Articles for songs[edit]

Please follow Wikipedia guidelines when creating new articles, such as the ones you created for some songs. For instance, you should not include the title of the article as a top section. Please see Wikipedia:Manual of Style on how to format articles. I have changed some of them to the recommended format; please look at them and contact me in my talk pages if you have any doubt. Thanks, and welcome to Wikipedia! :-) JoaoRicardotalk 04:56, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've put the article back to a redirect, since your stub article doesn't say anything that isn't already said much more comprehensively in Beavis and Butt-head, so it would be more of a service to Wikipedia readers to point them there. Besides, Beavis doesn't have much of a life outside the Beavis and Butt-head cartoon. --Aim Here 13:38, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I only put it there because every character from Beavis and Butt-head have articles of their own. If any character, why not the titular characters?

Well there's nothing wrong, in principle, with an individual article for Beavis, if it says more about the individual character than the Beavis and Butt-head article. The main article has a fair amount to say about Beavis, though, since he's a main character, and your stub article said a lot less than the main article. From the point of view of the reader, they'd probably prefer to go to Beavis and Butt-head, hence the redirect. If you care to write an article going into more detail than the main one, then by all means write it and undo the redirects...
Oh, and in Wikipedia, you sign your name with four tilde characters (~~~~). Try not to sign MY name in future- that way we won't get each other into trouble! --Aim Here 17:35, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:TeleD.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TeleD.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:08, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Tom Morello[edit]

I see that there are/were some format issues with the Tom Morello page, but is there a reason you removed all the sources from the section about the RATM reunion show? --Onorem 10:55, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I think the overload of sources might have f**ked up the article. - Ndrly 10:58, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mrs Emery[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as Mrs Emery) are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. Your rage edit[edit]

This morning on rage (TV program) you linkified a bunch of song articles. This is usually bad practice unless you also take the time to go and disambiguate them, like Rise. — RevRagnarok Talk Contrib 13:21, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Feel free to re-submit a new version of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. JuJube 08:00, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Black Bugs[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Black Bugs, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 01:33, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of musicians who play left handed, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that List of musicians who play left handed satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of musicians who play left handed and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of List of musicians who play left handed during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Speedy deletion of Brock Baker[edit]

A tag has been placed on Brock Baker requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. chiefhuggybear (talk) 02:23, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Twofaceaeckhart.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Twofaceaeckhart.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:16, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:LedgerJoker.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:LedgerJoker.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 07:06, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with upload of File:RomeroJoker.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:RomeroJoker.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Fair use rationale for File:LedgerJoker.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:LedgerJoker.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 15:45, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:NicholsonJoker.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:NicholsonJoker.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of music videos with censored explicit content. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of music videos with censored explicit content. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Ndrly! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 942 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Self Defence Against Fresh Fruit requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.scribd.com/doc/127126223/The-Terry-Jones-Handbook-Everything-you-need-to-know-about-Terry-Jones. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 155blue (talk) 19:31, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Self Defence Against Fresh Fruit has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Completely not in the tone of the encyclopedia, and is almost an advertisement in its current state. It needs a complete rewrite in order to save it and the article is completely unsourced.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 155blue (talk) 21:59, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
