[edit]Final Warning
[edit]Do NOT remove the declines on Draft:Karrot. It is extremely disruptive. It is evident you want to try and hide them. That will not avail you. If you do that again, I will nominate the page for deletion. Consider this your final warning in this regard. JavaHurricane 08:45, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

Robert McClenon (talk) 19:18, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Disclose your employment, now
[edit]Hello Kwlee121. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Kwlee121. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Kwlee121|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Ian.thomson (talk) 06:11, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
- Working for a marketing firm hired by Karrot is still paid editing and needs disclosure. Lying about it already has me inclined to block you.
- If your next action is to do anything but disclose your employment, I will block you for undisclosed paid editing (submitting the evidence to paid-en-wp@wikipedia.org. Ian.thomson (talk) 06:11, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
Hi thanks for the guidance. I just wanted to clarify that I'm not affiliated with Karrot. Neither am I paid by Karrot or have any financial stakes. I'm writing this article for extra credit for my English journalism class. I admit that my article was poorly written (I benchmarked wrong Wiki articles on peer companies, which had been already reported). If I were professional, my execution probably would have been better with a tighter timeline (I've been working on this article for 2 months by now, which I guess is not professionally acceptable). Sorry for my mistakes. I will start from scratch and actively ask feedback from the teahouse community. I'm getting used to the Wiki tools and will not make the same mistake of working on rejected versions.

[edit]Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}}
at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:
- Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
- State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
- Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:
I politely request unblocking because I'm not a paid-contributor (it's my extra credit assignment for English journalism class; if I were professional, I probably would have done a better job with a tighter timeline). I admit that my article on Karrot was poorly written and probably not aligned to Wiki's neutrality principles. My first mistake was that I benchmarked wrong Wiki articles which had marketing overtones. My second mistake was poor version management (I kept editing on the rejected version due to unfamiliarity) I admit my mistakes, and I will fix this first by actively asking the teahouse community, second by starting from scratch from a neutral perspective (I'm quite excited about the company so my view was biased), and third by having peer reviews from my class. Now I clearly understand Wiki's terms of use. Give me a second chance to be a valuable member of Wikipedia, and I consider having one article published as my first step. Thank you for your time.
Decline reason:
I don't have the evidence that the other two users on this page have, and just by looking at your edits I don't believe you. Until you are forthcoming with us, there is no pathway to being unblocked for you. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:48, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
