Disambigation
[edit]Articles only use a disambiguation if it is necessary. See Wikipedia:Article titles, in particular Disambiguation and Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Naming the specific topic articles. The idea is to keep the article title as clear and simple as possible. So there is only one Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry and no need for (Malaysia) to be added as it does not make it easier to find. On the other hand Pagoh exists and a disambiguation is required for Pagoh (federal constituency) CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 23:09, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
Short descriptions
[edit]Thank you for adding Short descriptions to articles. However, many of these descriptions have been much too long – the current guidelines at WP:SDSHORT advise a limit of around 40 characters. Please read the full guidelines at WP:SDCONTENT and shorten your recent additions — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 14:35, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
- Please stop adding excessive Short descriptions — you are just adding to the chore of correcting them — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 15:01, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
Please stop repeatedly adding excessively long short descriptions. Your edits will be reverted, and please refrain from making any more edits to short descriptions before you have thoroughly reviewed guidelines at WP:SHORTDESC, especially the length requirements under WP:SDSHORT. —Liu1126 (talk)
April 2023
[edit]Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 08:58, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
Warning regarding short description editing
[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Alor Gajah (federal constituency). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Liu1126 (talk) 15:47, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
Further explanation on short descriptions
[edit]Hi, I’ve seen your new edits on pages like Bachok (federal constituency), and although I appreciate your efforts to shorten your short descriptions, they are still too long. Although there is no hard limit on the length of short descriptions, short descriptions should be “no longer than is needed to fulfill its functions effectively”, and that “longer, more specific descriptions can be less useful” (both these are quoted from WP:SDSHORT). Short descriptions are intended only to help people differentiate between similar articles when searching. They technically should not be a definition of the article (although often it comes to that) and should only contain as much information as needed to differentiate between other similar titles. The regions contained within these constituencies are too detailed and specific to be very useful for readers unacquainted with the subject (see WP:SDJARGON) and make the short description so long that they will be truncated or only partially visible in most cases anyway. Hope this helps! Liu1126 (talk) 07:33, 26 April 2023 (UTC)

Results of the 2022 Malaysian general election by parliamentary constituency and subsequent constituency page
[edit]Based on the comparison with Gazette data, the result for this page for Bachok, Tanah Merah and Pasir Puteh is not same. I think it is better to change based on what gazette said and why I am informed here is I observed that you are one of the major contributor of the election results.
