Tell you what:
[edit]Keep up the good work and you can earn rollback privileges. That means you can easily revert a lot of vandalism from a single source with one click. After that, the next step would be administratorship. A great way to earn that would be to create or greatly contribute to a featured article. That used to be a requirement and it still may be. Looking at your edit history, you are doing a terrific job. I'm genuinely impressed with your new attitude toward this site. :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 23:42, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- I second this. You are doing an awesome job. I read your RFR, and I do think that you should re-apply in a few weeks. Just make sure you take the images off your signature. Again, you are doing an awesome job. Knight-Lord of the Infernal Penguins 00:14, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- Also, if you get into the anti-vandal bit, that is my specialty, so I can help with anything pertaining to that. In the meantime, if you are not using internet explorer, WP:TW might be worth checking out. Knight-Lord of the Infernal Penguins 00:16, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
It does look nice, but images are images no matter how they are formatted, unfortunatly. Just take them off, it's not going to make a huge impact on your wiki-career. Knight-Lord of the Infernal Penguins 00:20, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I was going to say the same thing awile back, but it slipped my mind. Thank you for the nice bit of recognition. It's a pleasure to have you here. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:02, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
SPI cases
[edit]- Input on case pages must relate to the matter (sockpuppetry) at hand, rather than any wider issue of whether a user is "right". Being "right" does not excuse socking.
- Please do not add section headers. They foul up case handling.

Rollback
[edit]When my rollback was declined (three times) I had to wait a week, its not that long, try using twinkle in the meantime, it is the same as the Rollback feature, slightly slower, but trust me, use twinkle and Undo Feature, you will get approved, but when you are a former vandal, it gets a bit more difficult. Put your self in an Admins position, would you give Rollback to a former vandal who made many sockpuppet account? I am not saying that I have anything against you, just hang-on, you will get it eventually. Frozen4322 Talk Stalk 13:15, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: Barnstar
[edit]You do it by making a template. I'll explain that in just a second, so just hold on for a minute. Knight-Lord of the Infernal Penguins 15:50, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Alright. I'll use the barnstar you gave me as an example, which was this:
The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar | ||
Thank You for all your help to counter vandalism and sockpuppetry including my early self and thanks for reforming me. If it weren't for you-I wouldn't be where I am now. SchnitzelMannGreek. 23:39, 20 May 2009 (UTC) |
In wiki markup it looks like this:
You would replace with the image you wanted to use, replace "The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar" with the name of your barnstar, and then you would replace
"Thank You for all your help to counter vandalism and sockpuppetry including my early self and thanks for reforming me. If it weren't for you-I wouldn't be where I am now. <font color="#FF0000">Schnitzel</font><font color="#0000FF">MannGreek</font>. 23:39, 20 May 2009 (UTC)"
with the message you wanted to say to the editor; remember to sign afterwards. Hope this helps! Knight-Lord of the Infernal Penguins 16:00, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Assyria.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Assyria.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:06, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Dealing with vandals
[edit]That's fine. There are standard warnings you can use, starting with <articlename> or <articlename> for short, and working up to <articlename>. Level 1 warning "assumes good faith" so if it's obviously not a mistake, you can start with level 2. Look at the talk page, and if there are already warnings go to the next level - so in this case you could have used level 4, as I had already given #3. If vandalism continues after a #4 warning (allowing a minute or two for him to get it), make a report at WP:AIV - if you click "edit" beside "user-reported" on that page you will see the format to use. "Vandalism after recent final warning" is a good enough reason to give. There are other messages like uw-delete1 etc if the vandalism is deletion; more details of vandal-hunting at WP:Vandalism. This particular vandal seems to have stopped after my final warning. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 13:36, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Well actually I was just removing some pointless drivel another anonymous editor had put on the talk page (the only thing there ) and inserted a relevant Wikiproject template. I'd hardly consider that vandalism. 78.109.182.8 (talk) 15:45, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:Chou chou 1.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Chou chou 1.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Duplicate pages
[edit]Please take note that at least following pages you create already existed in Wiki:
- Nikolaus Zaya
- Sulaqa Mar Shimun
- Joseph II (Chaldean Catholic Patriach)
- Joseph III (Chaldean Catholic Patriach)
- Raphael I. Bidawid
Before to create a new page, it is necessary to to see whether someone has written a similar page (see Help:Starting a new page). These double pages shall be merged in old ones. A ntv (talk) 18:46, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- the pages you created look like to be simply a translation of some Wiki:de pages. Before to write/edit the already-existing Articles I've checked all the material on Wiki:de, taking some correct informations, rejecting some mistakes, and checking all the infos on sources. So I suggest to delete these Wiki:de duplicate pages A ntv (talk) 19:00, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Middle East
[edit]Hey, I've read your message and I appreciate you taking an interest. I would first like to point out that I did not say that Syrians are fair unlike other Arabs. I was merely emphasizing the reach and breadth of the term Arab by the fact that even though Sudanese are blacks and Syrians are somewhat fair, they are still equally Arab ("After all, the Sudanese are black, the Syrians are very fair and yet nobody is saying that they are not Arabs"). This doesn't mean that Arabs are black nor that they are white because there is no Arab race, there is only Arab culture. I know of Syrians that aren't Arab, but I was not referring to them, I myself am part Syrian Kurdish and I am fully aware that Kurds are not Arabs. However, most Syrians are Arabs, excluding, of course, groups such as Assyrians, Kurds etc. Genetics do not play that great a role in Arab identity. Arab identity is acquired by self-association as an Arab, knowledge of the language and culture and does not have much to do with descent. After all, genetically, Palestinians are closer to Greeks than to anyone else in the area, however, that does not mean that they would identify as Greek or that the Greeks would identify as Palestinian. Arabism is a cultural movement, one that has been around for millennia and Arabs are not necessarily homogeneous as far as genetics go. I hope you have a good day. Re: Friendly visit
[edit]Welcome back. It's always good to see a blocked user come back constructively. To answer your question, Wikipedia does on occasion get suicide or murder notes stuck into articles, collectively known as threats of violence. While most of the time these are clearly ridiculous, we do often take them seriously and will on occasion contact authorities to let them handle it in person. While I didn't call the police in that particular case, I have done so in the past. We very rarely notice anything happening on it from our end, but on occasion someone does get arrested for threatening to blow up their school, etc., and it's result of that. Request for Rollback
[edit]Please stop editing through the archived discussion. Your request has been declined twice now. Thank you. Syn 01:26, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hey SchnitzelMannGreek, I don't think the admins are being prejudice against you, its just that you haven't reverted vandalism too much since your last request. Now ive reviewed your editing contributions and out of 931 total edit's including deleted which is 23 you have 42 or reverts. I have reviewed through them and most are good but there are a few which are not but mistakes on your part. If you had rollback and used it on those edit's you may have gotten rollback taken away because rollback is to be used only for undeniable vandalism. Try to revert vandals properly using this. Here are some examples of what I am talking about. This how would this be vandalism or even unconstructive? This one the editor has explained in the edit summary why the information was removed and you still undid it. Or this one the editor clearly stated why that information was removed. You need to look at this and Wikipedia:Rollback feature to get a better understanding on how rollback works.

Muhammad and slavery requesting unprotection
[edit]You have edited the article by removing most of the sources and a great deal of referenced content rather than updating what has been notified for correction on the article talk page. It is time for you to unprotect as it also appears you have exploited that protection to edit war with User:SchnitzelMannGreek124.170.56.113 (talk) 01:56, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed I have removed much material. The idea behind this is the material is written by a banned user and has been constantly re-inserted by his multitude of sockpuppet accounts ( I can see 12+ since August last year). The long term consensus on this article seems to be that the material should not be there and general Wiki policy is to prevent the work of banned users being on the site. If you want to expand the article please go ahead, but reverting back to the version by a banned user just gives them the outcome they wanted in the first place. Note that the article is only semi-protected to prevent anonymous editors and newly created sock-puppet accounts from editing. I've unprotected the article but, based on past experience, the sockpuppets will be back and the article re-protected - Peripitus (Talk) 06:36, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.

[edit]I tend not to respond to general social-type calls, but hello, I'm fine. Thanks for the invitation, but I'm not much of a guestbook person either. Hersfold (t/a/c) 23:45, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi! Is this the guestbook? --PMDrive1061 (talk) 00:55, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Hey, these pages of yours are looking GOOD. I need to get off the stick and do something to my pages besides the big bouncing Wikipedia globe. :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:01, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for helping revert vandalism on Rushden Community College, your efforts are very much appreciated! ReformatMe (talk) 21:59, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Got 'im.
[edit]You handled that vandal with real aplomb. Good work in the face of an idiot like that. I've blocked him since it's apparent he's letting his monkey too near the keyboard. :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:15, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Greek propaganda - Button Mash?
[edit]Hello, did you mean to tag Greek propaganda as G7? I assume you meant to tag it as something else, and have reverted, hope that's okay with you, all the best SpitfireTally-ho! 13:44, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well, no matter, its been deleted now, I just didn't feel good about not telling you that I had removed the tag, all the best SpitfireTally-ho! 13:47, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
IT'S NOT VANDALISM.
[edit]IT'S A SPOILER WARNING. 12.73.212.93 (talk) 13:50, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit]FANS!!!! I believe that's how I met you, actually. LOL. You should see some of the old comments that were reverted in my archives. It's quite funny sometimes. And yeah, it does tell you you're doing the job right XD Inferno, Lord of Penguins 19:39, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Oh I know, believe me. Huggle may just be the most addicting thing on wikipedia. Mine isn't working atm, though. I'll get on it when it starts working. Inferno, Lord of Penguins 19:50, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit]why complain about what I said on his talk page, did you not see what he put on mine? Does he get let off his attack against me because he has an account and I am a new IP editor? 119.173.81.176 (talk) 21:02, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

- I'm tempted to remove this message from SchnitzelMannGreek's talkpage, but decided I would respond. I don't know the situation that well, but the only reason I can think of him removing a message that you left would be if your message were a personal attack. We don't tolerate personal attacks on this website. -T'Shael, Lord of the Vulcans 21:16, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi, firstly thanks for your work in speedy deletion. However, this page did not meet CSD G1 (nonsense). The page was not purely gibberish (e.g. "dsfdsfgf") and some sense could be made of it. It did how ever meet CSD A7 {non notable) and I have tagged it as such. Please review the CSD (specifically G1). Again, thank you for your new page work, if you have any questions feel free to ask me :) - Kingpin13 (talk) 21:54, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
prod vs speedy
[edit]We've got to use PROD to delete anything for a reason not specifically listed in WP:CSD. For apparent duplicates, consider also the possibility of a merge , or changing to a redirect. DGG (talk) 15:34, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Re:
[edit]The problem there is that RTV is invoked per person, not per account. It also requires the invoker to leave to project. I don't think that will work. Inferno, Lord of Penguins 02:27, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Barnstars
[edit]I've noticed as of late that you seem to be rather desperate for barntars. Please remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a social networking site with which to seek rewards. –Juliancolton | Talk 06:13, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Re: Your comment on PMDrive1061's talk page
[edit]Sysops can't hide stuff like I believe you are asking him to do. The only people that can do that are oversighters and they don't usually do it except in special circumstances. Hope this helps, T'Shael,The Vulcan Overlord 16:01, 24 June 2009 (UTC 18:30, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
I don't know what to call this post
[edit]Yes, I remember you - Because I have a photographic memory and I remember everything!! - For 1000 reverts you definitely deserve this. Thats slightly less than half the edits I've got in total (but don't tell anyone I've only got 2000 edits for 4 and a half months)

This user gave Spongefrog (or his sidekick Scribbes) a barnstar and is on a Non-Shame List. |
P.S. Don't be shy, the page got me 12 barnstars. I've got a good idea for getting you barnstars though. When you place a warning tag on a vandal, replace the image with a smiley face, put in "Congratulations!" at the start, and also place random :-)s after sentences. NOT VANDALISM
[edit]I did NOT vandalize that page. Michael Curry got fired. There is currently no head coach for the Detroit Pistons. Please revert back to my edit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.38.186.40 (talk) 18:35, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
