I have to admit something.
From day one I have had a deep, dark hatred for that crude little mushroom this project has been using. It has bothered me for ages, so I finally got around to making a mushroom of my own to replace him. I hope there isn't much objection to this motion, though there may be the issue of which coloring to use.--SeizureDog 05:15, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- The classic looks fine. Kariteh 08:42, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

- I also like those better than the old crude mushroom!
- I decided to SVGize your PNGs, SeizureDog, as shown to the right. As you can see, I followed your design almost exactly. What do you think? Anomie 23:36, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Project page change
I am considering creating an Achievements section for FARs, FAs, FACs, GACs and GAs, like Wikipedia:WikiProject Final Fantasy#Achievements. I am also considering a removal of all Former FAs and Former GAs. Any comments or objections? Greg Jones II 17:46, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- Sounds good. Go for it.--SeizureDog 17:48, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- I removed all former FAs and former GAs and replaced them with Good article candidates and Featured article candidates. Greg Jones II 17:51, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- And I have changed the Article examples to Achievements. Greg Jones II 18:07, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Merger of new versions of Pokémon Red and Blue
I have proposed that the expanded versions of Pokémon Red and Blue (Pokémon Yellow and Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen) be merged into the main article. Please discuss on the talk page. ~ JohnnyMrNinja 06:46, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject - Nintendo - Super Mario Series?
Out of all things video games you don't have a WikiProject on tbe Super Mario series? The very character is the longest lasting video game character (next to Donkey Kong of course) for 26 years! Surely since you have the Ledgend of Zelda (Link) series WikiProject I would think you would have the Mario series WikiProject too. I'm sure that there are plenty of Mario fans and willing contributors who are ready to start on a project of this subject. Think of it, you could have the games, the characters, development, the creators, etc. because as we all know the Mushroom Kingdom and Mario industry is a HUGE one. So why can't we put it as one of our priorities and upgrade the quality of all the articles in this area to FA standard and get our moustached friend featured? I think it's worth it. Mario is, after all, one of the driving forces behind Nintendo and would to the world of good to the Nintendo Project as well as Video Game Project too. What do you say? If you all accept, could someone put it on the To Do list? Thanks in advance. I've also posted this under the WikiProject Video Games discussion page.
I've also noticed that the Mario page hasn't even made it to Wikipedia Version 0.5 level. We must do something about this so Mario gets his spot on the Final Wikipedia v1.0!
Please excuse my lack of Wiki code as I don't know it very well.
Also, I would like to propose to clean up the discussion page here. Here is my plan.
Stage 1: Delete all topics that have not been answered in 2007 (delete all topics that are posted in 2006 and eariler)
Stage 2: Delete all topics that have not been answered in 6 months.
Stage 3: Delete all topics that have not been answered in 4 months.
Not only will this clear up a lot of this discussion page, but it would also give attention to the more important subjects that have any interest. I will need people to approve of this before I follow through so please leave your own post. After your post, please type < hr > without the spaces. This helps set your post out from the others so you can clearly tell who posted what. Also, please don't delete these lines. Thanks for reading.

- Don't we already archive talk pages? (Wouldn't that be enough?) Oh, and WP:MOS discourages the Horizontal Rule. =David(talk)(contribs) 13:26, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Mush Man, welcome to wikipedia. Please see the page Help:Archiving a talk page which covers the approach to use for tidying up talk pages.
- Further, as David says, the rest of wikipedia uses the intenting approach, so it's preferred to keep to the standard.
- Finally use ~~~~ to sign your name. --Oscarthecat 14:51, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Mush Man, you're currently editing from an IP address (as I've just shown by adding the unsigned tag). You should consider logging in (Or, if you haven't created an account, create one).
- As for your other concerns, if you feel that a Mario Wikiproject (separate from the Wikiproject Nintendo) is necessary, take a stroll on over to this page to find out how to make one. Thanks for your interest!=David(talk)(contribs) 15:02, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- I would suggest a task force within the scope of this project. Please register so that you could be a part of the project you are proposing. Please do not use HR's as they are distracting. Please do not start the same conversation in two places, instead redirect editors from one place to the topic on the other (as this conversation is more about this project than WP:VG, I will direct editors here). Please do not add (active topic) to section headings, as there is no time limit to a discussion, save for when it's archived (usually do to size, and by normal archiving procedure). But again, a task force would be preferable, due to the overlap with this project, and there are too many stagnant WPs as it is. ~ JohnnyMrNinja 17:58, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Working on Wario
I am currently trying to address some of the issues standing in the way of this article being lifted back to FA-status (in order to achieve the bounty of course, and because I love Wario :P). Anyone is of course welcome to help out, and if you have any questions, we can try to work it out together on the talk page. --Lhademmor 21:04, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
His userpage says that he is a member of this project, so I figured that I should comment here. This user has just been unblocked following a series of discussions which ended at WP:CSN. The terms of his unblock state that he is now on an indefinite edit parole. The terms of the parole state that he is allowed to edit any articles he chooses, but he is only allowed to revert another user one time. So, if he violates his 1RR, then you should report him to WP:AN or WP:ANI stating that he was on a revert parole. Also, he is not allowed to have an alternate account for any reason. If you suspect that he is using sockpuppets, then please report him to WP:SSP or WP:RfCU. Also, you may contact me or User:Moe Epsilon for any details in this matter, or if you feel uncomfortable filing any of the reports should you notice a violation. List of Wii Wi-Fi Connection games
Shouldn't you guys be also working on the List of Wii Wi-Fi Connection games aswell as the DS one because it seriously needs updating. --Maxfm 12:57, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Clarify what qualifies for inclusion in WikiProject Nintendo
This article is not really clear on what belongs in WikiProject Nintendo. It says "this WikiProject focuses only on Nintendo owned characters, games, and systems." Does this mean game published by Nintendo or developed by Nintendo? Many games (notably the Mario sports series) are published but not developed by Nintendo. For example, Mario Superstar Baseball is developed by Namco and Mario Hoops 3-on-3 by Square Enix. The sentence "However, this does exclude Super Mario RPG related articles which, though owned by Square Enix, features Nintendo related characters." leads me to believe that Super Mario RPG and related pages should be included, but many people would think bot because it is not developed by Nintendo but rather Square Enix. If I am assumming correctly, would it not be easier to say that only Nintendo published games should included?
Also, the desciption limits included articles to "characters, games, and systems". Does this mean the Nintendo page should not be included? What about disambiguation pages such as Mario and Luigi or lists such as List of Kirby games?
We need a better method of organizing our pages. Category:WikiProject Nintendo articles does a decent job of sorting articles by importance and quality, but is not easy to sort through if one just wants a "raw list". Maybe articles could also be organized by "characters, games, and systems"? I am considering altering Template:Infobox VG to atomatically include any Nintendo published games (if this is what we decide on) in a new Category:Nintendo game articles and then making a page in WikiProject Nintendo to list these using the Category Tree tool. That would be a start at least by including all "game" articles.
Just wanted to put that out there before making any drastic changes. --bse3 01:27, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
I forgot to say (as if I haven't blabed enough) that the current Category:WikiProject Nintendo articles only lists the article's talk pages, not the actual project pages. Is there a way to change the coding of Template:NESproj to add the project pages rather than the talk pages to the category, even though the template is placed on the talk pages? I know it uses the PAGENAME magic word and I have never heard of a magic word that refers to the project page of the current talk page. SUBJECTPAGENAME does not seem to work. --bse3 02:25, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- Super Mario RPG was co-developed by Square, not entirely developed by them alone. In any case, there simply is no consensus on what qualifies for inclusion in the project, since this is so inactive. I tried to ask the question a while ago (#Removing WP:Nintendo templates) but it didn't get very far. Kariteh 09:37, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Page redesign
I am considering a page redesign of this WikiProject. Recently, Wikiproject Simpsons and now Wikipedia:WikiProject Harry Potter have been redesigned to be more accessible and navigation friendly. I also think it would be a great improvement to go over to that kind of format. Any comments or objections? Greg Jones II 19:38, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- I am all for it! I especially like how Wikipedia:WikiProject Harry Potter has a article index. That would really help this WikiProject. I don't really understand how decisions get made around here (is there a vote or someone in charge?) but I think it would help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bse3 (talk • contribs) 20:11, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Anyone else? (also, Bse3, can you sign your comments using four tildes? That will automatically produce the signature and the date. Thanks.) Greg Jones II 21:03, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Bse3, thanks for the comment you posted on my talk page on my talk page a moment ago. I am interested. Is anyone else interested? Thanks. Greg Jones II 19:09, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- It will definitely make the page more navigable. If you want to you can use the open space under "test" in my sandbox for this redesign. « FMF » 20:43, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- I think that is a great idea. Maybe we could get a few proposals and compare them for the best option. -Zomic13 22:37, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Here is a start. It definitely needs some work and will need some links altered for the real page. I am not sure about the color scheme; I tried to follow User WP Nintendo. I removed some stuff I thought was unnecessary and added some other stuff, but I still think it needs to be reworded in some parts. At least I got the copy and paste/formatting grunt work done. –bse3 (talk • contribs • count • logs) 05:48, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- It's about time for a redesign! The proposed redesign looks GREAT! I appreciate all the work that has gone in to make it looks and work as best as it can! Thanks! LN3000 23:02, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- I agree - it looks cleaner and easier to navigate. Let's take the plunge! —Preceding unsigned comment added by NP Chilla (talk • contribs) 23:38, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed, it is a lot more organized than the layout at the moment, good work. But is there any need for this "Writing Articles" section? It seems like little more than a rehash of what's on other pages already. I would say the red headings are a bit dark, also, they don't really go well with the left side of the page. - Wow, I like the rough draft of the proposed page! I think that this could use some makeover, so I'm for any design that is very appealing to everybody! --ClonedPickle 17:10, 29 October 2007 (PST)
Thanks for the input. I completely agree with what Haipa Doragon has to say about the "Writing Articles" section, so I trashed it. On the right panel I shrunk everything down by putting little scroll boxes for the larger sections. These will need to be sized to balance out both panels when it's nearer to completion. It seems to work pretty good, but for some reason the right side of the scroll bar is cut off and it looks kind of funny. If anyone knows how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated. I also think the "About" section needs to be rewritten. It doesn't seem to flow very well and should include a clearer definition of what articles qualify for this project. I personally think that "game" articles qualify if they are produced by Nintendo. Any color scheme suggestions would be great. See discussion here. –bse3 (talk • contribs • count • logs) 00:48, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
The redesign looks great, however, I agree that the red headers seem a little to dark. And the scroll bars are missing their right half, which looks weird. Other than that, the new look is awesome. Useight 03:34, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm all for it—the redesign makes it look more accessible and appealing. Well done. Ashnard Talk Contribs 07:36, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, the new page is quite an improvement. Im all for it. Navarr 17:16, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- All that can be tweaked later. This new design is much more organized. KyuuA4 22:18, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- Your redesign is looking good. I do think the members scroll box is a little ugly though. I think the redirect to the members list on the old style page worked better. Also, the new page doesn't appear to have instructions for joining Category:WikiProject_Nintendo_members. Actually, I've never put my name on the members list page, I'm only listed in the category. Hmmm. The list and the category seem redundant, is one of them more official/supported than the other? Because honestly we should only need one of them.
- Looking further, there are actually quite a few scroll boxes. They're okay, but I'd rather they go to subpages then scrolling around on the main page like that. Especially in some of the cases where there are lists under subheadings. Lists under subheadings in a scroll box in a sidebar is not my cup of tea. I can't really rationalize what I don't like about it, it just doesn't feel quite right to me. Still, the new look is, overall, an improvement; it just needs some tweaking. New Template:NESproj design
Tell me what you think about my new design:
Usage
Project banner
The NESproj project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, you can add an assessment parameter according to the guidlines at Wikipedia:WikiProject Nintendo. The full syntax is as follows:

:{}|yes|messagebox small-talk|messagebox standard-talk}}}}" |- {{#ifeq:{}|yes| ! colspan="2" style="text-align: center" WikiProject Nintendo {{#if:{}| (Rated {class}-Class)}} }} |- |width="48"| |This article is part of WikiProject Nintendo, an attempt to build a comprehensive and detailed guide to Nintendo related merchandise and video games on Wikipedia. Now all articles will be added to Category:WikiProject Nintendo articles in one main pool and users can define what "type" of an article it is (game, character, location, system, or corporate) for further organization.
New categories will have to be made for all the "types" of articles. These categories can all be place in Category:Nintendo articles by type which can go in Category:WikiProject Nintendo articles.
I not very good with this coding stuff, so hopefully someone can tell me if I did it right. --bse3 (talk • contribs) 21:29, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Since no one gave any input I decided to go ahead. Here are the new categories. I added a few articles to each category to get things rolling, but I'm not going through all of them. Hopefully the articles I added will give a general indication of what each category is supposed to represent. Feel free to add new categories or alter the existing ones. Just be sure to do it through the template. --bse3 (talk • contribs • count • logs) 04:41, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
