Welcome!

Hello, ScoobyDoo01, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome!  --h2g2bob (talk) 15:35, 8 June 2007 (UTC) A tag has been placed on Image:BeautifulLiarMaxiCover.png, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Image:BeautifulLiarMaxiCover.png is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on [[Talk:Image:BeautifulLiarMaxiCover.png]] saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. ShadowHalo 21:21, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Green Light Cap.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Green Light Cap.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:06, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Charmed multimedia image addition

[edit]

Greetings. I've removed the DVD cover you recently added to Charmed multimedia as it was recently decided that use of such images violated our fair-use policy as they function only as a "pretty picture" and don't really add to the value of the article. I'd ask that you not add such cover images to articles in the future. Thanks, and cheers. -- Huntster T@C 19:22, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, note that I've removed the Rihanna image from your userpage, as even though you modified it from the original (which I noted from here), it cannot be claimed as your own work because the original image is copyrighted. Also, fair-use images, such as this one, cannot by Wikipedia policy be used on personal Userpages. To that end, you also need to remove all the images from User:ScoobyDoo01/Images as those violate that policy as well, specifically, as specified under WP:FU#Policy #9 ("Restrictions on location"). If you have any questions, please leave me a message. -- Huntster T@C 19:33, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

Per the last few comments left for you, I've also removed the images you added to B'Day and The Dutchess. Singles covers cannot appear in articles for the album, per WP:FUC. Please see that policy for any further questions regarding non-free images. Thanks. - eo 20:07, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to upload inappropriate images, such as Charmed multimedia, to Wikipedia, you will be blocked. You've already been warned about this by myself and another. Please cease uploading these types of images. -- Huntster T@C 12:50, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Still Dirrty. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. ShadowHalo 21:07, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Private Practice pilot article

[edit]

Greetings! I noticed you were trying to add an infobox to Pilot (Private Practice episode). To properly create it, just replace "{{Infobox Private Practice episode" with "{{Infobox Television episode". It is unnecessary to create an entirely new template just for this series, when you can use a standardised infobox. If you have any questions, just ask! -- Huntster T@C 19:58, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:U+URHANDCAP.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:U+URHANDCAP.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 19:23, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I have tagged Image:Avril+Lil'mama'sGirlfriendRemix_Cap.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. BigrTex 19:24, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Articles on forthcoming singles

[edit]

Regarding your creation of various articles on forthcoming singles (e.g. Trilogy (song), Don't Stop the Music (Rihanna song)): Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Extraordinary Machine 22:11, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lyrics in articles

[edit]

Greetings; I've removed the lyrics from Sorry, Blame It on Me, which you recently added to the article. Please remember that lyrics are copyrighted, and cannot be included in an article as a whole. While fair-use allows for a minimal section of the lyrics to be published, so long as the article discusses that particular section and it isn't used simply for "colour", it is still a good idea to avoid including lyrics in articles. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Cheers! -- Huntster T@C 02:03, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Clumsy (Fergie song)

[edit]

Please do not recreate this article, as it has been deleted several times already. There is no confirmation or source that this song will be a single at this time. I'm reiterating the comments already on your Talk Page above about creating articles for songs that are unsourced and/or not released as singles. Thanks - eo 19:00, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In which me meet Addison

[edit]

AS this is an unreleased episode of a series yet to air, there is no notability to this article, and it should be removed. Even after release, single episodes do not generally merit their own article, but rather a subsection of the main page. Owain.davies 11:41, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on In Which We Meet Addison..., by Owain.davies (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because In Which We Meet Addison... fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

Single episode not notable

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting In Which We Meet Addison..., please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 17:40, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with Image:Takecont vid.jpg

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Takecont vid.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:25, 31 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Extraordinary Machine 19:25, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Takecont vid.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Takecont vid.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Thank you. Extraordinary Machine 19:25, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Firstly, please make sure that the copyright holder information you add to image description pages is accurate. For example, the MTV and Sony MusicBox websites do not own the copyright of the music videos featured on the sites. Secondly, do not edit other people's comments, e.g. by striking them through. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that recently you carried out a copy and paste page move from B'Day to B’Day. Please do not move articles by copying and pasting them because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself using the move link at the top of the page, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.

Now, regarding Suga Mama: the song was released as a single in the UK, albeit on a stricly promotional basis, so please don't remove the single infobox. Also, I've removed the second screenshot you added in accordance with Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria, which emphasises "Minimal use [of non-free media]. As little non-free content as possible is used in an article. Short rather than long video and audio excerpts are used. Multiple items are not used if one will suffice; one is used only if necessary."

If you have any questions about anything I or anyone else has told you, feel free to ask on my talk page. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 20:27, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copyrighted images on userboxes

[edit]

A non-free image was recently removed from one or more of your userboxes. Please be advised that Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Wikipedia policy does not allow templates (which includes userboxes) or user pages to contain any copyrighted content not under a free license; so, for example, claims under "fair use" are explicitly rejected. This clause is to be interpreted strictly and without exception, for legal reasons. You can research Wikipedia's non-free content policy for more details.

I hope this does not discourage you from creating more userboxes; your contributions to Wikipedia are greatly appreciated. For images and other media that are freely available for use in userpages and userboxes, check out Wikimedia Commons. Thank you. 17Drew 23:22, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

cut it out

[edit]

why do you feel it necessary to continually add falsified information in articles based on your personal preferences? The job of a wikipedian is to remain neutral and add information that is true and is fully sourced. Wikipedia is not a rumor mill. If you want to spread gossip I would suggest joining a forum or starting a website or a blog but please do not add these rumors here unless they have an official source like a news article or a press release. Image copyrights (again), Take Control

[edit]

I see that you've not replied to my messages, and instead have removed some of the templates I added to description pages for the images you uploaded and uploaded more images with inaccurate source/copyright holder information. As I've told you, the websites that host the music videos, such as MTV.com, usually do not own the copyright of the videos — the record labels usually do. If you continue to add inaccurate source/copyright holder information, you will be blocked from editing for a period.

Regarding your edits to the Take Control article: we can make a stronger claim of fair use on the screenshot I inserted (and reinserted), which illustrates the Blowup connection discussed in the text, than we can on a screenshot showing a closeup of Amerie's upper body — that's hardly representative of the video.

Again, if I haven't explained any of this clearly, feel free to ask questions on my talk page. Extraordinary Machine 15:24, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Can't_Leave_'Em_Alone_Cap.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Can't_Leave_'Em_Alone_Cap.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Fair use rationale for Image:Scoobydoo10.JPG

[edit]

Image:Scoobydoo10.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
