Frederick Douglass Institute moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Frederick Douglass Institute, does not have enough third-party independent sources and citations as written to show notability . It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Disambiguation link notification for October 21[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Pākehā settlers, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Māori (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:37, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

White privilege[edit]

Hi, please be aware of the ongoing discussions on the white privilege talk page and noticeboard. The page is tagged as controversial so you may wish to raise issues on the talk page, and reach a consensus, before making bold edits. In particular you recently made an edit which asserted that white privilege is a phenomenon, which is currently the subject of a live discussion. Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Frederick Douglass Institute, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:28, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. Your draft article, Draft:Beyond White Guilt[edit]

Hello, Peipsi-Pihkva. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Beyond White Guilt".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Notice

The article Brown Canadians has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

"Brown" is not a racial or ethnic group as this article suggests. South Asians and Middle Easterners/North Africans are not related. Not to mention that Middle Easterners/North Africans tend to have lighter skin. There is no scientific basis for the creation of this article and the term is not recognised by the Canadian census. We already have articles about South Asian Canadians and Middle Eastern Canadians. To merge information from both articles into this article as if they are a united racial group is incorrect and misleading. Content in this article such as the information published in the "20th century" section and "Academic research" section should be merged with the "Brown (racial classification)" article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sapah3 (talk) 09:37, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the proposed deletion tag, explaining why on Talk:Brown Canadians. Schazjmd (talk) 16:11, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Featuring your work on Wikipedia's front page: DYKs[edit]

Thank you for your recent articles, including White Polish, which I read with interest. When you create an extensive and well referenced article, you may want to have it featured on Wikipedia's main page in the Did You Know section. Articles included there will be read by thousands of our viewers. To do so, add your article to the list at T:TDYK. WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages[edit]

Thank you for your recent articles, including White Polish, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:22, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I will try to add them from now on. Thank you! Peipsi-Pihkva (talk) 10:49, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

White Irish article[edit]

Whilst I commend your additions to this article, aheads up for you. You added a line implying that White Irish people are half as likely to die as opposed to other minorities which completely misrepresents the source. The study was of Covid-19 deaths in hospitals not overall. Statistics actually show White Irish people being far more likely than any other ethnic group to die of long term health issues, a source I will add in time.
