Help with article[edit]

Hey guys! If anyone can check out my latest Wiki article. I'm still new to this so I hope its OK!Looks like its still not live? {{helpme}}

Hello! It looks good. The only concern I have is whether the subject meets Wikipedia's notability criteria. The article probably needs a little more information on why he is significant. Good work so far! If you have questions or comments, feel free to ask on my talk page or email me. sonia 20:55, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict)I take you mean the page at User:Sashamslee/JamesDillonWright? Crystal balls are rare items... It will stay where it is, there is no automatic movement of pages. When ready either move the page or request a move at WP:RM  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:06, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
(Another EC)
I agree with the above, that it might currently struggle to meet the notability requirements.
If it is an autobiography, or if you are closely associated with the subject, please be very careful - see WP:BESTCOI.
Also, please ensure that all of the facts are supported by appropriate reliable sources - this is especially important for a biography of a living person (please do read that link).
Currently, I don't see how we can verify that he was born in Phoenix, began private lessons at the age of 9, attended Collins College, relocated to Las Vegas, and currently lives and works in Italy, etc.

Thanks guys, this is awesome feedback! Oh OK this I found these on that same interview and on his website. I saw his work in the 2008 magazine on Obama....all these artists that had made iconic images of him. I found this notability requirements for artists:

The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors. The person is known for originating a significant new concept, theory or technique. The person has created, or played a major role in co-creating, a significant or well-known work, or collective body of work, that has been the subject of an independent book or feature-length film, or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews. The person's work either (a) has become a significant monument, (b) has been a substantial part of a significant exhibition, (c) has won significant critical attention, or (d) is represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums. See Wikipedia:Notability (academics) for guidelines on academics

Do you think he'd qualify under creating a significant work?

Please stick to verifiable information. You might also want to request feedback here. Best,  Chzz  ►  21:09, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Welcome and introduction[edit]

Hi, Sashamslee. This is NOT some automated's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  21:09, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Other articles[edit]

Further to our discussion, the single best bit of advice would be to work on some existing articles first - simply because conflict of interest is so very difficult. You could always come back to the draft article a bit later, when you have more editing experience.

There are so many diverse areas on Wikipedia, it depends very much on your personal tastes - some editors like to make minor fixes to articles, some write featured articles, others work 'behind the scenes' - checking new pages, deciding which articles to delete, and that sort of thing.

You might be interested in the cleanup campaign, requested articles, requests for feedback, or the huge backlog of tasks.

You could help out with peer reviews, look at the newest articles, or maybe just something random.

One of the best ways to get involved is to join some projects - you could browse them in projects.

Hopefully, this will give you some ideas.  Chzz  ►  19:19, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:ZacharyJames JeffForney Web4.jpeg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ZacharyJames JeffForney Web4.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:AlexandraStarlight.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:AlexandraStarlight.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Eeekster (talk) 09:52, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 24[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Alexandra Starlight, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Steve Edwards and The Troubadour (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Zachary James (Musician), a page you created has not been edited in at least 180 days. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace. If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. Proposed deletion of Alexandra Starlight[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Alexandra Starlight has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not a notable local band under the WP:MUSIC criteria, only released one EP and no significant tours or performances.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
