Unused timeline template that isn't used at Full-size Ford. Gonnym (talk) 15:06, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. This style rarely seem to work, perhaps explaining why its not used in the only article it could be used in: Full-size Ford. Basically article content. Nigej (talk) 15:28, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Can agree that it suffers from lack of use, but rather than integrate in Full-size Ford, it can added into the multiple articles named within the template (that haven't been linked). While similar in layout to the Ford Falcon timeline template, this is somewhat wider in scope. SteveCof00 (talk) 05:17, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep - I could see this potentially being useful in articles like 1941 Ford, 1949 Ford, et al. --Sable232 (talk) 00:33, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: The template is now used in one article. Should it be placed in others, or substituted and deleted as a single-use template?

"The Canadas" is a collective name for two historical colonies. It would always be better to use "Country data Upper Canada" or "Country data Lower Canada" as appropriate. However, as UC and LC did not have their own distinctive emblems, only "Country data Great Britain" and "Country data United Kingdom" are necessary. Additionally, the flag in "Country data The Canadas" is a depiction of an obviously erroneous design, and there is no reason to use it. Indefatigable (talk) 21:14, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nomination. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 00:16, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment perhaps the template's creator meant the United Province of Canada a colony that replaced the two Canadas of Lower Canada and Upper Canada. We already have country data templates for Upper Canada and Lower Canada, and the UC/LC templates should exist either as redirects or actual templates. Two different Red Ensigns appear in the history of this template, one from 2017-2021 and the current one from last year. -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 04:00, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the template(s) or module(s) below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the template's talk page or in a deletion review).

The result of the discussion was merge to Template:French elections. Primefac (talk) 16:37, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Navbox with 0 transclusions. However it was added as a link "Local referendums" at the bottom {{French elections}}. We have an article Referendums in France but that doesn't use it directly, preferring {{French elections}}. That template has a section "Referendums" (for national referendums) and links to a series of templates like {{French Polynesian elections}} which includes the local referendums there, so this template is perhaps just confusing the issue. Nigej (talk) 14:27, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Many of the included local referendums are mentioned nowhere on English Wikipedia. By deleting the template, instead of having one place where people can see what local referendums were held in France, they would instead have to do hours of searching in two languages. Which is more confusing? Sladnick (talk) 16:53, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The trouble is that a WP:NAVBOX is "a grouping of links used in multiple related articles to facilitate navigation between those articles in Wikipedia". It's not really a place to put links to another template which contains red links but also links to the French version of Wikipedia for those. My own view is that we should Wikipedia:Write the article first. Nigej (talk) 17:05, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge Merge the links on this one into the main French elections template with a subsection as part of the referendum section. Better to have it there than on a navbox on its own. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 00:31, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unused article content templates. Probably once used at List of world records in masters athletics and List of European records in masters athletics. I think the idea is that the template can be used at both for someone who has both records. The problem is that when the record is broken the old template lies around unused. Seems overly complex for the limited use. I'd have a thought an inline approach would be better even if that meant two copies sometimes. See Category:Athletics record templates for others in the series. Nigej (talk) 08:47, 28 January 2022 (UTC).[reply]

  • As the creator of those templates, if they are no longer used in the master article, if there are no transclusions, those records have been superseded and the old template is no longer needed. We actually have a better way to do record presentations now but some old templates are still in place. I will check these specific ones to make sure they are no longer relevant and will include the ones that are. Trackinfo (talk) 23:19, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We do have North Dakota Fighting Hawks women's volleyball but there are no articles about Summit League Women's Volleyball or anything similar let alone for the specific 2018 season. A case of Wikipedia:Write the article first. We shouldn't be having templates lying around on the off chance someone might use them. Unused template that relates to Australia–New Zealand soccer rivalry. Added there on 25 September 2020‎ and removed two days later. Personally I don't think its needed in the article and its certainly not suitable anywhere else. Nigej (talk) 07:39, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I thought this was removed a long time ago, but apparently not. I made this in reference to the template formerly made for the England–Scotland football rivalry and I can see that it's not suitable for needs in the article. So yeah, I'm fine with it being removed. FastCube (talk) 10:23, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is a follow-up to Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2021 October 5#Template:2013 Southeast Asian Games men's basketball game 1 where four of these single-use "convenience templates" were deleted. I am now nominating the remainder which all need to be substituted and then deleted, like the four noted. Nigej (talk) 07:17, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Same as the Richmond Football Club (reserves) current squad template that I nominated on January 19. Outdated team templates used on the wrong spaces. There is no way that the current template reflects the London Broncos squad for the 2014 to 2017 and 2021 seasons. The Skolars template is used on the main article for the team, but shouldn't be substituted on there as a better place would the current season but no such article exists as of the moment. These are not needed. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 02:34, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete both per nom. I've removed the links from the articles noted. They have the correct squads for their dates but contained very confusing links to these 2 templates which contain the squads for 2018. Even if the templates were updated to 2021 I can't see any point in having the content in an article and then providing a link to a template which contains exactly the same information. Note that the navboxes {{London Broncos squad}} and {{London Skolars squad}} are separate. Nigej (talk) 06:50, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - Is used on London Broncos articles.Fleets (talk) 10:34, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's incorrect. London Broncos#2022 squad has the squad as article content. Why would they be using this one which currently has the 2018 squad? As noted the similarly named {{London Broncos squad}} is used. Nigej (talk) 17:28, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Historical, ie season articles.Fleets (talk) 18:02, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's not true either. 2018 London Broncos season doesn't use it. 2017 London Broncos season#2017 squad has the info hard-wired in. 2016 too. This is a "current squad" why would it be used in old season articles? Nigej (talk) 20:58, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Delete as unused. If yearly squad tables are needed, they should be created as tables in the relevant article. Gonnym (talk) 22:51, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
