Regarding your use of Mount Sinai hospital website as a source
[edit]Hey Leonard Finger. Thanks for your attempts to improve the encyclopaedia. Although it seems your intentions were good, the source you have been using recently doesn't really suit what is laid out as a good, reliable source at WP:MEDRS. You may wish to read this guideline before using the source again. In general, hospital websites are considered poor sources. Kind regards, feel free to contact me with any quesitons. —Cyclonenim (talk · contribs · email) 23:27, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info. It's the URAC accreditation I was hoping to access... I was getting that from mountsinai.org. I will change the way I cite it to be clearer. Leonard Finger (talk) 16:25, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Further to Cyclonenim's message, I think you should avoid using the Mount Sinai website altogether. We try to source medical information as closely as possible to peer-reviewed academic sources. Please review WP:MEDRS, which is very clear on this.
When linking to a Pubmed abstract, all you need to type is PMID and the identifier. For instance, PMID 12345678. Wikipedia automatically turns it into a link to Entrez. No need for URLs or anything. On the MEDRS page you can also see tips on how to generate references automatically. Something well worth looking at.
I have removed most of the links you have added. Please let me know whether anything is unclear. JFW | T@lk 21:42, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
File source problem with File:SusanWilsonSolovic.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:SusanWilsonSolovic.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:11, 22 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 14:11, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Speedy deletion nomination of Annapoorna Kini
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Annapoorna Kini, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. -- RoySmith (talk) 01:34, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
