia, such as your case. Hope I helped! - Killiondude (talk) 22:00, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi, my first article was deleted i just want to know what is wrong with the article or anything i can do so that it can be posted? I wish i could edit the content if there is anything wrong with it i really love to use the title. thanks.
Frozenicecubes (talk) 07:33, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- See this article that tells you what you can do now that your page has been deleted. The reason your article was deleted was because it wasn't notable as far as we could tell. If perhaps there are third party sources that have articles about your group, then perhaps those could show that it is a notable group. Some examples include newspaper (print or online) write ups about your group, magazine articles about your group, etc. If you see the WP:NOTABLE page, it can tell you what you need to show that something is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia.
Don't get discouraged by the deletion though! Your contribution to wikipedia is greatly appreciated, and we'd like you to stay and help around here. I'll post a "Welcome" sign on your talk page that will give you some helpful links explaining more about what goes on around here. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. - Hi again, so meaning if i can present to you some of our articles in newspaper print and online there is a possibility that the article can be posted?
- here are some proof that the article is worthy inclusion in Wikipedia.

- Hey I forgot to respond. Sorry its a few days later. I looked at those sources, but it doesn't really show that its notable... You should read that notable page. If you still feel that it is worthy to be in wikipedia, you should probably ask an administrator and they would be able to give you a definitive answer. 71.242.162.4 changes to Poodle
Hi, someone (71.242.162.4) has made a bunch of little, peculiar changes to the article Poodle and I was wondering how "reverts" are done, or do I have to go in and edit each one? Thanks if you can help me.
Oh, the changes are like misspelling the word February. Also, Poodles are in Group 9 (companion dogs) not 1; the class is called "Brood Bitch", not "Brood". That's what I mean by little changes. Nuisance.--Hafwyn (talk) 22:25, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

wiki page deleted for unknown reasons?
Hi. I recently created a wiki page and it was accepted into the wikipedia search. However I have recently checked with the search this morning and it is not there. I have not been sent any messages for reasons why the page was deleted and as such am not sure why it has been deleted?? Please could someone shed some light on what was wrong with the page, or the person who chose to delete the page????? Thanks!! ToddyRy (talk) 23:11, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- Your contribution list doesn't show that you created a page. Maybe you created it without being logged in? Or before you created an account? If so, it will probably be attributed to the IP address you were using when you created it. If I could see what page you created I could tell you more about why it is no longer here. It could have been speedily deleted for any number of reasons, but you would have been warned about it. I need a bit more info. Do you know the article title or perhaps your IP address you were using? Killiondude (talk) 23:18, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Cheers Killiondude! I had already created an account and had saved the page because the page search was successful for many days thereafter from submitting it, until this morning. I thought it was a bit strange for the page not there anymore because I haven't received any guidelines as to why. The article title was 'Dudley Quinlivan'. I'm not quite sure of the IP address though..Any information would be greatly appreciated as I'm new to this and still getting the hang of everything :) Thanks. ToddyRy (talk) 23:49, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- Oh. I remember seeing that title. I found this on the deletion log: "02:07, November 25, 2008 The JPS (Talk | contribs) deleted "Dudley Quinlivan" (A7 (bio): No indication that the article may meet guidelines for inclusion)." I may have actually tagged that one for deletion, but I can't find it in my contributions. See Wikipedia: Why was my page deleted?. In this case, it was deleted because it was a biography that didn't meet criteria for notability. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and as such they try to keep only notable content. That is, they don't want an article for every single person who has ever lived. Take a lot at the last link I put in: "notability" to see what the criteria is for a page to be included about a person. If you think that "Dudley Quinlivan" is notable enough, then you should recreate the page, including third party references that show why they are notable. Whew. That was a long shpeel. If you have any more questions, just ask me. Killiondude (talk) 00:09, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
