If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article George Li, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. I don't know Chinese, but perhaps you have something to do with the subject. Remember that users with close connections with a particular subject are generally discouraged to edit their articles. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page George Li has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \byoutube\.com (links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvbpfojcspg, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yng8jtunvc, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whsvc98ovr0, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kq0ukx_d7lk, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5y6-zi9aus, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqladlxdzku, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0ef05dqvnm, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyj04e-gdvu, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7brihzmnxo). Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. 1. Welcome to Wikipedia. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. 1. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to George Li. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.

Please do not add inappropriate external links, as you did with this edit to George Li. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Cst17 (talk) 19:41, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to George Li. Dylan620 (Toolbox Alpha, Beta) 19:42, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To whom it may concert,

I am a newcomer of Wikipedia and seeking for help from you.

I am the father of George Li. I found his name was listed in the "List of music prodigies" but when I clicked on his name "George Li", the file was empty. Therefore I tried to help by filling in with the basic information.

I realized that I have a major conflict of interest by doing that. Therefore I was trying to be as neutral as possible, by stating only facts and put in exturnal links from which all the facts can be backed up. Those links do not have copy-right violation issues since they are most from George's Youtube Channels, or public information.

However, when I put in those external links it seemed to upset your editor. Therefore unless you can give me clear instruction to improve the article "George Li", I will stay out of it and let you, the experts to make it good.

I like the Wikepedia and thank you very much for making it so great!

Let me know how I can help and wish you the best,

Xiaojian Li

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Wha Kyung Byun, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.newenglandconservatory.edu/faculty/byunW.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 00:30, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Wha Kyung Byun requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I know what you feel about your son, but per Wikipedia guidelines we generally discourage people who have close connections with the subject to edit their respective articles. You may do so as long as you write it in a neutral point of view, but I suggest that you sort this out at the article's talk page rather than risking your account being blocked.

If you have any questions regarding your son's article, let me know. Blake Gripling (talk) 02:21, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Foudation for Chinese Performing Art requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ... discospinster talk 02:47, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated George Li, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/George Li. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Reply for your deletion nomination of George Li

[edit]

Dear Bongomatic,

I am new so I may not have done everything correctly when posting the article George Li. But I am following the format and style of the article Aimi Kobayashi. In the article Aimi Kobayashi, there is a statement about Aimi, then followed by a profile, which is a list of Aimi's activities by years.

I have done exactly the same thing for the article George Li with a longer statement and longer list of "profile". Within both statement and profile there are only facts about what, when and where George Li has received awards and made performances. For no reason you have deleted the profile and only the statement left. And now you are nominating the article for deletion. I think that you have a double standard and it will destroy the spirit of Wikipedia because I don't think your decision of the article George Li represents Wikipedia.

I know that I have done something stupid which may have made you unhappy or even angry. Such as that I have unintentionally erased your comments because I thought that I have corrected the article according to your suggestions. And such as that I have created some new articles by just copying materials from other website without knowing the possibility of infringing copyright. There may be more additional stupid mistakes that I have made angers you a lot. For all these I apologize to you sincerely and for which I also learn to make things right in the hard way and I feel sorry for making so much trouble for you during the last several days.

With that said, I don’t think you should extend the anger disproportionally at the expense of deleting an article that may have contribute a lot to the Wikipedia, since it copies the format, style of the article Aimi Kobayashi, which is in good quality to the Wikipedia.

I think that deleting Article George Li will be the loss of Wikipedia. George will become one of the greatest piano artists in the world regardless whether this article is deleted or not.

If you still think the article should be deleted then please go ahead. Two days of my work on this article is not a big deal for me, but I really feel sorry for Wikipedia.

Thanks for your time and attention.

Xiaojianli (talk) 04:36, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mr. Li. Thank you for your article contributions to Wikipedia. The other editors who volunteer here have agreed on certain standards for articles. Accordingly, a determination will have to be made whether the George Li article meets the notability standards at wp:notability. The standards are generally based on substantial coverage in reliable independent sources. He has some, but it's not clear to me whether the coverage is substantial enough rather than more trivial type human interest stories of passing interest. I think the accomplishments of your son are wonderful and the article may very well survive. Even if it doesn't, nothing is deleted permanently so there may be ways to improve it in time to meet standards. We'll see what happens. I apologize that you've received so many warnings and automated messages. It definitely take some getting used to on how things work here and new editors often have difficulty with the rules and processes. There are humans at work here, but some of us do a lot of housekeeping tasks rely on automation to make it easier. If you have any questions please post them here and we'll try to respond and help in any way we can. Take care. ChildofMidnight (talk) 07:30, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear ChildofMidnight,

Thanks for your kind explanation. I have lost my interest of keeping George's information in Wikipedia - it's not worth for my time to struggle for it since George's information can be found in so many websites. The only interest I have now is to observe how you and your colleagues deal with situation like this - I want to learn that whether you are really working hard to keep up the spirit of Wikipedia. In any case, your decision won't impact me anymore. I only wish you can make your decision with your best judgment according to the Wikipedia spirit.

Sincerely yours,

Hello

[edit]

Hi Xiaojian! I'm Bryce, an editor and rollbacker here on Wikipedia. I'll have to say that I'm proud at your son's success.

I have been a fan of your son's pianism since 2007. I think he is an example of a child virtuoso. Although in 2009, the article didn't meet the notability guideline, it does now, because your child won a major competition and is known for being the youngest recipent of the 2012 Gilmore Young Artist Award.

Just say that I wish good luck to you, your family, and George. I'm an experienced editor here, so you can leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything.

I would like to expand the article about him, and I need your help. You being the father of George, I think it will be possible to expand it clearly.

I think the Manual of Style will help you while editing. Cheers! -Bryce53 | talk 12:05, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

Hi Bryce,

Thanks for your wonderful message. I really appreciate that your willingness to expand the article. I will do whatever you need to help you on this. Please let me know how can I help. As you can see that I am a newcomer and do not have sufficient time to study how to do it well. However, I can provide all the information you need or to improve what I write under your guidance.

Best wishes,

Jian

I know you're a little busy helping your son to succeed. I look forward to help. Special:Uploading a photo of George that you own can help. You can also write an article about George on Wikipedia中文 (http://zh.wikipedia.org) if it confirms with its policies. I know some Chinese, so if you wish to communicate with me in that language (which is probably your native language) there is no problem to do so. Cheers!
