The World Cup of Softball is a softball tournament run by the Amateur Softball Association.

It is a round robin format, with 6 teams. Each team plays each other once, then the two teams with the best records play in a one-game, winner-take-all championship.[1] In 2010, the field was reduced to 4 teams, with the two teams with the best records playing in a championship game.

The official world competition was first held in 2005. The competition was not held in 2008 because of the Olympics. However, softball has been removed from the Olympics.
