Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Kalina3112, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Treatment Tourism ©, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Treatment Tourism ©, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Speedy deletion nomination of Medical Detox Des Cierges ©

[edit]

Hello Kalina3112,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Medical Detox Des Cierges © for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. TheLongTone (talk) 12:38, 14 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your recent contributions. Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft version first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, with less risk of deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Hello, Kalina3112. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Dan Mândrilă, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 11:11, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Private Industry Rehabilitation Headquarters Ontario, CA.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Private Industry Rehabilitation Headquarters Ontario, CA.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 14:08, 2 October 2015 (UTC) (talk) I contacted the owner and she should get in touch with the Wikipedia staff in the next few days. Steel1943 (talk The owner of the deleted image contacted Wiki's staff on the permissions e-mail, but the image was deleted nevertheless. John D. Haines

[edit]

Please note that you may not remove an AFD template from the article. Once the discussion has been initiated, the template must remain on the article until the discussion is closed by an administrator — you do not have personal discretion to remove the template at your own choice while the discussion is still active. If the template is removed again, I will be forced to lock the article so that you cannot edit it at all. Bearcat (talk) 17:00, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I understand. I did add aditional sources and removed the subjective statements as much as possible. Hopefully this will help. (User:Bearcat) 12:49, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Argonauts roster, for the record, just lists a "Haines" without a first name, and gives the year on the roster as "04" without clarifying whether they mean 2004 or 1904. Haines isn't a rare enough surname that any reference to someone named Haines without specifying a first name can automatically be assumed to be John D. Haines in particular, and the possible years are both problematic — 1904 is before John Haines was even born, and 2004 is after he retired from football. So that roster doesn't prove that John D. Haines in particular, rather than some other person with the same surname, ever played for the Argonauts. The newspaper sources I found (and the Saint John Wanderers history you added to the article) put him in the Maritime Football League, not the CFL — and unfortunately, the Maritime Football League is not a league that gets its players an automatic inclusion freebie on Wikipedia just because they existed. Bearcat (talk) 12:33, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

talk True. Will try to find other sources. Thank you. The page has been deleted, so I guess I would have to rewrite it.

British diaspora

[edit]

Hi. Can you please stop adding references to British diaspora that don't appear to support the material in the article? If you think the sources are relevant, please explain why on the article talk page. Cordless Larry (talk) 13:23, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

talk Hi, this was in support of Spain being one of the popular destinations for Brits in Europe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.152.172.2 (talk) 13:29, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That fact is already established and sourced in the article. Adding a link to a page about the "Best European countries to live in" is unnecessary and not really relevant. It probably isn't a reliable source either. Cordless Larry (talk) 13:36, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop adding these "Who loves Brits"-type references to articles. They are promotional and do not help to verify facts in the articles you're adding them to. Cordless Larry (talk) 09:10, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

(talk) I do not see anything promotional about a link from the praguepost. It is as reliable as any other media has a high domain authority. It is another thing, if you think the link is not suitable to be added in this particular context. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kalina3112 (talkcontribs) 10:01, 15 October 2015‎ (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. The Prague Post is fine, but they are just republishing material from Ampilot, which is what you appear to be promoting. I also fail to see how the source supports the statement that "English emigrant and ethnic descent communities are found across the world, and in some places, settled in significant numbers". SwisterTwister talk 08:55, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks, SwisterTwister. Kalina3112, I note that this has been declined a few times now. The decline template suggests that the notability issue can be fixed by adding more citations to reliable sources discussing Kathleen Conway. However, I would like to point out that not all subjects meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, and so no amount of searching will find sufficient sources about them. I'm not saying that this is definitely the case with Conway, but I think it is worth considering because I would hate for you to waste time searching for sources in vain. Cordless Larry (talk) 09:07, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cordless Larry Thank you. I know. We need to provide more references. --Kalina3112 (talk) 11:22, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes, but my point was that some subjects don't have enough written about them for them to be considered notable according to Wikipedia's guidelines, and no amount of search for sources will change that. It might be that there are lots of sources out there about Conway, but don't assume that it's just a case of finding more references - there could be a more fundamental issue. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:59, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cordless Larry Yes, thank you. I did understand. --Kalina3112 (talk) 12:57, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:TheScott logo.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:TheScott logo.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 11:05, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I added the tag. --Kalina3112 (talk) 17:18, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You tagged the image as having a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License, but unfortunately the source website states that it is subject to copyright, so I have had to nominate it for deletion (see below). The image itself even features a copyright symbol! Cordless Larry (talk) 21:42, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The author gave me the right to use it. Please take this tag for a day, so the author can send Wikipedia an e-mai.--Kalina3112 (talk) 07:49, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License gives anyone the right to use the logo anywhere, not just you here. In any case, I note that Diannaa has resolved the issue. Cordless Larry (talk) 09:02, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:TheScott logo.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Hi, yes. Thank you! I am familiar with the guidelines. However I have not been paid by Addiction Canada to upload this article. --Kalina3112 (talk) 10:38, 9 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Many Wikipedians feel that conflict-of-interest editing has no place on Wikipedia. Using Wikipedia for promotional purposes is not permitted, and those found to be using Wikipedia for promotion are likely to be blocked from editing.
