Argentina (CAPIF)
Hi,
got a question (or looking for advice would be more precise i guess?)
as Argentina (capif) is no longer searchable, but some stuff is findable on archives (e.g. wayback), should i bother adding archives? And if yes, could it be possible to add archive-url parameter like we added for some other country (i don't remember which one was it.. portugal? greece?)
Would be grateful for any insight, thank you! Kleool (talk) 17:47, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
- update - i searched more into it, and seems that most probably archived one's have already been added via cite web. So i guess my question kinda becomes redundant.. just felt that randomly removing the question would be kinda rude, so.. uhm.. have a nice morning/day/evening/night? - @Kleool: Thanks, have fun. --Muhandes (talk) 06:05, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
Request
Hi!
If/When you have time, could you please do this (if possible):
1. Would it be possible to exclude Finland from Category:Certification Table Entry usages of salesamount without salesref ? Because Finland's case is special, when salesamount is input, template generates salesref (which matches certref) so it's not manually input, and just clogs up the tracking category
2. As you were part of cleanup for Category:Singlechart usages for Germany (when Germany was still the "old" code and offiziellecharts.de was Germany2 or 3). Do you by any chance know if cleanup project like this had been made for Albums chart? (going through salesamount w/o salesref category i noticed that obsolute category usage still exists) If there is none, would it be possible to make for Germany, Germany2 and Germany3, as the only valid one currently is supposed to be Germany4 (and GermanyComp)? Kleool (talk) 07:10, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- update for #2 (because i always find something only after i write to you u.u ) - found it. the #1 still valid, thank you! Kleool (talk) 07:13, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Kleool: It seems like we have something in common, I also very often send a message and then I remember something else I need to add. I usually just rewrite the message quickly so no-one notices .... sneaky.
- Re: Finland: Done. Oddly enough, I noticed this yesterday and was planning to fix it. --Muhandes (talk) 11:06, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
why did you undo my edit
i believe my edit was true and an actual cause due to eye infection and other problems. please to elaborate on your wish to undo the edit.

Back to Bedlam
Hi, the InfoDisc site informs that the album Back to Bedlam was certified Diamond in France, and not only Gold how you put in this edition: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Back_to_Bedlam&diff=1035421915&oldid=1032197016. Because of this, I have a doubt: is InfoDisc a reliable source, or not? LuanCampSouza93 (talk) 23:45, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
- @LuanCampSouza93: My mistake, thanks for pointing it out. I corrected it with proper source. In general, I think InfoDisc was/is considered reliable about certifications but their sales were/are their own estimate so not reliable. I am not sure about the latter. However, certifications from 1994 onwards are available from the Wayback Machine so there is no need to use InfoDisc usually. --Muhandes (talk) 07:09, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

Kind Request
Kindly help on updating the page of National Institute of Agricultural Marketing page in Wikipedia page as this page is not at all updated as a kind request. Boobruh007 (talk) 12:10, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Boobruh007: I'll have a look and do some cleanup, but there is little I can do without independent reliable sources. --Muhandes (talk) 12:16, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Boobruh007: I apologize, but as I expected, there was very little I could do without independent reliable sources. If you have any suggestions, feel free to make them at the article's talk page. --Muhandes (talk) 12:34, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
Overdue barnstar
A quick scan of your User and Talk pages suggest that you have never received a barnstar, which is a clear oversight.
The Working Man's Barnstar | |
Muhandes, your work keeps popping up on my watchlist, even though I have tried to reduce the number of articles I watch. Seemingly indefatiguable, you are prowling the pages for errors of usage and verifiability on sales certifications and chart positions. Also, you keep our music templates current, which is no easy job. Thanks for all of your hard work! — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 10:37, 1 August 2021 (UTC) |
- @JohnFromPinckney: I received a few, but perhaps not lately. It always feels good to know that my work is appreciated by other editors. Thank you! --Muhandes (talk) 10:55, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

- Better go back to it then :) --Muhandes (talk) 12:37, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

Sales in certification sources
Hi I see that you recently removed sales on several articles that I created that had Peruvian certifications. I wanted to let you know that I undid your edits for most because the sales amount was already in the certification source. If I have to use the certification source as the sales source that's fine I don't mind doing that but please read the certification source before removing the sales. I promise I didn't purposely not use the source for the sales, I just didn't think I had to add it a second time since it was already on the table being used for the certification itself. I already put the sales amount back using the certification source and will find the sales sources for the other articles that don't have them an I will add those too. FanDePopLatino (talk) 09:00, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- @FanDePopLatino: Thanks for letting me know. I apologize that we can't read every source. We are cleaning up 3517 pages which used
|salesamount=
without|salesref=
, surely you can understand why we cannot read each and every source. It is a compromise, but we must resort to putting the burden on the editor adding the number. Also, I don't think IFPI is proper as the organization, use the local organization if you know it and you are sure they are the source of the certification. Also, you would want to remove the footnote template if it is not used. --Muhandes (talk) 09:21, 8 August 2021 (UTC)- @Muhandes: No problem. Now as far as the organizations for certifications, Wikipedia really lacks listing American organizations with the only ones listed being for Mexico, United States, Brazil, Uruguay, Canada, and Argentina. Other are listed like Venezuela and Colombia but they don't auto-populate like the others. There's over 30 countries in the American continent but not all of them have had organizations so countries like Perú and Chile used to certify directly with IFPI but now they do have their own organizations and IFPI themselves have them listed on their official website as you can see here. I think we should work on adding the other organizations that way it is easier to add certifications for those countries. FanDePopLatino (talk) 09:53, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- @FanDePopLatino: I agree we lack articles. If you look it up, BEA, ZPAV and RIT are articles I wrote. If you wish, we can cooperate and write such articles for other countries, I personally lack the language skills to write them. We can then work on automating. I am not aware of IFPI doing direct certifications other than for GCC, I suppose you have a reliable source for that? --Muhandes (talk) 10:02, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Muhandes: Sure we can cooperate on creating articles. If language is something that gets in the way, do you want to take the two that are in English which are JAMMS for Jamaica and COSCAP for Barbados and then I will take the Hispanic countries and create those with the help of the other wiki editors that are part of the Latin Music Project. By the way, what I meant about IFPI certifying is that in some countries in America the certification would come from an organization by the name "IFPI (Country's Name)". One example is "IFPI Chile" which their website is still up but now that they have streaming certifications too they are posted by Profovi and you can see that at the bottom of their page you will always find a link back to ifpichile.cl no matter what. FanDePopLatino (talk) 10:51, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- @FanDePopLatino: OK, I understand. You mean like IFPI Danmark and IFPI Greece. There is nothing saying we can't create articles for those as well. I will look into writing articles for JAMMS and COSCAP, if I can find secondary sources. This will probably need to wait for next weekend or later. --Muhandes (talk) 10:55, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Muhandes: Yes that's what I mean. I will look into getting the other ones taken care of. No rush on any of this for anyone. Thanks! FanDePopLatino (talk) 11:06, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

edit removal
Hey, you recently reverted some edits i'd done, and told me to re-add them with reliable sources. I did that, but you removed them all again, and I wanted to ask why? As far as I know, when I added sources for my edits, I was contributing to these pages. 2601:646:8C02:F8C0:D97A:8C26:9D7D:E48A (talk) 19:18, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

France
Hi, as i'm seeing your going through the salesamount category for France - an fyi if you didn't know - there is big problem with lots of certifications 2009-2014 not showing up on snepmusique website, and have to be referenced with archive from when snep was still disqueenfrance (or had the old type "by year/type/cert" database) . If you don't want to/have time to search archives for those which you don't see in snep website, leave them? I'll go through the archives for the category entries after i finish with Denmark. Thank you! Kleool (talk) 18:34, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Kleool: I have no problem moving on to another country if you prefer to do France yourself. --Muhandes (talk) 23:22, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Kleool: By the way, with infodisc being down, maybe I should implement automatic access to the old www.snepmusique.com archives? You are correct of course and many certifications are missing, here is another. -Muhandes (talk) 07:13, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Muhandes: Infodisc doesn't show up down for me? But of replacing infodisc w archives from x year to y year (what were your potential year period?) - i'm not sure everything is archived? We could i guess? but would there be some division parameter by which it'd be decided whether to use new snep (because there ARE certifications there and not sure if they match the "old") or archives? Kleool (talk) 07:59, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Kleool: Regarding InfoDisc, I made this query two months ago and no one answered, so I presumed there is a real problem. Now that you mention it, I see that the site is still being archived so it must be alive. I guess I am the only one seeing it down, perhaps it is location based. I will need to find a way around this, maybe through some proxy.
- Regarding the archives, I was thinking of making it explicit, e.g.,
|recent=archives
. However, InfoDisc is not really down perhaps it is not needed? I would still find it preferable to InfoDisc, wouldn't you? --Muhandes (talk) 08:08, 26 July 2021 (UTC)- @Muhandes: In theory infodisc should be used only for pre-1994 (how it's written in the Template document page). I guess
|recent=false
could be pointing to snep archives starting 1994 (until 2012?) by default (if there is archive for the specific year/cert type). I predict a lot of checks after, though, to check if everything is it should be. Kleool (talk) 08:19, 26 July 2021 (UTC)- @Kleool: I can certainly implement it this way, but it seems a little too elaborate. Some archives seem to be missing so it would need to be very specific. Why not have two options
|recent=InfoDisc
(which will replace|recent=false
) and|recent=archive
? By the way, I've had it in my mind to replace|recent=
with|source=
. --Muhandes (talk) 10:54, 26 July 2021 (UTC)- @Muhandes: Renaming to
|source=
actually sounds like a pretty good idea to me. If we're deciding to go through with this, it might be a good idea to post the proposition on Template talk page, maybe ping recent people like Richard, Harout (maybe + someone else?) about their throughts. (P.S. gonna start a list of archive links anyways, gonna add it what i have before i leave for vacation) Kleool (talk) 13:13, 26 July 2021 (UTC) - Muhandes Compiled the links for archives 1994-Nov 2013 here (if some cert category isn't listed, then SNEP had no entries listed (was not achieved))Kleool (talk) 18:16, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- Another update (wanted to let you know) - seems that current snep database seems to missing most of it's 2014 cert's, so to find those even need to search, for example, by artist (in archive) under http://www.snepmusique.com/les-disques-dor/ . My view on this whole situation is basically - snep database is quite a mess Kleool (talk) 12:41, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

- @Kleool: Done. Use
|source=archive
for archived results, use|source=infodisc
for InfoDisc as source. 2014 certs not included, I'm not sure how you want to do those. --Muhandes (talk) 08:38, 8 August 2021 (UTC)- @Muhandes: if France has a working
|archive-url=
functinality how Portugal has, then it would be possible to just manually add the archive link for specific cases Kleool (talk) 08:42, 8 August 2021 (UTC)- @Kleool: I can add that, but what would be the URL? Can you give me an example of how it would be used? --Muhandes (talk) 08:43, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Muhandes: to be honest, there wouldn't be 1 single format, as there were different ways how they were saved. Sometimes whole page would be saved like gold albums like this or search results for specific artist like for Maroon 5 like this . I guess could also add these without
|archive-url=
, just adding manually through|certref=
. Which we can leave like this.. to be honest i'm not sure which would be better option Kleool (talk) 08:52, 8 August 2021 (UTC)- @Kleool: If there is no standard way than the better option is to use
|certref=

- @Muhandes: while i was going though France's entries, i noticed that there is a better source for 2013 (a full year, instead of partial like we/you changed to now) - and the files are still available live on snep - singles and albums. I think they would be better than partial one's we added (if you could change the links it would be super) and should still be used only when
|source=archive
is used.Kleool (talk) 11:11, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

Butter's RIAJ certifications
This single was cert plat by the RIAJ in July for crossing 250k physical sales. Its Gold certification was announced today for passing 100k downloads. How would we reconcile that in the table? An editor changed the template like this to acc for it but I don't think that's correct because the ref now shows the 100k cert while the table shows it at 250k. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 23:24, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Carlobunnie: That's simple, both certifications are correct. It was actually certified three times: Gold for downloads (digital), Platinum for physical sales and another Gold for streaming. Unlike most countries, Japan certifies each of them separately. I see this version already fixed it. --Muhandes (talk) 07:04, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Muhandes: lol I know that. I'm the one who added those certifications to the table. I was just asking if that editor changing the phys cert to display the Digi cert in the same template was correct (not if the certs were correct, ik they were). I was going to fix it (ie. separate them) earlier myself, but wanted to be 100% sure before doing anything so I asked you first. I haven't been back to the page so I didn't know the same editor fixed it to display the digi cert as a separate entry. Thanks for replying though! -- Carlobunnie (talk) 07:13, 20 August 2021 (UTC)

Another question
Hi, me again. Didn't want to create another section for my question since the one above is recent so I hope you don't mind me doing it like this. If a track from an album receives a certification but doesn't have its own article, is it okay to add the cert to the certifications table w a note specifying it's for that track, or should it only be mentioned in the prose if anything? I did that here and here, but stated I wasn't sure doing so was correct, that way anyone could undo if it's not. No one's changed it yet, but I'd like to know so I don't repeat in future if it is in fact wrong. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 09:26, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Carlobunnie: I think certifications for tracks should not appear on the same table as certifications for the album. If there is only one certification for the track, I would list it in the prose. If there are many certifications for a single, I would create a separate table for it and use a proper
|caption=
in {{certification Table Top}}. --Muhandes (talk) 10:51, 24 August 2021 (UTC)- @Muhandes: so far it's just the one certification for both tracks so I'll remove from the table+put it in the prose instead. Thank you! -- Carlobunnie (talk) 10:55, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
Da Bomb edit
Hi there, thank you for reverting the edit on Da Bomb in good faith, it's perfectly fine. :-) I realise it would need a citation but I just wanted to share this with you hence the reason I added the info.
I think this is very important about the track with Snoop Dogg that didn't make the album however there's not any coverage on this so it's a bit of a catch 22 as it came to be a notable part of the album later.
As explained in the note on the article, this is the reason why they went into the studio and made "I'm Real" (which was also a chart single) and is also the reason why the Snoop Dogg sample is in that track alongside some of the lyrics from the original transcended into the one that was re-worked and made the album.
As you can see from the Youtube video the song exists, it also has an intro from DJ Nabs (who is on the album) talking about this so it's 100% a thing and a very important fact in regards to the album which should be noted and is missing.
How do you think the best way to cover this in the article would be? Obviously seeing the video and hearing the song, there's no doubt it's a thing lol but how can we include this info the best as I do feel it's a really important fact about this album which isn't really noted.
Here is the video here if you would like to see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Et4whVocyTA&t=38s
Hope this helps and let me know what you suggest :-)
UFC Cub Beavis (talk) 15:57, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- @UFC Cub Beavis: I see your point, and this may be an important fact that should be added. However, it is not rare that I want to add facts I know to be true, but lack of reliable sources prevents it. Per WP:RSPYT, and other guidelines quoted there, YouTube is very rarely considered a reliable source. I don't know if this isn't a copyright violation, so even linking there may be problematic. Do you know anything else about the source of this video? How did it resurface now? --Muhandes (talk) 17:53, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- Muhandes - Hi there, I don't this is the problem. It's one of those things due to the album being released in 94 and this only surfacing recently media haven't picked up on it, which is surprising but as you can see it's a really insightful aspect of the album, specially with that track.
It is just like you say lack of reliable source which makes it difficult. I get it with Wikipedia's outlines but seeing DJ Nabs talking about it, I just don't know the best way to go around it?
It's also here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rS6RG6fq7Eg
Maybe we should leave it until we see something at some point?

- @UFC Beavis: You have three options. 1) Strengthen the source you have (the YouTube video), by finding (from reliable sources) where it came from, how it resurfaced etc. 2) Find other sources mentioning the same fact. 3) Don't add the fact. --Muhandes (talk) 10:55, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

Question about Italy Cite Certification
Hello! Wanted to ask you first, maybe you know something about this - i had noticed this before, but now i'm actually starting to wonder. For Italy certifications, sometimes i see a note "sales since 2009"(or 2010) (sometimes also seperate table entry for sales, supposedly before the 2009) like in Umbrella (song). Why such distinction, and is it really such that Italy certification since 2009 does not count sales before 2009? (which sounds highly suspicious to me). Kleool (talk) 10:20, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
- Pinging Lorenzoact who made this edit. I think there might be a source somewhere for this. As far as I recall FIMI changed the data supplier in 2009 from Nielsen to GfK, and the data on older recordings was not supplied so they started counting afresh. --Muhandes (talk) 10:32, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
- Pinging Dhoffryn too, I see they also add that note. --Muhandes (talk) 15:34, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Well basically what you said Muhandes, that was my impression. By some archives like this [1] Stee888 (in direct connection with FIMI via email) states that sales start in 2009. And certification start in 2010 by certification date. If I understood it right. FIMI page states in certification section that collaboration with GfK starts since january 2009, so GfK detects sales since then. There are some sales reports from before via Musica e Dischi for an example that Michael Buble - Call me irresonsible sold 160,000 in 2007 but through FIMI page in 2013 it obtained just a gold status which was 30,000. If it included previous sales certification would have been higher. Dhoffryn (talk) 15:20, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- thank you Muhandes and Dhoffryn both for information! Much appreciated Kleool (talk) 08:50, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

El Dorado (Shakira)
Hello, good afternoon I saw a while ago that you reversed my edition where it puts the sales figures in Peru of El Dorado (Shakira's Album), Peru certifies x5 platinum 30,000 sales for which I ask that you can put the sales figure. Thanks. The link of the sales number to give certification in Peru is this: https://web.archive.org/web/20140328112251/http://ifpi.org/content/library/international-award-levels.pdf AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 19:55, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
- @AlexanderShakifan29: I am not an expert on the Peruvian market, but the source you provided is from 2013, eight years ago, and typically IFPI sources for thresholds are only considered to be applicable for at most one year. I also note that according to the recently written Unión Peruana de Productores Fonográficos, there is no evidence that these thresholds were active later than 2013. Having said that, if you find a source which is relevant for 2017, use
|salesref=
to add it. --Muhandes (talk) 09:19, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
DYK for Unión Peruana de Productores Fonográficos
On 3 September 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Unión Peruana de Productores Fonográficos, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that Gian Marco's Días Nuevos, the best-selling album of 2011 in Perú, was the first quintuple platinum awarded by Unión Peruana de Productores Fonográficos? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Unión Peruana de Productores Fonográficos. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Unión Peruana de Productores Fonográficos), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Advertisement as source
Hi Muhandes I see that you recently removed some certifications from the article Arrasando because the source was an advertisement on Billboard Magazine. I was wondering if that's not allowed then shouldn't we also remove the source for certifications in Perú and Ecuador for the album Paulina since that is also a paid advertisement? I just didn't remove it since I saw you didn't but thought that you might have missed it. Please let me know if it can be used or not. FanDePopLatino (talk) 04:36, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
- @FanDePopLatino: I don't see how advertisements could be considered independent, reliable and secondary sources. They are definitely primary and not independent. I missed the one in Paulina, now fixed. --Muhandes (talk) 08:09, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

Sir, as you removed many pages of Rajakiya Engineering Colleges, I request you to look at all the pages under https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Dr._A.P.J._Abdul_Kalam_Technical_University and do remaining clean up too. Thanks. 2409:4063:4EA2:4330:F3A0:ECF5:E74B:304B (talk)
- Hi anonymous. Since you refuse to open an account I'm not sure what you are talking about. I make many thousands of edits, and some of them may have had to do with Rajakiya Engineering Colleges, though I don't recall them specifically. Anyway, this seems to fall under the Education in India WikiProject, which I decided long time ago not to be involved with. If you want some clean up to be done you can ask them. I'll just add that the motivation to help someone who doesn't have the decency to open an account and take responsibility for their own edits is substantially lower. --Muhandes (talk) 08:07, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
Regarding the edit on AIIMS Deoghar
May I know why you think that's not appropriate ? It's all over the news that AIIMS Deoghar odp was inaugurated few weeks ago. Flashthomsom (talk) 08:38, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Flashthomsom: This is what the edit summary is for. As you can see in my edit, I gave the reasoning: "Rv COI promotional and trivial edits". So the reason is that a WP:COI editor made promotional edits. On the other hand your edit is simply disruptive. Not only did you not supply any reason for reverting, you are going against WP:BRD which says that after someone else reverts, you DO NOT REVERT BACK. You discuss. --Muhandes (talk) 08:46, 19 September 2021 (UTC)

- @Toiwriter: You don't need to know anything about creating templates in order to add sources to articles. What you need to do is to learn how to cite sources. Lucky for you there is a help file for beginners about this subject. If you are interested in adding sources to existing articles, I suggest you use it to familiarize yourself with the process. As for Danish Maniyar, I see an article was created in the past and was deleted by consensus, failing to demonstrate notability. I do not want to discourage you, but language skills are required. Judging from the two sentences you wrote above, you may want to contribute to the Wikipedia of your language. --Muhandes (talk) 18:14, 25 September 2021 (UTC)

MJ Cole birthdate
Hi Muhandes, I hope you are well Sorry to bother you but I saw you recently removed the MJ Cole birthdate mention. I modified (2 or 3 times now) with the correct one and other people keep changing it but putting a wrong one. I am part of the MJ Cole discord community and have been present on his Twitch streams for months now. He told us several times that his birthdate was wrong on Wikipedia. The correct date (he gave us) is 24th September 1973. I offered to modify it on his behalf but then someone else modified it on a "hearsay" and you deleted completly now. As you have been doing that for years, please let me know what you think should be done ;-) I just need to know what to tell MJ Cole next time I speak to him on Discord or Twitch.
Tnank you and have a great day Philippe — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pantoniotti (talk • contribs) 13:52, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Pantoniotti: I deleted the date because there were several parties warring over it and none of these parties was providing any reliable sources. In fact, one party claimed 1983 is the correct year, and cited Twitch as the source. I think both Discord and Twitch will be considered unreliable at this point. If he had it in his website I support we could use it. --Muhandes (talk) 17:04, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
Silk Sonic genre
Hi, sorry for the trouble and forgive the English, but I'm Italian.
I wanted to ask you something, wouldn't it be more appropriate to leave the R&B genre instead of the contemporary? Their music clearly recalls the sounds of those years (70s), and their aim is not to do contemporary R&B ....
It wasn't a complaint about your modification, God forbid, but it was just to be as accurate as possible.
Let me know! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 0gaetan0 (talk • contribs) 20:50, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
- @0gaetan0: There are several reason why I reverted your edit. First, the infobox is not supposed to confer any new information, just summarize the article. in the article, the term R&B links to Contemporary R&B, so I made sure the infobox does the same. This is a technicality. Second, I never heard this duo they created, and even if I did, I would never trust my own judgement. An encyclopedia is built on secondary sources. If you have reliable secondary sources which discuss their style, it would be fitting to create a "Style" section, discuss their style, and after this, correct the infobox. I hope this helps. --Muhandes (talk) 17:20, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

Good afternoon, I totally ask you please, if you see something missing on a page like "Faithful Dog", add an update, a user returned what he reverted because according to you you put "no sources" when there were sources. I am going to thank you very much for reviewing the source well and if something is missing please add it. AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 02:41, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
- @AlexanderShakifan29: First, I had to waste 15 minutes just to look up what page you are talking about since there is no Faithful Dog page. I finally found Perro Fiel, and I presume you are referring to this revert. Second, please note that you were misusing the {{Certification Table Entry}} template. Per that template's documentation, the purpose of
|salesamount=
is tooverride sales amount with a sales figure from a reliable source, when not based on the certification
(my emphasis). I presume what you wanted to do is actually to update the certification itself, see here how this is done. If you wanted to update the amount without changing the certificatoin, you need to provide a source with|salesref=
, or the edit will be reverted. Happy editing.--Muhandes (talk) 07:58, 10 October 2021 (UTC)

Regarding omission of Reference in Institutes of Eminence taken from IoE official web site
Hi Muhandes, Today you corrected Institutes of Eminence page by giving me a good faith tag [1]. The reference I added is a press note, directly from IoE official website [1] If you check the IoE website (https://ioe.ugc.ac.in/) you can get it directly from its home page. I sincerely edited the page but the tag you entered was totally wrong. Rahulsoman (talk) 13:59, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

- @Rahulsoman: I removed the source because I believe it does not improve the article. First, the table column where you added the source is the "Status" column for private universities. The column already included a source which is a) an official source from the ministry of education and b) from January 2021. How does adding another source from 2018 help the reader know the status? It does not contribute any new information, nor does it help add any validity to existing information. If at all, it confuses the reader by showing a source which is less up to date and because, from some reason, it does not apply to public institutes. Second, the press release you added is already used in the article at three different places, it is currently numbered [8]. How does adding it a second time (as [18]), as if it is a different source, and doing so in a place where it doesn't contribute any new information, improve the article? I used the good faith tag because I believe you did not notice these facts, and were, in good faith, trying to improve the article. However, as I explained above, I believe this addition does not improve the article. --Muhandes (talk) 14:46, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Hello Sir , Hope you are doing fine. Actually I am here as I recently declined a Afc Draft which you have accepted but I dont see the issues that I have raised are met. Can you look into it. - @Iflaq: Thanks for reaching back, it is always good to see a junior willing to learn. The short answer is WP:DRAFTOBJECT. For the longer answer, you can see in the page history that the article was not an AfC article at all, it was draftified by mistake by another junior editor. You can see the discussion at the article's talk page and also some discussion here. The bottom line is, an article shouldn't be draftified without discussion if the editor who wrote it is likely to object (as every regular editor probably will). --Muhandes (talk) 08:15, 3 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi there, why did you revert my edit in this article?
I'm only starting to contribute to Wiki so might not know all the details. But I added the source. Psfinaki (talk) 16:08, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Psfinaki: In such cases you would want to look at the edit summary. Let me quote it for you:
Reverted good faith edits by Psfinaki (talk): WP:SONGCOVER
. The first part says that I am not assuming you meant anything disruptive, to the contrary, you made an honest attempt to improve the article. However, the reason is also stated, namely WP:SONGCOVER which states:Only cover versions/renditions important enough to have gained attention in their own right should be added to song articles
. In other words, a source showing that a cover version exists is not enough. You need sources to show that the cover version is noteworthy in its own right. I hope this clarify things. In My Lifetime, Vol. 1
Ok, this is the issue I have. Why can't I use Discogs? People have used it before and its not like Discogs is ever really wrong? And why can't I add executive producers. Executive producers have always been added to album pages. So taking down my citations is foolish. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WPUNJ (talk • contribs) 18:10, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- @WPUNJ: I'm a bit surprised that you ask since I left you all the details at your own talk page, but here goes again. You cannot use discogs because the community has decided that it is not a reliable source, see WP:RSPSS. You cannot add executive producers because the community has decided that this field should not include them, see WP:NOEXEC. These rules represent the WP:CONSENSUS, so we follow them, it's as simple as that. --Muhandes (talk) 18:37, 9 November 2021 (UTC)

- @WPUNJ: Please review the talk page guidelines. There is no need to start a new section every time you answer, answers should be indented to the right, Also, you need to sign your messages.
- As for the answer to your question, I think it is quite obvious: another editor was not aware of these guidelines and made an error. You, on the other hand, are now fully aware of these guidelines, so you will obviously correct this error whenever you see it. --Muhandes (talk) 21:06, 9 November 2021 (UTC)

Certification for Miénteme in the US
Hello There, I saw that my edit for Riaa latin certification has been removed. I know that Riaa has its own list where certified singles are listed and maybe the song is not listed there yet, but here is an article from the Official Sony Music Latin label where it says how the song has reached 2x platinum certification in US. Herese the link for that article: https://www.sonymusiclatin.com/tini-se-divierte-con-el-desamor-en-su-sencillo-bar-junto-a-l-gante/
Honestly think that certification should be written there because it is also a reliable and official source.
Yiwistar (talk) 12:57, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Yiwistar: Last time I checked, RIAA is the certifying authority for sales in the US. Sony is a record label, they are not a certifying authority. If Sony says am album was certified and RIAA says it wasn't, RIAA is correct and Sony is wrong. This just demonstrates that a label can never be trusted when they claim a certification. Contrary to what you suggest, they are not reliable when it comes to their own sales, and they are most certainly are not the official source for certifications. --Muhandes (talk) 13:05, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
Izvestia
Hi, most of the edits citing it as a source were reverted back when they were added years ago. Either way, a random document appearing out of nowhere with no association with the Russian music industry association or even any label's website and containing blatant errors (4x Platinum = 80k -> 5x Platinum 120k), if not flat out made up certifications (Bronze awards) can reasonably be deemed fake. Furthermore, this article explains the streaming era's thresholds in Russia (as adopted by the major labels, which are the only ones assigning awards currently, once again there's no mention of that on their national association's website) that in no ways correspond to those in the document. ×°˜`°×ηαη¢у×°˜`°× 16:12, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
- I also have to add: do you have any proof of that document ever appearing on Izvestia? All signs point to it being a fake, since there's no sign of the publication ever releasing that document itself. ×°˜`°×ηαη¢у×°˜`°× 16:15, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

an excusejustification to remove it. Your evaluation of the situation is good enough for me. I removed it from the 9 articles on which it existed. --Muhandes (talk) 20:20, 22 November 2021 (UTC)- Thank you! ×°˜`°×ηαη¢у×°˜`°× 20:31, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

Request for chart template modification for Miley Cyrus' Album "Can't Be Tamed"
Hello can you please fix and remodify the European Albums chart template in the chart template section below from Miley Cyrus' Album Can't Be Tamed from this European Top 100 Albums to this European Albums (Billboard) it is reliable okay. 49.150.6.8 (talk) 29 November 2021
Not sure why you need me to do that rather than doing it yourself, the page isn't protected. Anyway,Done. In the future please use {{Edit semi-protected}} on the relevant talk page. --Muhandes (talk) 08:27, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Revert of my Dean Martin discography edits
I don't understand why this was reverted. The archive links I added allowed anyone to see the entire Holiday 100 list regardless of whether they subscribed to Billboard.com or not. Now it's linked to their upgraded page, but non-subscribers can't see the list. Why did you do this? Are you planning on archiving the new pages like I did so that the entire list is visible? Nothing to this effect is mentioned in your Edit Summary. Danaphile (talk) 01:49, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Danaphile: I reverted my own revert three minutes later with an edit summary "My bad, apologies". All I can say is repeat it: "May bad, apologies". Happy editing. --Muhandes (talk) 08:05, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
About the Mainstream Rock edit
Hi there. I and some online friends have been cataloging data related to the Mainstream Rock chart, which is where I got the updated information for the top-10 hits section. I can show you a link to a spreadsheet listing said data if that counts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.244.223.139 (talk) 14:10, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
- You don't need to convince me, you need to have reliable sources in the article. I went ahead and added them. --Muhandes (talk) 17:17, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!

Thank you for organising and putting in the work to get the Billboard URLs changed in the single and album chart templates and for working out the details of the bot request. It's very much appreciated. Ss112 09:33, 13 December 2021 (UTC) |
- @Ss112: It is always nice to know one's efforts are appreciated, thanks! --Muhandes (talk) 12:24, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
The Ashoka University page is vague to say the least but all edits are being blocked. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Educationtracker (talk • contribs) 08:11, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Educationtracker: I left you some comments on your own talk page explaining the issues with your edits. Please read them first and we can discuss things at your talk page or the article's talk page. You might also want to look at the talk page guidelines. --Muhandes (talk) 08:16, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
Muhandes Yes, I have read your comments. And thank you for the talk page guidelines too. Discus at article's talk page, leaving queries there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Educationtracker (talk • contribs) 08:19, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
- I doubt it, since you are not signing your messages nor indenting them, but fine, I'll answer you there. --Muhandes (talk) 08:22, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
The page is vague, you are blocking edits. Educationtracker (talk) 08:44, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
Bless you
Muhandes, you are to be praised for your work on the Ashoka University article. I got started on it, had to take a break for a while, then, I guess, forgot about it. Possibly because I was blocking that thing out of my mind. (I even forgot about the COPYVIO stuff I needed to deal with.) Thanks for the great clean-up work you did there. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 19:37, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- @JohnFromPinckney: Nice to be appreciated. Bless you for being more patient than me with the above editor, I just couldn't work with those ridiculous accusations are thrown at me. Now that their real face was exposed I felt I could go back to it. --Muhandes (talk) 20:32, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- Brother, you showed enormous patience and professionalism in dealing with them. I was impressed. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 20:44, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
