You're a sysop!

Hi, SouthernNights/Archive 2, Congratulations on Becoming a Sysop

Hey there. I'm pleased to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator! You've volunteered to do housekeeping duties that normal users sadly cannot participate in. Sysops can't do a lot of stuff: They can't delete pages just like that (except patent nonsense like "aojt9085yu8;3ou"), and they can't protect pages in an edit war they are involved in. But they can delete random junk, ban anonymous vandals, delete pages listed on Votes for deletion (provided there's a consensus) for more than one week, protect pages when asked to, and keep the few protected pages that exist on Wikipedia up to date.

Almost anything you can do can be undone, but please take a look at The Administrators' how-to guide and the Administrators' reading list before you get started (although you should have read that during your candidacy ;). Take a look before experimenting with your powers. Also, please add Administrators' noticeboard to your watchlist, as there are always discussions/requests for admins there. If you have any questions drop me a message at My talk page. Have fun! =Nichalp «Talk»=

Please also add your name to WP:LA =Nichalp «Talk»= 10:12, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

Friendly Chat

How you doing? I couldn't help but to check out your user page after reading your comments on the Miguel Piñero talk page. I must admit that I am very impressed with your work on African-Americans, especialy the African-American literature. I read one of your articles and I found it very good reading. I admire the fact that you want people to know about the contributions of the African-American the same way that I want people to know about the contributions Puerto Ricans have made. Good job. Oh, by the way it wasn't my intention to block Dali because of the dispute (even though it may have seemed that way), I really thought he broke the three revert rule. It was my dumb mistake and I'm glad that he was unblocked. You're doing a great job, keep it up. Tony the Marine 06:18, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

Nomination for Admin

Thank you for your assistance on recent pages on writers William Shakespeare and Miguel Pinero. As you know, I have filed a protest against Tony The Marine. I think we need more cool and level-headed folk like you. I don't always agree with your edits, but your cool head and courtesy are what is needed. As I am relatively new here (3 mos.) I want to suggest you nominated for an adminship. How would I go about it and would you be interested? Please respond on my user discussion page and I shall follow up by whatever the process is. Iago Dali 12:51, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

Admin Nom

I have tried to nominate you, but apparently before I can put a nom on the main page this admin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:BD2412 says that you need to accept before I can put in on the nom page. I will crosspost this to his page. If for no other reason, accept this nomination for all the effort I've gone thru to try and make a nom with these non-user-friendly templates. Let me know if I need to vote again. Iago Dali 21:56, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

Clarification of procedure

Hi, this is BD2412. I'm helping Iago Dali with this process. A nomination page has been created for you at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/SouthernNights. That is where you need to accept and answer the RfA questions. Once that is done, you or Iago Dali must post the following line of text on the main RfA page:

{{Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/SouthernNights}}
Let me know if you have any questions! By the way, I'm actually not an admin, just an old hand here who occasionally lightens the admin load. Cheers!  BD2412 talk 22:16, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

Admin Vote (PRueda29)

Vote Cast... Good Luck! PRueda29 03:32, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

Hey No Problem, you deserve the title, good luck!

admin vote

Where do I know you from? What articles have you done that I would know of? I've never even heard of you before. --Dangerous-Boy 07:25, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

RFA

Thanks for calling my attention to your nomination. BTW, if you contact any other users please just inform them of your nomination without any hint of soliciting their vote. That approach could sour some voters who aren't familiar with your other contributions. Best wishes, --hydnjo talk 12:21, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

Also I have added a notice of your nomination here and on your user page. Feel free to remove them if you want. ;-) --hydnjo talk 12:39, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
Nah, don't worry about it, nominees are just expected to know. Others have been far more blatant including reciprocal quid pro quo solicitations. At least you included ...not in a million years. ;-) --hydnjo talk 12:56, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

A Southern lit article that is dreadful at present

Incidentally, although your hands are full now with Uncle Tom's Cabin, I gather, if you want to see a crying shame some time, look at John Crowe Ransom. Ransom is...troublesome...but he's far too important and good a poet to have an article like that. (Also, it has been that way for two years.) Geogre 13:39, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

Admin - a question

Congratulations on your nomination. However, before I throw in my vote, I want to be sure if you are up to being an admin. From what I saw with other users, an admin is immediately thrusted into the internal politics of Wikipedia, with some admins actually leaving because of the strain. Hence, if you could convince me that you are up to it, then I would not hesitate to support your candidacy (you accepted nomination, which implies that you are willing to face the great responsibilities of being an admin. But as I said before, I want to make sure you are up to it). I am not questioning your ability, but the last thing I want is for a good Wikipedian like yourself to break down under the pressure and leave Wikipedia. As a side note, someone asked if I were interested in being an admin, though because of what I described above, I am unsure about it. Pentawing 19:16, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

According to our benevolent dictator's view, being an admin is ...no big deal. So, I suggest you don't make it such a big deal. A responsible and articulate and committed and level-headed and sincere contributor should be measured by his meticulous (almost) past performance and not by anyone's crystal ball wondering if he can deal with the pressure of being an admin without a breakdown. Geesh, if you don't want to vote for SouthernNights then don't. Also, don't try to ask anyone to predict the future on any grounds other than past performance. --hydnjo talk 20:42, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
I apologize for not acting sooner, but I have supported your admin candidacy. Good luck! Pentawing 02:15, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

I apologize

...if I have done you an injustice by fighting against Boothy443, however, I am convinced that his edits are out of malice towards admins. and Wikipedians in general - whom I don't personally care for, but I don't go around trying to halt other people's success. I will delete my post if you wish. Molotov (talk) 18:12, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

Help

Thanks, Tony said he wd help. I am just so paranoid now. What will I be accused of next? The Lindbergh kidnapping? The Titanic? 9/11? Now I will have to waste a week or more rechecking all the old edits I did, or those by this or any other imposters, For all I know there could be dozens! Iago Dali 19:20, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

SouthernNights, I know you're not an admin yet, but I believe I am being cyberstalked. See below. You've assisted me before and I do not mean to impose, but I am thoroughly disgusted. An imposter seems to be trashingmy name. If this is one, how many more exist? I am tired of all the abuse and hypocrisy that I am getting at Wiki. Could you please contact the powers that be to find this villain and stop them? I swear, the next time I'm accused of something, I will blow a gasket! Please see if you can expedite things with the 2 admins below. I want to scream! Thanks, Iago Dali 19:07, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

Imposter and fake accounts

I reported this to 2 admins whio are familiar with my work. Please floolow up and ban this imposter. The 2 admins are

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Marine_69-71

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:V._Molotov

I find this disgusting. Surely this user can be banned, that fake acct closed, and some censure applied to prevent it. He even copied the admins barnstar I got. Iago Dali 18:59, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

Report of Hacking

crosspost at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Marine_69-71

As I am not well connected at Wiki, and you are the only admin I know of, I wonder if you could help me? I believe my account has been hacked into, or some shenanigans have been going on. I have been trying to tighten and condense many literary articles and sometimes have argued with others. I believe one of the people who argued with me must be trying to take vengeance by hacking into my account. I recently edited the entry on Knut Hamsun- a Nobel winner, and my work was undone ithout any explanation. In fact on the talk page http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Knut_Hamsun&action=history for history there is this entry

(cur) (last) 17:42, 25 October 2005 Iago DaIi m (on second thought, photo is relevant to KH history)

This was not me, but someone screwing around. The edit just under it was my last and on my contributions page the edit above is not listed as TOP. This is obviously someone trying to play games and perhaps using some hacking skills to screw with my edits. How do I report this? And how do I prevent this from occurring again? It's bad enough hacking goes on in the real world, but here? My edits and tightening make enough emnemies, I do not need one of those people recklessly getting me in trouble. Please advise and reply on my talk page. Thanks. Iago Dali 18:28, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

FAKE WEB PAGE

I dug about and discovered that someone made an account and copied all my info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Iago_DaIi

Notice the capital I (I as in ice), not an l (L as in Lake). Here is my real page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Iago_Dali

Here is the perpetrator's contributions page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Iago_DaIi

Obviously, this person is trying to create trouble. Tony, since you could ban me I asssume you can permanently block this imposter's IP # from trying to ruin my edits. I will report this at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_%28assistance%29 and the other admin, as well.

This is atrocious, and someone I disagreed with is obviously trying to frame me for bad edits or the like. Please help me out. Thanks, Iago Dali 18:51, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

A8

Please be more careful about what you delete. Thomas McCabe was not from a commercial content provider, so it was in no way a speedy. —Cryptic (talk) 20:22, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

Actually, while the American Society for Quality is a nonprofit, it is a "commercial content provider" (as stated on Wikipedia:Candidates_for_speedy_deletion#Articles) because it offers, in it's own words, "technologies, concepts, tools, and training to quality professionals, quality practitioners, and everyday consumers." [1] This content is only provided for a cost. I was very careful when I looked at deleting this article and only did so b/c it was less than 48 hours old, from the website of an organization providing commercial content, and met all the other criteria. Just because an organization is a nonprofit doesn't mean their content isn't commercial. Best, --SouthernNights 23:15, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
The American Society for Quality is certainly not in the business of selling the biographies of those who are invited to speak at one of their conferences. Taking so broad an interpretation of "commercial content provider" would make anything appearing on the web page of nearly any company to be speediable. If you read the proposal that led to this specific wording you'll see that it was crafted specifically to avoid this idea.
The fact that the exact same biography appears on the web page of another conference [2] strongly implies that the ASQ does not own the copyright to this bio at all. It may well have been written by Mr. McCabe himself and provided to both of these organizations, and not beyond the realm of possibility that he also posted it to Wikipedia himself. Compare the first revision of Carl Hewitt, which was also a bioblurb that appears next to his name as a speaker at several conferences (as well as the Stanford page I cited in the copyvio template). As it happens, in that case it was the subject of the article who wrote the blurb, provided it to the conferences, and posted it to Wikipedia. It is exactly this sort of situation that a week of limbo on WP:CP is intended to catch.
I do owe you an apology for assuming you hadn't checked, though. Stretching of the speedy criteria is one of the few things that truly bothers me on Wikipedia, and this one's a particular sore point (I was one of only six who opposed it). My blood pressure goes up whenever I see "copyvio?" show up as the comment in the deletion log, and I find articles improperly tagged for A8 nearly every time I can bring myself to look at CAT:CSD. (The most recent was Sunatori.com, despite them selling pens, not advertisements for them. The most ridiculous was F L Dunkin Wedd, whose source was a personal geocities webpage.) There isn't really any recourse, either - I'm not going to list them at WP:VFU, since I don't want copyvios to be undeleted, of course, and so few articles on WP:CP are salvaged that it's safe to assume that any article that I did raise a stink about wouldn't be one of them. —Cryptic (talk) 01:44, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

You are welcome

Congrats on your admin from another southerner (southwest Texas). Thank you. Dakota t e 16:47, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

Well, since you asked...

Since you've asked after admin-type tasks, can you merge Big Oil and Big oil? (or, more specifically, copy the text of the latter into the former and merge the edit histories, I'll do the rest). Cheers! (and congrats) BD2412 T 16:47, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

  • No problem - I've gone ahead and merged the text, and left an attribution note in the edit summary and on the talk page, so I think that circumvents the need to merge the edit histories (in other words, nothing else needs to be done at this point). BD2412 T 14:06, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

Welcs and Dali

You're very welcome. By the way, can you email User:Iago Dali regarding me? He's "left" Wikipedia because he has some "evidence" to prove that User:Red Darwin, User:Viriditas and me are one, when all he has is a letter from Red Darwin that I forwarded to him. I've explained to him and reasoned at length that this is not possible, but he replied that I was "mocking" him and that "Viriditas [and I] were laughing at our deviousness", even though I hardly know the fellow. I told him what an ungrateful person he was, throwing away all my attempts to help him, but he apparently blocked my emails due to paranoia. He seems to view you as an ally, though. Perhaps you can reason with him. Good luck, though. ;) Don Diego(Talk) 08:13, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

Sun Yat-sen farc

First, I aggree that the FARC was too soon after promotion - see the specific FARC's talk page. I speedy de-listed it and tried to convince the nominator to hold off. I also asked for assistance from Raul, the FA director, but was ignored (either because he din not object to the FARC going forward, or he did not care). When other users expressed a desire for the FARC to go forward, there was little I could do.

As for the article being de-featured, I stand by my decision. I believe consensus was reached (although consensus is not always used with FAs). FAs must live up to a higher standard, and even a slight consensus is enough to warrant defeaturing, especially considering that it can take only one actionable objection to sink an FAC full of supports.

Deryck C. did address some of the concerns raised, notably the copyvio stuff, yes, but that was only a small part of the issue. Once Deryck feels the article is up to snuff, he should take it through the FAC process again (he can do it now if he wants). --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 16:13, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

Wikipediology

I'd like to ask those fellows who have not indicated whether or not they grant permission for a wikibio on them to please do so soon. I'd also appreciate it everyone could expand or create the wikibios for which permission has been granted. The wikibio project simply won't be useful unless fellows actively participate; so I'd like to issue a challenge that each fellow contribute at least one sentence to two wikibios. I'll be on wikibreak for the next week and when I get back there will be prizes in store for the fellows who have the three highest edit counts on wikibios. Thanks. -JCarriker 22:30, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

Southern contributions award

I, JCarriker, present you with the Southern contributions award for your outstanding edits to Southern topics.

endorsement of racist comments

Your endorsement of racist comments in wikipedia ("Cry me a river, white boy.") is not helpful, and borders on policy violation. I'd appreciate it if you removed your endorsement. -Justforasecond 22:02, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

I stated that the comment was not racist. It is not a policy violation to state one's opinion on a matter. I posted more on your talk page.--SouthernNights 01:37, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Leaving Wikipedia in protest of Deeceevoice's treatment

Due to the actions against user:deeceevoice in the recent Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Deeceevoice, I am leaving Wikipedia for an extended period to protest her treatment. I used to disagree with Deeceevoice's contention that Wikipedia has a massive problem with systemic bias and racism. However, after seeing how she was treated in the recent RfC, I must admit she is correct. While there are many good editors on Wikipedia who are pushing to correct these problems, there are many more who push racist and biased agendas. As such, I am taking an extended leave from editing Wikipedia in protest of this environment and, hopefully, to draw attention to this issue.--SouthernNights 18:42, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

I was saddened to see this note pop up on my watchlist. I wander into African-American lit articles myself every now and again, so I've long been following your work with admiration, and I was very happy to see you make admin last month.
There's no doubting that racism's a problem in Wikipedia (and certainly was in Deecee's RfC) but I'd hate to see us lose you over it, even for a limited period, just as I'm absolutely furious that we seem to have lost Deecee. For starters, I'll miss y'all personally (as a lit student myself I refer to your Shakespeare and Af-Am lit articles often), but more to the point, it hands over one of the most popular information sources in the world to exactly the people who shouldn't have it. While the Systemic Bias on WP is infuriating, it's also the fastest way to fight systemtic bias on the web as a whole, I think; a lot of our African history and language coverage, for example, exists nowhere else on the English-language web. I suspect the same is true with many of your African-American lit articles, and I hope you won't long let these folks stand in the way of the good work you're doing. It's an uphill fight but I think one well worth fighting and making sure we win.
Jeez, did this ever get out of hand! Well, I hope I'll see you back soon. In the meantime, if there's anything I can do to give you, Deecee, or this problem in general a hand, let me know, and I'm there. Cheers and wikilove, --Dvyost 21:36, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
I think you're making a mistake by leaving for an extended period of time. Racism needs to be confronted, its the only way to stop it. The racists want you to leave they won't shed any tears. You should stay and draw attention to the subject, I have repeatedly threatened to leave and all it does is cause a temporary out burst of activity. People respond for a little while, but ultimately go back to business as usual. The best thing to do is to stay and keep chiping away at the problem, that's the only thing that every really does. What ever happened to we shall overcome? Faith, you must have faith; and keep on fighting. -JCarriker 21:43, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks to everyone for their support. I've now had time to clear my head. I agree that we can't back down to the idiots who drove out Deeceevoice. Personally, I hope she returns but until then we've got work to do. I'd strongly suggest that everyone keep an eye out for users engaging in racism and bias. I'm also hoping that we will keep in touch about this issue and let each other know when we encounter racist editors and such. Any other ideas how to combat this?--SouthernNights 15:02, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Maybe User:JuanMuslim is right; a boycott on Wikipedia seems radical, and considering I have not been editing so much lately gives light to the fact that I don't feel that I have done anything useful on Wikipedia as I have not gotten an RfA or a featured article in the past year. So, I stopped wanting to be one here so much anyway (as you see, my 1,814 contribs. in October were followed by less than 400 in November). I do want to make this article a featured one and get it on the front page, though. Wikipedia's recent controversies are only giving it bad air, so if you do decide to protest that racism is haunting the site (which it most certainly is) you will help put it under (although I don't think you should). So my idea is to present a petition or something of that nature to a higher governing power on Wikipedia. If that doesn't work someone should spread that message as the Seigenthaler incident has been done. However, I truly don't want to conspire against Wikipedia, so I am planning to simply cut back on editting and just try to help when and where I can. I think we need someone like the ArbCom to look into this, (I don't know if they have or not). But if no one listens, it may need to be some type of scandal. I don't know, I guess this argument is just muttered gibberish right about now? Huh? εγκυκλοπαίδεια* (talk) 16:53, 10 December 2005 (UTC) 19:51, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Take this on me! εγκυκλοπαίδεια* (talk) 16:53, 10 December 2005 (UTC) 20:16, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Personally, I think Wikipedia is an excellent tool for educating the general public and one of the better sources of info on the web (which is why I laugh when I hear people complain about Wikipedia being inaccurate, because they are forgetting that at least Wikipedia is more accurate than most web info sources). That said, I do think racism and systemic bias here needs to be addressed. I initially thought a protest or something might help but all that does is let the racists continue to edit while we turn our heads. Perhaps a petition would be a useful tool, as would bringing in ArbCom. In the end, though, you are probably correct. Perhaps a scandal is needed. Bet if the mainstream media believed hard-core racists are using Wikipedia for their own ends and wrote about it the issue would be dealt with quickly.--SouthernNights 20:33, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, but it would risk an accusation that we are trying to put Wikipedia six feet under because we are upset, or something (you know how silly some Wikipedians are). At anyrate, what could I do here in your opinion? After I get an FA I will be a little less tense anyway : )εγκυκλοπαίδεια* (talk) 16:53, 10 December 2005 (UTC) 20:36, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks, I must admit that I have never taken the time to actual try to research do in depth research (very bad, I know) unless I can find another source of the internet. I know to not do stupid things like going to a Bathroom Reader to create an article like I used to (that is how this got screwed up). I definately don't put any effort when I write articles so much either (not NEARLY as much as I do on school papers or personal ones which I do very well on). But I want to create one really good article before the year is up. That means I am going to treat that one like a school paper once I get the opportunity, and remember, I really never have done that here before. I am definately guilty of writing articles in five minutes without thinking twice, it is time for me to do better, and for the past weeks I have been going back to improve the old "Bathroom Reader" articles of mine, and others. But I know I can get this to a Featured Article, I have usually get A's on papers in college, I had 96 percentile on a national writing component, so I definately feel embarassed about some of my past crap here... BUT IT SHALL CHANGE SOON!!!! Anyway, thanks AB - glad to see you came back. εγκυκλοπαίδεια* (talk) 16:53, 10 December 2005 (UTC) 21:57, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Hey

I see you, hope you don't think I got too upset about the new "complaint forum" against DCV. I am pissed now. εγκυκλοπαίδεια* (talk) 01:44, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

Checkuser

I usually put a request on WP:AN/I. Explain the circumstances, the people involved, and why you think a checkuser would help. It doesn't hurt to put a brief note on, say David Gerard's or Kelly Martin's talk page. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 10:28, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

Deeceevoice RfA

I saw that you voted to accept the Deeceevoice RfA. While I disagree with you on this decision, it is yours to make. However, I am curious how the fact that an admin posted false info on the RfA prior to your vote, then admitted that this info was false, plays into your decision? (For more on this, see User:Robchurch/deeceevoice. In my opinion, this RfA is a witchhunt and, like the RfC, has so devolved into nothing but a shouting match that I fail to see how anything can be decided from it. Finally, does your vote for acceptance mean you also are voting that Justforasecond is harassing Deeceevoice (as many users believe)? Best, --SouthernNights 14:12, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

My vote to accept is based only on apparent violation of Wikipedia:No personal attacks. I can see there is a lot of nonsense involved here, probably on both sides. I am distressed by the low level of participation in Wikipedia of all minorities (other than Chinese) and prepared to make some accommodation, but frankly I think we are dealing with someone who is routinely violating Wikipedia:Civility. As to the harassment, perhaps so; if the case is accepted, make that case with evidence. Fred Bauder 14:39, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

O.K. SouthernNights, so you don't believe in Santa, but I still want to wish you and your loved ones all the happiness in the world and the best new year ever. Your friend, Tony the Marine 05:01, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

harrassment

SouthernNights,

I do not understand how you, or anyone, can support deeceevoice in light of her comments. Most recently she described me as starting a "lynch party" complete with kerosene, etc.

Put yourself in my shoes.

  1. She's violated as many policies as I can see (we'll have to avoid arguing this one)
  2. Been asked cordially to desist
  3. Responded nastily ("deleted without reading")
  4. Been served an RfC
  5. Refused to respond nastily (mealy mouthed brats, etc...)
  6. Been served an RfA
  7. Tears into me with claims about lynchings, tears into wikipedia overall as some huge racist organization.

How would you feel if she had written about your being a racist murderer, who held a picnic while lighting people on fire? As if that's not enough, when I go to the noticeboard and see you are there trying to start a "check user" towards me -- as if I'm some sort of repeat vandal. What is your issue with me? I am following wikipedia policy as well as possible. There is one bad African-American editor here that, as far as I can tell, has violated numerous policies. I've filed an RfAr to determine if this is the case, and you are indicting me as a racist harrasser. If there is something, *anything* you want me to do, please tell me. I will remove any comment, address any edit, revert any bad blood, anything I have done, other than this filing against deeceevoice.

How is what I've done racist here? This is the prescribed wikipedia policy. How is it harrassment to file an RfAr and inform users about it? Isn't this how things are supposed to proceed? Is it harrassment to report an offensive page that has already been deleted by well-intentioned admins? I hope you don't believe that merely filing an RfAr is racist in itself. Throughout all of this if I have broken any policy I'm happy to adjust my behavior. I removed notices about the RfC from article talk pages when other editors objected, and I haven't been anything but polite to most folks, with the possible exception of the guy that said "cry me a river white boy" and his friends that insisted it was not racist. I've had discussions with Encyclopedist, Jcarriker, Dyvost (sorry I don't know the spelling) which have been cordial. If you really think this is harrassment, *PLEASE* explain to me how it fits the wikipedia definition (and point me to the wikipedia definition). Nowhere on the dispute resolute pages did it say that pursuing an RfAr might qualify.

If you want to file an RfC against me, I can't stop you. You have more friends than I do, but I expect it will look pretty bad. You've asked another user to sign on to this negotation with me (to which he wrote two words) and you are calling me a racist. As far as I can tell, you're using this term just because I've filed an RfAr against your friend.

As you know, the RfA will fail if it is groundless. If she's a good editor, it will fade away, and wikipedia will be all the better for the clarification of behavioral standards. If it passes, then I guess I wasn't such a bad guy after all. So please, lay off.

Anyway, I'm taking a break. It seems the RfAs take a while to get rolling, and I can't deal with everyone calling me a racist for now. I'll check my talk page for your response, but I'm not going to touch any deeceevoice related issues until the evidence phase.

-Justforasecond

please stop

Please desist

SouthernNights, please stop implying (or stating) that I am a racist. If there is something I've said, please tell me so I can adjust it. If your only claim against me is that I have filed an RfAr, informed relevant parties, and filed a notice on the AN, I don't think you've got much of a leg to stand on. Your endorsement of phrases like "cry me a river, white boy" and very strong support of a user that uses "crakkka" frequently makes it increasingly difficult to assume good faith here.

-Justforasecond 16:58, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

As you stated in your message above, "I can't deal with everyone calling me a racist for now." Obviously this statement means a lot of other people see racism in your actions. That said, I have merely stated that your actions seem like harassment and that it is possible that race has played into your actions. I would love to be proved wrong about this and look forward to seeing you change the way you have been acting. After all, actions speak louder than words.--SouthernNights 18:08, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
