American Dream Meadowlands
[edit]Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to American Dream Meadowlands, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept uncited material. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. In addition, there is already mention of the kosher food hall directly above where you added a repeated mention of it.
If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 15:12, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

Michael Kenny O'Keefe
[edit]Hi - I volunteer at WP:NPP, and just had a look at your article on Michael Kenny O'Keefe - it's neutrally written, but I'm not sure the sources currently in the article (or those I could find with a Google search) would support notability via WP:GNG. Per RSP, Ballotpedia seems to be less-than-universally-regarded as RS, and the other sources cited (or that I could find) give the subject scant coverage. Is there an SNG for judges that I'm overlooking, or some other claim to GNG that I've missed? I wanted to reach out to you before nominating to AfD, but unless I can identify a clear case for notability that's the route I have to take. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 23:13, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, @Girth Summit:, thanks for reviewing the article. As for your concerns, judges on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia meet Wikipedia:Notability (people)#Politicians and judges guidelines. Please also see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject United States courts and judges#D.C. Superior Court as pointed out by @Marquardtika:, @1990'sguy: + others and there was a consensus that articles for the judges should indeed be added. I replaced the Ballotpedia source with a source from NBC and added some additional sources to the article. Please note that many publishers like the Washington Post, in articles, refer to the judge as Michael O'Keefe without his middle name, Kenny. Shemtov613 (talk) 07:47, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
- Shemtov613, OK, cool - yes, having re-read WP:NPOLITICIAN, I agree that it would cover this individual (I forgot that it covered judges as well as politicians). I've removed the tag and marked as reviewed. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 10:28, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Girth Summit: Awesome. Thank you :) Shemtov613 (talk) 15:05, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Snickers2686 and it's nice to meet you :-)

- @Snickers2686: I changed John Leonard Badalamenti from being an article to redirecting his full name to middle initial page as per WP:BLAR and WP:ATD-R. What’s your take now on it’s deletion?
Wow! You were there?! I just watched a livestream in my home in Jerusalem. It was so inspiring! Yoninah (talk) 23:37, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Yup! It was a magnificant event! The picture was taken during dancing, right after the Siyum. I'll also be attending the Dirshu siyum, God willing. Talking about Dirshu, I just created a stub. It's past 2am in Jerusalem, but when you have a chance, please help exanding the article. Thank you! Shemtov613 (talk) 00:21, 2 January 2020 (UTC)

DYK for Big Snow American Dream
[edit]On 4 January 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Big Snow American Dream, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that New Jersey's Big Snow American Dream became the first indoor ski park in North America when it opened last month? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Big Snow American Dream. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Big Snow American Dream), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Dirshu
[edit]Hi again. I wonder if you could take a picture of the big Dirshu banners hanging outside the Prudential Center when you go to the Siyum, preferably in daytime? You'll probably also have pictures inside the hall. We could use all these to illustrate the article. I'll post a picture of the Dirshu banners hanging outside Binyanei HaUma at the 2012 English-language Dirshu siyum, which I attended. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 17:39, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Not sure, though I believe that the Dirshu siyum will be at night. Will definitely be taking and uploading the pictures. Will aim to get one of the banner though I'll let you know about daylight... Btw, amazing job on the article! Shemtov613 (talk) 01:43, 8 January 2020 (UTC)

Re: List of Superior Court of the District of Columbia judges
[edit]Hi,
First off, kudos to you for all your heard work regarding the judges of the Superior Court of D.C.. I had a question about your list though, are we including former judges and/or senior judges in the list as well? Snickers2686 (talk)
- @Snickers2686: Thank you. Yes, we should definitely be adding senior judges to the list. As for former judges, I'm not so sure. I'd love to hear what other editors (@Marquardtika:) answer on the page's talk page. Shemtov613 (talk) 23:29, 15 January 2020 (UTC)
DYK for Dirshu
[edit]On 9 February 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Dirshu, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that participants in one of Dirshu's intensive study programs are tested on their knowledge of all 2,711 pages of the Talmud at the end of the seven-and-a-half-year Daf Yomi cycle? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Dirshu. - Awesome photo! I was really disappointed that it wasn't live-streamed like the MetLife event was. Hopefully something will be uploaded to YouTube afterwards, as their Paris and Manchester events were. Was it great? Best, Yoninah (talk) 00:56, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Still ongoing for another half hour. It is actually a massive event, beats the other siyum 100:1! From production, energetic speeches and concert-like music! Harav Hofstadter (in addition to the unbelievable Dirshu movement) has remodeled how a Torah event can look like! Shemtov613 (talk) 03:06, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

Babylonian Jewish Talmudist
[edit]Hi, you have been adding the short description "Babylonian Jewish Talmudist" to pages of rabbis (tannaim and amoraim) who were not Babylonian, and some of whom lived in the period of the Tannaim, where IMHO the term "Talmudist" does not apply. Could you check the biographies to make sure "Babylonian Jewish Talmudist" is accurate before adding it to more pages? Thanks! Ar2332 (talk) 18:00, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Short descriptions
[edit]Hi, I don't know much about these short descriptions, but calling a Hasidic Rebbe a "rabbi" doesn't seem complete enough. These are leaders of thousands of Hasidim. Yoninah (talk) 17:51, 1 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: There aren't any set rules for how to write the short description. It's goal (as of now) is for a brief introduction to the reader on the subject of the page. With that being said, feel free to change it to Grand Rabbi etc. Shemtov613 (talk) 18:09, 1 June 2020 (UTC)

Hello from a new NSF-funded legal research project!
[edit]Hi there,
I hope you're well - and a belated yom tov to you! My name is Scott, and I work with a project called SCALES, out of Northwestern University (https://scales-okn.org). We recently received a grant from the National Science Foundation to create a national resource for opening up access to court records and increasing the transparency of the justice system. Here's a paper we published recently in Science discussing the goals of our project, as well as a promotional video.
As it seems you are a recent contributor to the WikiProject for US courts and judges, I wanted to reach out and inquire into how the SCALES platform might assist in your writing and editing work. We have a great deal of data and metadata about judges & lawyers in the federal court system that could improve the stubs and B-/C-class articles in this space (something I'm personally excited about, since in my brief teenage Wikipedia-editing heyday I was drawn to working with stubs and new articles). And in general, I think the SCALES data could be a powerful tool for empowering citizens to understand the judiciary and its impact on the country, a priority that I imagine the Wikipedia community shares.
Let me know if you're interested in talking further and helping us understand how we can work with you; I'm happy to talk via email as well. Thanks for your time!
All best,
